CHIPS: THE COMPLETE THIRD SEASON

its great to see an old but still very popular tv series finally on dvd, have already watched all the episodes on every disc and completely enjoyed all of them brought back a lot of old memories and laughs. item was as described and arrived in double quick time, very impressed. this shall be put in my collection with series 1/2 in pride of place. well worth the purchase and wait, hope they bring out a series 4 real soon. thanks again to all

Fantastic opportunity for fans of the series to get their hands on season 3. I bought it [advertised as Region 1 only] expecting this to only play on my all region Blu-Ray player (which it does!) ....but -- BONUS -- the disks ALSO play on all my Region 2 DVD players in the house as well. SO, to any British/European fans wondering if this will work on their Region 2 equipment, THE DISKS PLAY ON MINE. This is much more fun than watching endless repeats of Cop Wars on Sky with Chav scrotes racing through Council sink estates around Buckinghamshire and Lincolnshire!

I never thought that at my age I would be able to watch my all time favourite program from the 70's - 80's. I've had seasons 1 and 2 for a few years now and throughly enjoyed watching them, this time round with my husband! Unlike seasons 1 and 2 this one has come from America and I was dubious that it would play in our player but as it is quite a new one we were pleased to find that it did. This is not to say that it will play on all but if you have a player that states ALL it may be worth giving it a go. Signed off one happy CHiPS fan!! Waiting for Season 4 to arrive.

I loved this series as a kid. I am happy to say that it is as good today as it was then. The production is excellent, the stories are great and the character's are extremely likeable. If you have a couple of young lads like I do then I would highly recommend treating them to a series of Chips. It's what great kids TV should be and back in the 80s frequently was.

what a great show from yesteryear,plenty of action,sunshine and an array of familiar guest stars,well worth the wait[7 years,ridiculous!!!]let"s hope those idiots at warner brothers release the rest of the seasons before the turn of the century!!

This season cements the buddy cop formula between Ponch and Baker and brings back great memories of a time when tv was less violent and more fun. Only 4 stars as the picture quality drops being they are ntsc coded from the states but pleased that they play on my region 2 Sony blu ray players. Highly recommend.

A good 3rd season with episodes away from the highway some quest stars one from wonder woman series young lad in the 3rd season part of the twins both involving music side of it also Martin Jared from war of worlds a few years later

I loved watching CHiPs when I was a child so getting it again to rewatch those great cops on motorbikes riding side by side on the Californian Freeway is pleasure, fighting traffic crime!

C’est reparti pour pour 7M3 et 7M4 Pour moi cette saison est la saison de tous les dangers à la fois pour la série en elle-même, mais également pour les personnages et les acteurs. Dans cette saison, contrairement au deux précédentes, on note plusieurs changements notables. À l’époque, les épisodes de la série CHiP’s n’étaient pas tournés dans l’ordre de diffusion. Dans cette saison les deux premiers épisodes intitulés « Roller Disco » furent ainsi tournés après les 4 suivants dans l’ordre de diffusion .C’est lors du tournage de cette épisode en deux partie « Roller Disco » que l’acteur Eric ESTRADA (Ponch) s’est retrouvé hospitalisé suite à un très grave accident de moto qui s’est déroulé lors du tournage d’un cascade. C’est l’acteur Robert PINE (sergent GETRAER) qui prendra place auprès de Larry WILCOX (Jon) au début de l’épisode. Eric ESTRADA (Ponch) n’étant plus en capacité pendant plusieurs semaines de tourner des épisodes complet, de conduire sa moto et afin de justifier son état de santé notamment son poigné fracturé visible à l’écran, les créateurs de la série ont donc décidés d’intégrer son accident à la série lors de l’épisode « The Return of the Supercycle » L’autre changement majeur dans cette saison est le lieu de tournage. Alors qu’auparavant le plus grand terrain de chasse de Jonathan BAKER, Jon (Larry WILCOX) 7M3, Francis Poncherello, Ponch (Eric ESTRADA) 7M4 était l’autoroute peu à peu dans cette saison ils quittent l’autoroute pour les routes « traditionnelles » de Californie Enfin l’un des derniers changements majeur, mais non des moindre, est dans le rôle des personnages. Alors que dans les deux premières saisons Jon et Ponch avaient comme rôle majeur de poursuivre les chauffards, et venir en détresse au naufragés de la route dans cette saison ils endossent également la caquette d’enquêteur, qui parfois peuvent les emmener sur des terrains mouvant comme lors, par exemple, dès l’épisode « Jailbirds » ou encore « Destruction Derby » Comme la saison 2, la saison 3 n’est pas disponible en version français, mais franchement rein ne vaut la VO. Pour moi, cette saison est un peu moins bien réussie que la saison précédente. La qualité du DVD même si elle reste correcte et moindre que les précédentes, les images sont plus granuleuses et les couleurs beaucoup plus pales. De plus même si le début de saison est très bon, la fin et particulièrement les deux derniers épisodes manquent un peu de panache. Néanmoins pour les grands fans comme moi, cela reste quand même un régal à regarder toujours seul ou en famille

Guest Actors: Jim Brown ("The dirty Dozen", "Rio Concho"), Aldo Ray ("We're No Angels"), Billy Barty, Andrew Duggan, Bruce Glover (James Bond: Diamonds Are Forever), Robert Dowdell (Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea), Ponchs Mother played by Anna Navarro was in "Topaz", Rosemary Forsyth, Warren Berlinger, Edd Byrnes (77 Street). Episode 2 "Roller Disco - Part 2" contains some great names who did a cameo for the "Benefit"-Storyline: George A-TEAM Peppard, Adam BATMAN West, Ruth Buzzi, Melissa LITTLE HOUSE ON THE PRAIRIE Anderson and any more. Trivia: - in the Episode "Hot Wheels" can be seen a Fire-Truck with the Number 51. Its the same truck used in the serie "Emergency". - Episode 12 "Destruction Derby" is Billy Green Bush guest starring. He is the father of the famous Twin-Sisters Sydney and Lindsay Greenbush (!) who played Carrie Ingals in the longtime running "Little House on the Prairie" FAZIT: old-fashioned? Possible. But its entertaining with a good portion of humor.
