I cannot recommend enough!
I have struggled with pigeons nesting on my solar panels and tried many things to get rid of them but this is the simplest and most effective. Forget the ultrasonic scarers and spikes; this is your answer. I only bought because a friend recommended and was sceptical. I thought I'd try it before committing to getting the big ladder out again so duct taped two 1m lengths to bits I could reach out of the window and just that has been enough to move the birds along and let me sleep again. One piece has blown away but at this price I don't care; if I went up and secured it properly that wouldn't happen. It is a bit noisey as it clatters about on the roof in high winds but the effect on the birds is worth that and easily ignored. It'll move about well in very light winds and is quite sturdy material so should last. Not that that's a concern for the price but if you have it in inaccessible places as I will you would want that. I don't generally directly recommend products but will make an exception - if you want rid of birds, buy this!

Works for a little while
It's an OK product, the ones in the tree seem to work better but on the newly seeded lawn it's a bit useless. It is not self adhesive so stuck mine on with waterproof tape. There is plenty on the roll. It looks pretty and makes a nice noise.

Seems to have done the job.
It reflects light as it blows around, and it has worked for my pigeon problem. Have spent 40quid on spikes, 10 quid on an owl, this little item was just what was needed to stop the pigoens nesting in a corner of the roof of the conservatory. And blocking the guttering which cause an overflow, and water damage inside the conservatory. Sadly There is no adhesive on eitherside of the strip hence 1 star.. for that, and lost a star on overall review because the video misrepresents that aspect of the item. I have hung a long strip of it out the bathroom window into the offending corner. I thought the reflective graphic on the double sided strip looked similar to the colouring & irredesance of pigeon markings.. It comes on a roll, so cut to lenghths you want. And made of a waterproof thick material.

Highly effective, simple and humane bird deterrent.
First of all this tape is Not adehesive. It is designed to wrap around and be tied or fixed in some other manner. I needed it to deter squadrons of birds from devouring the cherries from my larger tree. I have two very nimble cats but even they needed a rest occasionally! As things were I was becoming desperate. This tape is nice and reflective and relatively rigid and makes an impressive noise in the wind. I tried tying it on the branches but due to the metallic nature of the tape that did not work too well. In the end I used a domestic stapler and stapled the top on. Result? Even in gale force 6 so far the tape remains undamaged but best of all, I have not seen one bird attempt to land or even come near to eat a cherry. So after five days the cherries are still ripening and remain intact. And it is a simple, humane and effective deterrent. I cannot recommend it enough.

Doesn't deter pigeons or magpies; probably a nice parcel tape though.
I hung some of this up yesterday afternoon. I sat outside this morning, admiring the lack of bird poo on the paving and wondering if this really was doing the job. Sadly not, five minutes later I spotted a pigeon sitting directly below some of waving tape. Ironically, my slight movements, made in an attempt to take a photo of this novelty, scared the pigeon off. Only to replaced in short order by a magpie sitting above the tape. It's nice robust tape though, but not good for its intended purpose in my experience.

It really works if you make the effort
You really have to make an effort to get this stuff to work but when you do, wow, just brilliant. Having read the many reviews by users who were disappointed I thought I would give it a chance as many of them seemed to have used it in a half-hearted static arrangement and, hey, what's to lose, it's as cheap as chips or even cheaper. To protect my wisteria covered pergola against the flock of pidgeons that ate every flowering bud last year and ruined the display of blossoms I spent a lot of time arranging mutiple strips of tape on upright and horizontal bamboo canes, some more than a metre long, others a little less. Perhaps 50 strips in all an a dynamic arrangement. Once set up, the slightest breeze resulted in myriad flashing reflections and a confusion of rattles, cracks and whooshes. Not one pidgeon landed, they were so distracted and scared. Today, as the wisteria comes into full bloom the holographic tape comes down having done a perfect job. Recommended; it really does work if you make the effort.

Just didn't work
We bought this tape as we had been recommended it by someone who swears by it. They used it in long strips to stop pigeons/birds getting on to an enclosed decking area. I think it worked because the birds did not want to fly through the strips of tape. But for us it just did not work. We needed it to stop pigeons pooing all over the kids trampoline! First of all I hung 120cm strips of tape (hanging down) all round the top bars of the trampoline. This did nothing. So I halved all the strips so there were now twice as many. Still did nothing. I then got more long strips to combine with the short ones. Then I folded long strips up (like you might make a fan with napkins)so they could be a bit like spikes and then lay them all over the tops of the trampoline bars - thinking ha ha the pigeons will never land on there now. So wrong. They just sat there right on the tape. When it was really quite windy the tape would flap away and the spikey tape on the top would move up and down and this was the only time that the pigeons stayed away. I'm hoping that next year when all the birds come back after winter they decide to just avoid our house!!
