Xerox Performer Multifunction Paper, 80gsm, A4, 1 Carton, 5 Reams, 2500 Sheets, 5 Reams per Carton

perfect for purpose

When in charge of ordering office supplies, I would always choose Xerox paper for our photocopiers and mono laser printers for use when headed paper was not appropriate. The product worked well for both tasks and was also sometimes used for supplementary pages for longer documents. I also chose Xerox materials for my personal use at home, whenever possible, and found the surfaces usually slightly smoother and whiter than many apparently similar materials, including those considerably more expensive. As my local newsagent charges more than £6 per ream for an anonymous product which is off-white, with a defined curl and poor surface texture, one pack purchased as a last resort in an emergency was enough to cause me to seek a familiar product. As the stationery supplier I always used in the past does not now stock the brand but many others that I do not know, I was pleased to find Xerox being sold on Amazon. At a price for 5 packs not too far beyond that often charged locally for one, it was an easy task to place the order. Packed in the usual nylon-strapped cardboard sleeves, the paper is suited for use in the office or for personal use at home. It will work with colour lasers and inkjet printers for non-critical work but is not intended for photo printing with any type of printer.

I have always used Xerox paper in my Xerox printer, because I find it is reliable. It don't jam or misfeed, gives me great prints every time from all of my printers. I use an Epson inkjet, a Xerox mono laser and a Xerox thermal wax printer. Each ream is wrapped in plastic/cellophane, which helps keep the paper dry until needed.

I should state that I worked for xerox more than twenty years ago to give context for my review. I purchased Xerox performer as a positive choice based on my knowledge of the product - I sold tons of this to government and military contracts in the UK. It's the best economy copier/inkjet paper that I have seen tested in the lab. The fibre structure in performer differs from higher grades - hence the lower price. If you hold the sheet to the light, the paper won't be uniform. For a high grade, smooth paper, use premier or colotech with copier printers. It works well in our home inkjet printers for everyday use. It's not for presentation media or CV's. Pretty good colour grade. It's a standard 80gsm. We've all used it. It works and doesn't have cutting dust in the pack. Just a word of advice - don't take it out of the wrapper and store it dry. Paper absorbs environmental humidity and reduces its printing quality in both inkjet and laser printing.

Have had this paper before from a local supplier, so I knew what I was buying. The price is good for the box and am happy with the way it performs in our company printer/copiers. The paper is a good whiteness, have no problem with that. The central main office printer is used a lot and it doesn't jam or 'waffle'. So in all a good buy and will purchase again as long as the price remains right.

Only had to use a few pages at the moment, seems decent enough quality as you would expect from a branded product. Not tried printing any photos within any documents at the moment just text, all seems ok. Buying a full box of 5 reams brought the cost to the same value per ream as you would get in a supermarket for an unbranded item so all in all pleased with the purchase. Only giving the item 4 stars at the moment shouldn't put anyone off, it is simply that I have not put enough through the printer to check feeder etc., I just wanted to be fair to the brand and any future purchasers.
