Having tried much of Slimfast range, it was time to see if chocolate variant live to expectations. Spoiler alert: Yes it does, very much so. Succinctly brought together, this blend offer optimal level of vitamin and mineral content that suit nutritional needs of those seeking specific dietary changes. Key takeaway will be that 15g protein is in inclusion. With 204 kcal per serving, it is this knowledge that puts you at ease that indeed you make fine choices. So guidelines is as follows: To manage weight is recommend as to swap 1 meal for 1 SF product or to lose weight, then consumption it is 3 x 100kcal snack, 2 SF drinks (or bar) and 1 balanced meal. So be confident with this that 1 shake is supporting your metabolism and immunity. Also is gut friendly, whilst fighting fatigue. All of this information is really good to know and it puts this brand in position of quality performance throughout. . 5* for the taste. My usage will be different to the majority of buyers here. On Hospital instructions I had to drink four of these per day over a 14-day period plus 2lt of water a day, as a pre-Operation Liver Reducing Diet for Gallbladder removal following Acute Pancreatitis. I did so for a week and then my Op was cancelled for a week and so I was told to come off of it for just 2-days and then start again. My Operation was halted whilst I was under General Anaesthetic due to a rapid rise in my heart rate. I have to have checks and then have the Operation. But I will NOT do this diet again. As there is no fibre in SlimFast the ensuing constipation was absolutely horrendous. Such pain. Totally compacted. Took three days of agony and prescribed Laxido to begin to improve. In the meantime I was off-my-head in agony. I have since found that there is a more ‘normal’ diet one can follow and so I will be doing that when I am to be re admitted, but with extra spinach ‘just in case’! As I said, not a normal review of the product and not the normal way to use it, but a friend and a colleague have both had Gallbladder surgery since my experience and so they were aware of my horror story and was able to avoid the same experience. The Shakes are all very tasty (Chocolate was my favourite) and I’m sure that as part of a properly controlled varied diet regime they work well and will lead to success. This is just a warning to avoid if doing a pre-Operation Liver Reducing Diet. .

The flavour is ok, but not particularly choclaty! I'm currently doing the liver reduction diet prior to keyhole surgery. I was concerned initially as the tinned slim fast powder that you mixed at home, gave me terrible side effects. These ready mix bottles haven't given me any, which I'm relieved about. The price is also great, considering I'm drinking 5 a day..

Sugar free not too sweet smooth taste good

Like the ones you buy in shops. Tastes the same, fills you the same, same consistency. What else can I say about these really.

I have been on slimfast for years. I had lapband And need the protein. I come to the UK to visit. No slimfast anywhere. So from my hotel they deliver it. This is the only protein drink that I actually like. It has a great taste.

There’s a lot of stigma with Slim Fast shakes. I’m guilty of mocking people who drank them in the past, while at the same time knocking back protein shakes which aren’t vastly different. Even now I still feel a little self-conscious when I buy these things in the shops. Why? I’m a 40-year-old man, fit and active and lead a hectic life at times, and I’m not always in a position to stop and have a proper meal at lunch or breakfast. I keep a close eye on my diet, for no other reason than to maintain a healthy balance, or bring my weight down a little after the BBQ or Christmas/Easter season. I’ve been using MyFitness Pal for 9 years, and having a similar app to manage your dietary intake is the single biggest piece of advice I can give for weight management. I don’t eat salads, but I do eat a lot of fruit, meat and high carb meals such as pasta to fuel my running/walking/cycling/racquet sports etc. Where Slim Fast shakes help is that I can drink one of these at breakfast and it’ll happily get me through the morning without feeling hungry, and/or one at lunch with some fruit and that’ll get me through till my evening meal. They’re much lower in calories and fat then the breakfast bars I would otherwise have in the morning, or the porridge or rice I’d have at lunch. Plus, they’ve got a good chunk of protein in them without the calorie hit you get from protein shakes. Taste wise, I find the chocolate one the most palatable. Really quite tasty in fact. The strawberry and latte ones are good too. I prefer to have the ready-made shakes as they’re grab-and-go, but they are very expensive. Anything up to £2 per bottle if bought individually, or approaching £10 for a pack of six. But they are convenient. The cheaper alternative is the powders that you make up yourself. You have to factor in the additional cost of whatever milk you choose to use; I find almond or cashew milk a good option. You also need to put some effort in to getting it smooth. If you have a proper protein shaker then use that. You’ll never get it smooth with a fork or hand whisk. I tend to whisk it together in a mixing jug and then put it into a thermos flask and shake the heck out of it for a minute. The beauty of having these as a meal replacement is that you can then supplement your diet with more fruit (during the day I’ll have a banana, apple, strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, cherries and grapes, often as an evening snack with Skyr yoghurt and oats) and leave room for a good solid evening meal like a big bowl of pasta or stir fry. All good diets are based on exercise and a balanced diet that gives you the proper fuels to power that exercise, and Slim Fast helps gives you the space to do that.

Delicious! I love the taste of this thick, creamy shake. It’s the perfect size for being a filling meal replacement without being too big and sickly. I love the protein content and vitamins. They are a really good size to pop in your bag for lunch.
