It's a child's size. I bought it for our 5 year old some after a bad arm break. Much more comfortable than the hospital types. Can definitely recommend buying

does this is useable while the wearer is sleeping ?

Possibly, my little boy didn't wear it in bed as it is a little 'bulky' , I used a fabric triangular bandage sling at night, so that he could have his arm secure inside his pyjama top, this also restricted his movement of his shoulder when he was asleep.
