A must-have product for your car
This is a great piece of kit to have in the boot of your car....... We use the air compressor about once a week to increase the tyre pressure on our car tyres. With a lot of pot holes around, the tyre pressure seems to deflate quite regular and the warning light in our car alerts us to this. The air compressor is really easy to use: - Plug into the car's socket (cigarette lighter) - Turn the dial to preset the desired tyre pressure - Press start The air compressor reaches the required tyre pressure in little to no time and the machine automatically stops when the desire pressure is reached. The product also has some extra little features which are convenient.... - An LED light and backlit digital display which is convenient for night time use - SOS setting to warn other drivers should you happen to be stranded on the side of the road with a flat tyre - A very handy little zipped case to store the product in I am very impressed with this product and feel that it is very durable and great value for money. I can see us using this product happily for many years to come.

An improved model of an already good tyre inflator
We used to have an earlier model of this machine until we lost it while on holiday. We liked it well enough to replace it with this RAC635 and have found with surprise a considerable improvement. There is a more powerful pump, so inflation is very quick. I used to find the controls on the RAC630 a little difficult to follow but in this model operation is straightforward and intuitive; you set the pressure, touch the on switch and off it goes, stopping automatically at just over the target to allow for a little loss of air during disconnection. Large numerals indicate the actual pressure (except that they show the target when you are setting it) but small figures above them always show the target pressure. You know where you are, which gives confidence. I think the manufacturers must have been paying attention to customer feedback; a good sign of careful design. We always preferred the screw-on connectors which the Ring has, finding them easier to use and less likely to break. Even with my less than nimble arthritic finger tips, I still have no difficulty handling them. Moving our tyre pressures up and down for a heavily loaded holiday trip was no trouble and almost a pleasure. I have no hesitation in recommending this well-built tyre inflator.

Easy to use and does what it's meant to
Comes in a smart rectangular sturdy bag and, therefore, easy to store in the car. The lead is long enough to enable the unit to be close to both front and rear tyres and works from the car's cigarette lighter hole. Easy to set to the pressure you need and works well. The actual fitting to the tyre valve has to be screwed on and off so you can loose a small amount of pressure when removing it. I, therefore, set it slightly higher to account for this, It's quick and quite quiet. It cuts out when the required pressure is obtained and that pressure is shown on the digital display. You can switch on a light if you need to use it in the dark and if used by the side of the road you can switch it to either a red light or a flashing red light. So far I have only used it to check my tyre pressures and they all needed just a small amount of air put into them and that just took a few seconds. My first Impressions of this product are very good.

Great little piece of Kit
I bought this three years ago and it works like a dream for such a small piece of kit. I just do not understand the negative reviews. The screw-fit to the tyre valve makes sure you have a tight seal, unlike my THREE previous tyre inflators which hissed air like Priti Patel. You DO NOT lose lots of air. You lose no more than you would in a garage forecourt - which is not a lot. I have never had a problem with the cigarette lighter connection to my Lexus so only imagine A) other cars have shity cigarette lighter connections B) the 'reviews' are fake. This little machine has kept my tyres inflated all through Covid-19 and is still working. It has generous amounts of wire and hose and I have never had a problem connecting, inflating and driving away. It is not noisy compared to some and works in the rain! I was initially worried about this but it has powered through many a downpour. If any of my neighbours have flats they come to me now!! (Maybe I should charge them!). I did not expect it to be so robust but it is. Along with my solar-powered battery top-up device, this keeps me worry-free and on the road. I highly recommend it.

Awful, Cheap, Plastic Rubbish
Save yourself the hassle, it's just not worth it. As soon as you open the thing you regret it as it looks and feels like a children's toy rather than reliable bit of kit. It manages to looks even worse than it does in the pictures. I returned it within about 10 minutes of opening and using, or at least trying to use. With it hooked up, switched on and making a horrendous noise, nothing really seemed to be happening. The display constantly read the same pressure for a few minutes before I gave up packed it away. I guess others seem to have had success with this thing due to the 4-odd star average reviews but I certainly did not. If it'd been priced at sub £15 I would be more forgiving but for £30 it needs to be a damn sight better quality. Also the noise this thing makes is ridiculous. Obviously you expect a bit of noise but after purchasing the "AstroAI Air Compressor Portable Pump, 150 PSI 12V Electric Digital Tyre Inflator" I can confirm that the noise on this was excessive. As mentioned, do yourself a favour and get the AstroAI Air Compressor Portable Pump, 150 PSI 12V Electric Digital Tyre Inflator. Amazon seem to be burying that one in their search results at the moment but it's been an absolute joy to use by comparison. It feels solid, got all the tyres up to pressure in the same time it took me to faff about with just trying to do one with the RING RAC635. Also at the moment it's virtually the same price as the RING (though appears to be normally about £15 more), so snap one up quick! Also pair with the RACE X RX0014 Tyre Pressure Gauge and you won't go far wrong.

Good quality product that is easy to use.
I have used the RAC 635 tyre inflator for the first time and was impressed by the build quality and ease of use. A tyre on my sons peugot 207 had very low pressure at only 11 psi !! but took only a couple of minutes to inflate to the correct pressure. The unit I think was fairly quiet in operation and the screw on connector to the tyre valve did the job without losing any psi on removal. I also liked the deflate button so you can easily deflate the tyre a little if need be. I checked the units pressure against a manual pcl tyre pressure guage and found it was only 1-2 psi difference. (The manual does state you will be one or two psi plus or minus using the unit). So overall I'm very pleased with this pump, I have a shingle driveway so not that easy to use a foot pump and for me having a heart condition an effortless experience using the pump. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a well made 12v inflator at a reasonable price.

It's nicely packaged in a tight snug fitting zip case
I've had the ring RAC635 since the 24th of June so I've left it till this time before writing a review as needed time to use it etc, as normal it came on time and well packaged. It's nicely packaged in a tight snug fitting zip case, I've got a fiesta 15 plate and wouldn't fit into the glove box but I'd imagine it would fit into bigger vehicles glove boxes without a problem but it wasn't a problem for me really not a deal breaker as put it into the boot. The cable was more than long enough as any longer you'd have to have a bigger compressor and it plugs into my 12v socket it's a nice enough fit just make sure it's securely pushed in and there's enough cable to reach front left back left through the passenger door and same again through drivers door. The tyre pressure is easy and straight forward to adjust, my pressures are 33 - 26 and i actually set the gauge to those settings some people may put the gauge at say 33.5 - 26.5 to compensate for the slight air loss you may occur while screwing and unscrewing the nozzle of the flexible cable, some prefer the old fashioned push on and clip over nozzle but this isn't a problem really you have a slight loss of air depending on how quick or slow you are in unscrewing the cap of the cable, I'd imagine if you've got big builders hands and fingers then you might be that bit slower in unscrewing the cap so maybe put an extra 0.5 to compensate. As far as I'm aware the readings are correct and i haven't bothered buying a tyre pressure gauge to test if the pressures are correct as who's to say the gouge is correct !! I've checked the tyre pressures today and what i tend to do now is if the pressure is say 0.5 or 1.0 below the compressor tends not to kick in so i let a bit of air out say if it should be 33 and there's 32 i drop the air down to 29 and blow up to the 33 so i know it's spot on again, you don't have to do this but it just makes me know that I've got the full 33 psi in my tyre. Once your done the cable fits nicely inside the end of the compressor, there's no lid but it never comes back out so not a problem and the 12v cable wraps around the back and clips into the centre of the compressor. There is a Velcro strip that holds it all in once wrapped up which is handy but found it annoying once unwrapped as kept getting in the way or sticking it self to my car seats so for this reason i cut it off but it doesn't stop the cable from been tidy and it fits nicely away in the zip case, hope this review helps and in conclusion it's a good price works well and i personally prefer the digital read out to the old gauge read outs.

Pleased I bought it. Buy with your eyes open, but still recommended.
Disclaimer: I generally don't know what I'm doing. Honestly, I really don't. If you are in the same situation, hopefully this helps you and sets your mind at ease. Overall: If you have read other reviews, there are some flaws to the design. The screwing and unscrewing is prone to allowing some air to escape. Overall though? Its a very handy, useful addition to have in the car for that really rubbish moment. Buy it, try it, and leave it in the car for when you need it. Packaging and Postage: Standard Prime. So a robust box, delivered the next day and with the compressor packed safely inside. First Impressions: Good! Its well presented in a nice fabric tote bag/case. It doesn't look too complicated and is exactly as presented on Amazon. Only negative is that the instructions are picture only. Unless you look at it the other way, and that is that it's so easy to use - pictures can detail the process. Design: This is one of the major sticking points of many of the reviews here. The screw on/off of the valve means that at a point, there is air escaping. I would suggest that if you are *that* worried, increase it by 0.5psi. Honestly, the amount of air that will escape whilst unscrewing it will be minimal. The design isn't *that* bad! Other than that, decent clear controls. The torch is brilliant especially since I've just used it in the dark. The cable is nice and long and also the cable management (ie how to store it!) is decent. Both the power cable, which stores at the back, and the air hose store easily enough. The photos are after I used it. Use: Plug it into the 12v socket. Screw onto wheel. Change the required PSI by twiddling the knob. Press the power button. Watch the pressure rise. It really is easy. I have to admit, I didn't let it auto shut off, so I'm not sure whether that will be detrimental - I was watching it and I didn't want to wait. Longevity: I can't answer this yet, but I will keep a close eye on it since so many have raised concerns. At the moment, yes - it isn't the highest quality brushed aluminium switches. It isn't a hard wearing robust sturdy compressor. But it is one of the cheapest. And it is perfect for leaving in the car for the odd time you need it.
