This phone holder is a great little gadget and just what I was looking for. I had my reservations as to the effectiveness of the magnet and whether it might affect the functionality of my phone, however after a few weeks of using this holder twice daily on a medium commute to and from work on all sorts of road surfaces, speed bumps etc. I am pleased to report that my phone (Samsung Galaxy S4) has not once fallen off and I haven't noted any adverse affects on my phone. The holder itself fits very snug into my air vent (there is the option of two different thicknesses for different styles of vent which I liked) and the magnet slides very comfortably into both the gap between my phone and it's case, and the back cover of my phone and the battery (I tried both options). I would definitely recommend this product, so much so that I bought a second one for my husbands car (he has the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 which is a huge phone and also reports no issues with the magnet strength when holding his much heavier phone than mine!).

There are very few cheap plastic gadgets that make any lasting impact on me, but this is definitely one.I was changing my car (to a Toyota Yaris Hybrid) and had decided to save the additional £650 on a built-in sat nav system.Instead I decided that the Sygic satnav app in my Samsung Galaxy Note 3 could do the job equally well.My problem was finding somewhere appropriate on my dash board that would not be thrown back in my face should the car's 7 airbags deploy.After some searching I discovered this simple way of mounting my phone, still it's protective case, to the dashboard air vents.And it works brilliantly.I'm fortunate to have individual heating controls fitted, enabling me to turn down the air temperature blowing onto the rear of the phone case.No adhesive required, I just slipped one of the enclosed 3 metal plates into the business card slot inside the phone's protective case and mounted it against the magnetic head of the mount. So far it hasn't moved even a fraction under cornering and braking.What a great idea! What a saving!

This mount works really well for my iPhone 6 Plus. I was worried that it would not be strong enough to hold a big phone but once I had sorted one issue it has worked well.I have an ottorbox case on my phone and the metal piece that you put between the case and phone did not stick to the magnet at all. Luckily they supply an external round disc that sticks onto the back of the phone or case. It is not ideal as I would rather have the internal strip work purely for cosmetic reasons.After a couple of days' use the phone fell off the mount when driving and the disc would not stick well to the back of the phone case even though I had taken the time to clean it and make sure there were no oils on the case.I have solved this with some superglue but obviously this has made the disc a permanent feature now. This is not really a problem as the disc is very thin and doesn't catch on pockets or anything like that but it does mean that the phone will rock back and forth slightly if placed on a flat surface.Overall very pleased with this product and would recommend it.

The grip is cleverly designed and strong. I had it on two different vents using the wide and narrow grips.However, disappointingly the problem I had was with the adhesive on the plate! I dont have a case nor can I remove the back of my phone so I had to use the adhesive plate. The plate comes off the phone and stays on the grip magnet when you try to remove it from the holder. Now having reattached it a couple of times it just falls off.Shame as its a good idea and will be fine for those with cases or removable backs but for a bit of poor execution it doesn't fulfil its promise.

This product has incredible potential to change driving habits for motorists who tend to pick up their phone intermittently, even if it is just to look at lock screen notifications. The product is well made and has a good feel and look to it, giving a durable impression. There are three metallic plates provided along with the air vent mount. The pricing point for this is spot on and in comparison to various other devices which hold phones to the screen, this feels like a more premium product which takes up less space, costs less, and is far more stylish.Unfortunately, there are two flaws with this product:1. The air vent mount 'prongs' are too short and do not work in all car models. I own an Audi with standard Audi air vents which are circular in design. The prongs do not extend far enough in to the vent and thus the mount does not remain securely held. I imagine that other cars with fancy air vent designs may suffer from a similar problem and it may be prudent to see whether other users have successfully managed to use this device before purchase.2. Phones are tending to get larger and in most cases, heavier. Coupled with the additional weight of a case, the magnetic strength holding the phone to the mount is only just sufficient for some larger phones (I have the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge and this only just holds on to the mount - magnet placed between case and phone). Having tested various phones from various brands, it seems that this device will hold perfectly well up to and around the 5.5" screen size (although the iPhone 6 Plus sticks really well with a silicone case) before starting to lose magnetic strength.For the majority of users, the above issues will not be a problem and I would fully recommend this to friends who would find it suitable. However, with the product currently sitting unusable in my Audi's glove-box, I can only give this 3 stars currently.
