The person using this watch has bought the same watch for years and years. This is the £9.99 model. It is worn all day, 365 days a year. It is used for outside and inside work, in all weathers and, very importantly, as a runners stopwatch. He has come back off a run drenched from rain or just sweat and this watch just keeps on working! It isn’t one of those all singing all dancing watches that does everything but make breakfast. It is an everyday workhorse. It is a simple stopwatch, it has a backlight button, it gives you the day and date and it tells you the time. What more could you ask for? The facts that tip this watch into the extraordinary category are that it is sturdy but not huge or bulky like a lot of watches of this type. It has always kept to the correct time, NEVER running slow or fast. And for a price that is less than the cost of a new strap or battery!! Amazing! The reason for buying this replacement is the strap on the old watch has split, the watch itself is still running perfectly but it is just cheaper to buy a new one. The old watch was just over 7 years old. The previous one to that was a bit older and was also replaced because of the strap. We don’t believe there is a flaw in the strap. The watches are subjected to an awful lot of sweat several times a week which tends to EVENTUALLY weaken them. I believe these watches come in several colours and also in metal although the price is more. They are suitable for women as well. We have road tested this exact watch for years and years. The watch itself has never failed. The price has barely increased in all that time. It is still one of the least expensive watches there are. £10 for battery driven item used 365 days a year and which lasts for 7+ years without breaking down or battery failure is remarkable. I don’t believe you can better this anywhere. Buy one.

Got this a couple of weeks ago and I am impressed. I mainly use this during sport or in the gym which makes the stopwatch function really useful. It doesn't have all the dials in the world like other watches do, it's just a plain, simple, retro design that in my eyes looks quite pretty. It's very light compared with some of my other watches and only weighs a few grams. I use it when I am kayaking which means that the water resistant feature gets tested a lot and after a few sessions I have been impressed as it held up to its claim whilst being so cheap. I'm not so sure how this would do swimming as it would be constantly under water yet for my use it is perfect. Don't let the price make you think this isn't a good watch, it is. As cheap, disposable, retro looking watches go this has to be the one. UPDATE 02/05/17: This has to be my favourite watch by far, it's easy to use, water resistant and has held up well after 10 months of near daily use both on and off the water. The claims that it is "splash proof" is a lie as this has been fully submerged in water and I have showered in it also. Overall I would recommend this watch for everybody.

I own a number of watches, I suppose I am a collector of sorts! and I have recently taken a shine to Casio's older retro style watch types. I am very happy with my recent purchase and for the price paid for this watch I have no complaints whatsoever, like the majority of reviews. In fact for the price paid I am very impressed and the watch is exactly like the picture and as described. Really cool, old school retro look. After making my purchase I became concerned after reading some of the negative reviews, in particular the ones which claim this product is counterfeit. I really don't know why people are saying this or what their agenda is, maybe they are competing sellers! I would like to confirm the watch I received was a 100% genuine Casio product. I received it properly packaged with instructions, warranties and registration details. I watched U tube videos telling you how to spot fakes and all I can say is the product is totally legit. Some reviews have complained the watch has a cheap look and feel to it! To these people I say, if you pay £6.99 for a watch, personally my hopes would not be astronomical! Some people clearly expect too much! It is what it is, a cool, retro, old school Casio. If this is what you are looking for, buy it and if the battery in the watch lasts half the time Casio claims it does it will be worth it. Some reviews have have complained that the watch looks too small on the wrist. Again it is what it is! I have a number of large oversized watches like G-shocks which I enjoy wearing. So in comparison, yes this watch is smaller but it's just a matter of getting used to it and it looks well on the wrist. The size of the strap is fine too unlike some negative reviews have said. I would say my wrist is bigger than average and I can close the strap with 3 notches to spare and it fits well on my wrist and is comfortable. The last criticism I would like to mention which is common in the negative reviews I read is the "Water Resist" aspect of the watch. People have claimed they submerged the watch in a bath and it broke! Of course it did! To educate these individuals, a water resistant watch without a depth indication is designed to withstand accidental splashes of water only. You should not submerge such a watch in water at any time! Alas, with the negative criticisms dispelled, who would I recommend this watch to? Anybody really to be honest! Male or female, any age! Whatever your reason for purchasing this watch, at the price you don't have much to lose and in my experience any genuine Casio product is of a high standard and lasts.

I bought this cheap, cheerful and reliable watch last year. It's the 3rd I have bought in the past 15 years or so and it is the first which came with a problem. That problem is the light which is supposed to illuminate the face at night. The light in this one is faulty and just does not provide enough light to see anything at night. It has never worked. That is frustrating because the light in my older watch is still working well. Apart from that gliche it is a great little watch which I wear every day. All of these watches come with a built-in problem with the plastic strap. Sooner or later it will snap at or near the fastening point. But that takes time to happen and so far this one is fine. I repaired my older watchstrap with superglue and that repair endured for 6 months. Now it needs a new strap and most strap options cost more than a replacement watch. I used an 'Animal' fabric watch strap for my 1st casio watch and will probably rrecycle it now to the 2nd. Despite this built-in failure I do like these little watches and can recommend them. UPDATE 22 August 2015 - my watch strapped snapped today across the point of weakness where it fastens. This has happened with all of these watches I have owned. Shame they cannot attach better straps which are not designed to fail. Apart from that the watch is still going strong and accurately. I have repaired it with some superglue and plastic tape which will last for a few months I suppose. After that I will just have to attach one on my 'Animal' fabric straps.

I am a big watch lover. Over the years, I've been lucky enough to collect a handful of beautiful swiss-made timepieces. I've now started to buy and review some of the most popular, most affordable (under £20) watches on Amazon. I'd like to share with you my personal thoughts on the 'Casio F-91W Digital Watch with Resin Strap'. DELIVERY Excellent. The watch was delivered very fast via Amazon Prime. PACKAGING OK. The box arrived a bit squashed. Nothing too dramatic, but worth noting. The content was in perfect condition. CONTENT The following items were included in the box: the watch on a stand (well-wrapped in plastic). DESIGN If, just like me, you are used to substantial watches, you will find the watch very very light and thin. The case measures roughly 1.2 inches / 3 centimers, and you will find three actionable buttons (2 on the left, 1 on the right handside). It's rather small, so I wouldn't recommend it for people with larger wrists. The strap is made of plastic: it's both very thin and surprisingly comfortable, even after a long day. Once again, Casio demonstrates how experienced the company is to produce high volumes of very well-made, well-priced entry-level watches. FEATURES - time with 24h display option - date (just the day of the month and week) - daily alarm - stop watch - back light (no timer here, you will have to keep the top left button pressed to trigger it) - water resistance (even if Casio doesn't advertise it, in my tests the watch was able to function even being under water for 10mn) - long battery life (Casio announces 7-year, I can't vouch for that) CONCLUSION This is an excellent buy for anyone with fairly small wrists looking for a well-buit, durable watch with the most basic/useful features one might expect from their watch. It won't become my daily driver while at work, but I will certainly consider wearing it on vacation and at the weekend. TIP - keep a close look on the pricing which can vary quite a bit: I bought this Casio watch for £8.25 (on Amazon Prime), today it's available for only £6.89

I work as an activity instructor in the outdoor industry and these watches are as good as uniform. I once asked why everybody had one. The answer: They are incredibly cheap, waterproof and they do everything you might need. I've only had mine 6 months but it's taken some abuse and has a deep scratch on plastic housing to prove it. The screen though is still perfect which amazes me. I bought this because it had a stop watch and to stop me damaging my other watch but this is so comfortable and light to wear I only use this one! Part of me wants it to die so I can replace it with one in orange or green. If I'd known it was going to last so well I would have done so from the start. I've not been diving in this watch but I've been swimming in a lake, been out in some pretty nasty downpours and it's been in the shower everyday. No problem..not even with using buttons. I don't use the alarm at all. I have a clock to do that but should I need a reminder I would use it..not sure I would trust it to wake me up in the mornings. The stop watch runs for an hour on a loop. If like me, you use the stop watch a lot you are unlikely to get the 7 years out of the battery because the reset button and light are the same and the 7 year life is based on 1 sec light usage per day. If you want a functional watch that can take as much as you can throw at it go for one of these. If you break it you can always grab another because it's so cheap!

I purchased a watch for around £80 - only to find I didn't like it much; the strap wasn't great, it was mechanical, which meant that there was no battery, so if you didn't move around with it on - it lost charge and didn't tell the time! So I purchased this because the reviews were so good. Boy, was I happy to get this thing. For less than the price of a cinema ticket, you can buy this watch! It has alot going for it. It's water resistant, which means if you're in a rush for work (like I often am), you can jump in the shower and not have to worry at all. There is a stop watch, which I use to time myself at the gym, or when I go for a run. The backlight isn't great, but it's ok (what do you expect for the price!?). But overall, this is a retro watch which doesn't say "look at me, I cost £100+" - it just says "I'm retro...but i'm still cool." I've honestly had people comment on my watch and ask where i've got it from. It has an alarm and can beep every hour (I haven't set mine to do that though!). Overall, it's very difficult to pull this watch down. The watch strap is rubber, yet somehow doesn't feel extremely cheap? For the money, you're buying a nice looking, functional watch that will do you nicely and might even earn you some nice comments. Forget the expensive watches, this is where it's at. EDIT: still running on original battery in 2021, 7 years after purchase. I’ll update this review one day when the battery eventually dies

I bought this watch on 18th October 2014. It's been on my arm for at least 8 of those years. It's accurate. It's the best watch ever. The strap that comes with the watch is not comfortable, I use a NATO strap. Be sure to buy a different strap. Want to know what the time is? GET AN F91-W RIGHT NOW. The backlight is rubbish - but that's why the watch has lasted me almost 10 years so far on the original battery. Lights burn batteries. The stopwatch functionality is flawless. Reason I am writing this random review is - just seen a video online talking about most accurate watches and the F91-W was mentioned. It's been literally years since I set the time on it - can't remember even when I corrected the time on it. Checked a website for "time right now" - my wee F91-W is within 5 seconds of official time. And this is after years of not changing the time. Best watch ever :) When the battery on mine eventually runs out, it would be cheaper to buy a new watch. But this watch has been with me through thick and thin so I will rather pay to have a new battery installed.

This watch lasts a long time and has gone through alot, recently got same model to replace one that lasted 18 years... How does Casio even make money from this watch!!!

I love this. My 4 year old took it from me. Buying another one for sure.
