Derwent Drawing Pencil - Chinese White

Great pencil. It works better as a white pencil than FC Polychromos and is also good for blending pencil colours as it smoothes out fine lines.

I have a set of 12 Derewent inktense pencils that suit me just fine but there is no white in the mix - I was delighted to find I could buy a single pencil (even though it is not inktense) and chose this one based on the reviews. I want it mostly for highlighting/shading purposes on images on recycled brown card stock and it works beautifully - going heavily or lightly for highlighting/shading and sometimes blending a bit with an eraser, it's not noticeably oily/waxy and it sharpened just fine with my ordinary, good quality, sharpener. I love it.

I recently bought the 120 set of Polychromos coloured pencils and they are fantastic. However the white is next to useless. Okay, slight exaggeration but what it just will not do is show up over any other colour. What I really wanted was a white that would go over other colours for highlights and those whiskers/fine white hairs that it's so difficult to leave white. And this is it. I was advised to get the Luminescence white or the Derwent Drawing white and I opted to try this one first as it was cheaper. I could not be more happy. Granted it's not going to work like a gel pen or gouache or those other methods but it does go over colour and it can build up to be very bright. I added white to the nose of a portrait that has been sitting there awaiting highlights for a week and it really gave the picture life. As the title says, this pencil is fantastic. And Jacksons are as always brilliant. It felt odd buying from them via Amazon but I wanted the free postage, and their service is exemplary however you buy from them

This pencil is perfect for doing highlights on my pictures especially on lips on a portrait picture. I would get this pencil again when I need it.

Arrived earlier than expected which was great. Packaged well with protective wrap around the pencil. I bought the pencil to experiment on a grey toned Strathmore sketchbook as my previous white pencil was a bit dull on the paper. This one is a bit more vibrant as I had hoped and sharpens well. My only issue with it is, once sharpened to a point you need to careful not to apply too much pressure otherwise the tip will break, but other than that I am happy with this product.

I use this pencil for my highlighting in my colouring books and it is more subtle than the majority of the white pencils. I also find it nice to hold and although it is thicker it still sharpens in my ordinary sharpener

Great for adding highlights to eyes. Stands out.

I used this to draw a picture of our puppy on natural coloured paper. The pencil itself is heavy and thick - and feels nice in the hand. The pigment is strong and so you can get a wonderful effect when using it to draw. My only complaint is that you have to sharpen quite a lot of it away because the point is quite long - meaning that a lot is wasted to keep the tip sharp. I recommend this for all artists looking to try something else but traditional pencils or ink.

O que eu gostei muito foi do cuidado do vendedor, que embalou o produto muito bem. Comprei outro lápis em outro site e veio sem nenhuma proteção. Lápis está todo quebrando. Então proteger o lápis faz toda a diferença. Sobre o lápis, é o melhor lápis branco que já tive. Ele é macio e perfeito para efeitos de luz e sombra e esfumaçados.
