A length of speaker cable performed better than this aerial.

Rabbit ears work best in VHF countries, while the UK is a UHF country. The circular wire is for UHF, as America and some countries use both. However, although this aerial will work, it wouldn't be the best one to buy. *I haven't bought this aerial myself, but this is true for all rabbit ears in Britain.* ​Please note: This would be a good aerial if you're looking to use it for radio only, but it is not ideal for television in Britain.

It didn’t work for me since my TV tower was about 25 km away. I guess if you’re much closer, it might be worth buying.

Había comprado otras marcas con conectores a la luz para una mejor señal y nada muy decepcionante, cuando me encontré con la confiabilidad de Philips y sin dudarlo las compré, agarro hasta el triple de canales en México y con buena imagen sin distorsión después hasta compré hasta 5 antenas y sin duda lo mejor !!

No it's not working

J'ai recu cette antenne aujourd'hui.J'ai mis au poubelle mon ancienne antenne tv plate collée dans ma fenêtre.Avec mon ancienne antenne,je captais très précisément 2 postes(radio canada francais et radio canada anglais).Il y'avait aussi Noovo et Télé-Québec qui était reconnus lors du scan,mais ces deux chaines étaient pixelisés et n'arrivaient pas a demeurer stable. En installant l'antenne Philips dans ma fenêtre a l'aide d'un collant et après un premier scan,je capte très bien 5 chaines sans aucunes mauvaises réceptions.Je capte toujours les deux Radio Canada francais et anglais,je capte Télé-Québec et Noovo 5/5,mais j'ai lu sur le web que TVA devrais être capté dû à l'intensité de leur tour de diffusion,dans mon cas je ne le recois tout simplement pas.Apropos de l'antenne elle capte les ondes UHF et VHF grâce au deux tiges périscopiques et la tige ovale.Les antennes plates,elles c'est seulement les ondes VHF.Ce qui est de la réception,je suis sur la Rive-Nord de Montréal a peu près a 30-35 km des tours de transmission,soit dans la moyenne de distance par rapport aux tours. Pour le prix cette antenne est plus performante que celles vendus sur les sites chinois à 2-3 dollars.Ca vaut ce 20$.

Maybe it's not the most stylish, but after trying a couple of other modern versions such as the flat rectangle sheet style and the metal rod that LOOKS like it would be super effective and was weaker than the cheaper flat sheet style, (lol), I decided to try this one and...OH MAN - this thing works great! A new scan after I connected found about 20 additional channels on top of the channels that the weaker antennas found. It took a bit to find just the right spot, which is on the cabinet under the TV where I really didn't want it to sit. I was hoping to hide it behind the TV, but no worries - I simply sat it behind a picture. It's really pretty small anyway, not giant like the old rabbit ears from the 80's. Definitely go for this one and don't waste time with some of the other cheap rubbish being sold on this site!
