Product description clearly says this comes in Sky packaging, not that it’s an “official” Sky remote. It only arrived today and so far, it’s okay . Over 16 years with Sky I’ve had to replace the remote twice and each time had to programme it. Not difficult and I have to admit I was sceptical when I read this worked straight out of the box. It did. Everything else works fine except, like others who have purchased this, the volume button does not work. I can use the tv remote for that so don’t plan to return

I purchased this remote to replace my old one, it came via prime and when it arrived I simply swapped it out for the old one and it worked perfectly, I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was and can highly recommend this remote for your Sky box. It was an identical remote to my original with all the buttons in the same place and enabled a smooth transition for easy use.It connects perfectly and is exactly per spec.

Older SKY+ HD handset worked, but some buttons needed to be pressed a lot harder than others and repeatedly; this new one works beautifully. Batteries supplied inserted and it worked straight away, EXCEPT the volume buttons which I’d read was an issue on other reviews. Firstly, search for your ‘Sky Remote TV Brand 4 Digit Code’ on line. If you are using an older Sky+ HD or standard Sky remote then follow the instructions below: - ⁠Press the TV button at the top of your remote. - ⁠Press and hold the Select and Red buttons together until red light at top flashes twice. - ⁠Press the TV button again, then enter the 4-digit code (e.g., 0206). - ⁠Press the Standby/Power button on your remote. If the TV turns off, press Select to save the code. If it doesn't turn off, repeat the process with the next code. The code depends on which TV you have. Hope this helps 🙌🏽

What is the difference between this remote and the ones you buy in the shops? About £15 and not a lot else. With this one you get the remote and thats it, no packaging, no instructions and no batteries, but apart from that it is exactly the same as the ones supplied by Sky and manufactured by Phillips, at a much more reasonable price. The lack of instructions is easily overcome with a quick web search but I was fortunate enough not to need them as it worked straight out of the box for me. Just popped in a set of batteries and it works perfectly with my Samsung Sky HD box and Phillips TV. My old barely working held together with an elastic band remote went straight in the bin. Just a quick note about the non-Amazon supplier of this item. I ordered on a Friday mid-morning and got a confirmation saying it would be despatched on Monday, fair enough, but then it turned up first thing Saturday less than 24 hours after ordering. So all in all, highly recommended. This is the genuine article from a genuine supplier and if you want to spend twice as much to get exactly the same thing on the high street then you must have more money than sense.
