Extremely impressed for the price. Nice job Ticova!
I don't write many reviews but I really want to express how awesome this affordable chair is. I'll go into all the PROS and a couple little CONS for nit-pickers. Actually I think the only other review I wrote was a novel of a 1 star review on another chair I just returned, so this 5 stars is a HUGE deal. I got one of those $200 gaming chairs that recline, has a foot rest, the lumbar and head rest pillows, etc. Looked super nice and comfy but holy crap.. so far from comfy and the build quality was laughable. So many problems with that chair after only 3 months so I returned it. If you are at all thinking about buying one of those ~$200 gaming chairs with pillows, steer VERY FAR away from the idea and don't make the mistake I did. After a lot of researching, I came across a Youtube channel called BTODtv and they kept bringing this chair up as the best bang for your buck in many honest video reviews. Mind you, they have sat in and reviewed hundreds of chairs. Anyway, that is how I was led to this Ticova Ergonomic Mesh Office Chair. I am extremely satisfied and impressed to say the least and BTODtv is absolutely on point. I just got this chair today for $140 and I opted to get the $20 3 year accidental insurance. So a total of $160. It came in only one day with prime and I threw it together in literally15 minutes. It is extremely easy to put together. My last hunk of junk $200 gaming chair took 45 mins to put together only for it to start falling apart within months. The first time I sat down in the Ticova, I couldn't believe it. Seriously, I couldn't. I laughed at my wife because it surprised me with how comfortable it is. It is very comfortable and I was not expecting that for a $140 chair. After doing some more adjusting to my body shape, IT GOT EVEN MORE COMFORTABLE. I couldn't believe what I was feeling after coming from a $200 gaming chair that gave me loads of back pain for 3 months. Let's hop into the PROS of this chair. PROS: Seat Cushion - So far, it's quite comfortable after working on things for a few hours. No pain whatsoever. It actually feels like a true cushion and not some weird firm pad. My tailbone would already be hurting to the point where I'd have to stand up and walk around with the last gaming chair I had. I could only last MAYBE an hour in that junk. So it goes to show that the comfort of this chair is top-notch as a budget chair (even better than some $250-$300 chairs). Reclining Back - I really like the free-moving back rest this chair has, but you can lock it into a few different positions if you want. The nice thing about the free-moving reclining back is that it feels natural as you lean back, especially once you find the correct amount of tension for the reclining back. I have been just kicking back watching videos while my newborn is sleeping. I could probably nap in this if I put the reclining back tension down. Armrests - Another nice feature is how high the armrests go. These arm rest actually go high enough that you can rest your arms on (who would have thought?!). The last 2 chairs I've had in the past 5 years had incredibly low arm rests that were useless. But these ones on the Ticova are truly functional! Not to mention that they move forward and back a decent amount and can swivel them. Neato! Adjustable Lumbar - My last $200 gaming chair that I returned had an "adjustable" lumbar support pillow. It looked super comfy and nice in pictures, but absolutely sucked and that's an understatement. Well, fear no more. The Ticova has tried and true lumbar support that you can not only move up and down, but you can also increase or decrease the amount of lumbar you want. I can really fine tune it to my body shape and the nice thing is that the knob that increases or decreases the amount of lumbar support is easy access while sitting in the chair and feels nice. Adjustable Headrest - You can move the headrest up and down and angle it. It has enough padding on it to feel comfortable as well. They did a good job on keeping it comfortable while keeping the cost of the chair down. My last gaming chair had a very awkward headrest pillow that I swear tried pushing your cervical spine out of your neck. Anyway, not much else to say because it gets the job done. Ok, I've said a ton of good things about the Ticova, but here are just a couple slight cons for the nit-pickers out there. They aren't deal breakers for me though because I just came from a $200 chair that wanted you dead. CONS: Headrest: One thing I wish the headrest had was more forward or backward functionality. Tilting the head rest kind of puts it "forward or backward" but it's very miniscule. There are times in certain positions that it would be nice to have the headrest come a bit more forward towards the neck and other times it would be nice to move it backward away from the neck. It is also a bit wobbly (maybe this was on purpose so it felt like it could move with your head?) Not sure if it's a feature or budget cut, but I figured I'd add that too. It's not SO wobbly that it is annoying though. It's also hard to adjust the headrest height when you are sitting in the chair. I've already ripped the headrest off once because once a notch gives with the strength you have to move it, it can pop out the top as there isn't anything holding it in. These gripes aren't the biggest deals in the world because it's still quite comfortable and functional for what it is. Lumbar Support: Moving the lumbar support position up and down is tricky and loud. Maybe I can figure out a way to move it a bit better and quieter since I've only had it for a day. But if one of your kiddos is napping by you, I wouldn't recommend trying to move it (yes, I made that mistake and woke up my napping newborn because it was a loud thunk/click). I have to say I am really happy with this chair. It really is one of the best bangs for your buck office chairs, if not THE best. I am really hoping that this chair holds up for more than a year at least. So far the build quality is looking and feeling promising. As I mentioned earlier, I did get the 3 year protection plan for $20 because I was quite confident I was going to like the chair after watching many review videos on it. Glad I did!

Sturdy and comfortable but not wide
The chair itself was very easy to assemble and the instructions were even easier. Mind this next part as i may have to update, I am less then 24 hours from assembly. The seat is comfortable is seems to be good for long sessions of sitting for gaming and work my only issue is the arm rests are very close this chair is rated for 450lbs but no way someone that size would sit in it comfortably I am 350lbs and the arm rests touch my sides so it could be a little wider. With that being said ergonomically speaking from a massage therapists point of view it is quite good as the lumbar support and shape of the seat and back rest are very well shaped and allows for decent adjustment. I am 6' even and the lumber support is in the perfect position and isnt super soft but helps me sit straight. All in all I would def reccommend this chair so far. It is worth the price. Only test left in my book is time based to see how long it can hold up.

Fantastic value and great customer support. Highly recommend!
I purchased the Ticova Ergonomic Office Chair after seeing it on several videos and review sites best of lists. It shipped quickly, arrived undamaged, and was easy to assemble. It's highly adjustable, sturdy, and comfortable. I work in it every day and I am very happy with the purchase. I don’t normally review products, and I’m not writing this review specifically to recommend the chair itself (though I do recommend it unequivocally). Rather, I wanted to describe my experience with Ticova's customer support team. After I assembled the chair, the right armrest felt a bit looser than the left in that it wiggled a bit more side-to-side and up-and-down. It wasn't hugely significant, so I ignored it. After a few weeks, the right armrest's instability became more pronounced; it didn't render the chair unusable, but it was annoying and did affect typing accuracy and such. I decided to reach out to Ticova to see if I might be able to fix the issue somehow, or maybe even get a new armrest shipped to me (the entire arm attaches to the seat with 3 bolts, so it would be an easy switch). I contacted them through their amazon portal. I received a prompt reply via email asking me to describe my issue and include a video of the malfunction. I described my concerns, and how I hoped to resolve the situation, attached the hastily-shot iPhone video I’d taken, and emailed them back. They replied to me the very next day. Not to give me the run around, brush me off, or offer a token gesture, like one might expect. They just wanted to apologize for the issue and confirm my shipping information so that they could send me a new R armrest. Ticova's customer support team took the time and effort to engage with me and ensure that my issue was resolved. The replacement armrest arrived yesterday--it came very quickly, considering it shipped from China. I switched out the old for the new in about 5 minutes. It’s perfectly stable and works perfectly. If you have concerns about this product's quality or the company that manufactures it, I hope my experience helps put them to rest. This is a great chair. Even at full price, it’s an incredible value. I recommend both the chair and Ticova enthusiastically.

Great chair, until it's not.
When I first got the chair in May 2023 I thought it was a great value for the money. Comfortable and had no major issues using it for my home office chair sitting for 8+ hours a day. The only real thing I could complain about was that the armrests seem to be brittle and don't last for more than a year. Three years later, I found that the back of the chair is no longer straight. The issue appears to be that the base plate that the back attaches to via bolts has cracked. Warranty is only for 1 year. I know it's a budget chair and all but I would have expected it to last longer than that. I would say it's worth it if you either 1) don't lean back often for 2) don't mind replacing your chair every 3 years.

How low will it go?
Update 7/22/2024: Had the chair over a year but probably only used it about 400 hours total. The seat isn't comfortable. It's definitely not memory foam. BUT: What prompted me to update my review was an injury I received. I grabbed a hold of the arm rest which was angled outward, and wrapped my fingers around it. I turned it "inward" and when I did so my fingertip was gobbled up between the very flat very sharp arm rest base, and the arm piece that rotates on top of it. Go ahead and look at it, and rub your fingertip up against it like the plastic razor it is. Anyway it pinched me good and cut a nice clean line. Hurt quite a bit and got the good dark blood out of it. Hindsight says do not buy. But at a hundred sixty five dollars or so it's not a terrible value. Just be careful of your fingertips. This was a bargain buy vs spending six hundred plus on a refurbished chair. It got some good reviews from BTOD on youtube. That's legit right? Anyway. It was easy to put together. Parts all seem high quality. The up/down is smooth. When I plop in the chair it absorbs nicely. The seat rotation is really smooth. The seat is firm, but giving, and feels supportive. The arms adjust they way 3d should. Headrest works when reclining. Oh yeah - the reclining is great in this chair. Anywhere from half to full loose is just great to lean back and easily stay there. This chair is very supportive and natural feeling, and therefore quite comfortable. It's not plush. It's just what you need, where you need it. I have only used for a short period of time so far but I will definitely be updating my review if my opinion changes. I thought this was a good deal at one fifty after coupon then I saw one thirty and now one twenty. Definitely a great deal at these prices.

It's fabulous in every way! Buy it already!
I'm 6'1" and about 190 lbs, I have lumbar and cervical spine damage and this chair is really comfortable to me (I like firm support and have good posture) with great lumbar support, and the headrest is just right for me. I was wondering if the headrest would be high enough and it definitely is. I think maybe even someone up to about 6'4" would find it adequate. The lumbar support adjusts forward and backward, the headrest is tilt adjustable, and both are both height adjustable. Armrests are really quick and easy to adjust. Leaning back is a totally silent operation (huge plus for me). I have no idea what the wheels are like because I installed some Office Oasis rollerblade style wheels and those are really quiet on wood and definitely worth the extra money. If being quiet is a factor for you, like me with an office in the bedroom, insomnia and a wife who is a light sleeper, leave the trim piece off of the center of the base as it just sits there and rattles easily, as far as I can tell. You will know it when you put it on as it fits really loosely and you will wonder if there is supposed to be some sort of way to secure it. Maybe there is a way to secure and I'm just not smart enough to figure it out, lol. That one piece would be my only complaint if I'm trying really hard to have a complain at all about the chair, which is very insignificant, and I simply knocked the air lift thing back out with a rubber mallet, removed that trim piece, reassembled and the chair is ultra stealth now. The build quality exceeded my expectations. I have been putting this purchase off for a really long time and I am glad I finally did it. My lower back is loving it. Now I can lean back and roll around a bit without having to cringe because I think I might wake the Kraken with my old creaking rumbling chair. This chair is a phenomenal value to me and I would recommend it to people with a light to average build who like to be firmly supported.

Comfortable
Pros: Easy to assemble. Headrest is perfect. Lumbar support is perfect. Seat cushion is cushiony. Cons: My feet don't touch the ground (I'm 5'3"). I kinda figured that was going to be the case so not the end of the world and not disappointing enough to lower the rating. The box was way heavier than I expected. Hauling it up three flights of stairs was a 2/10; do not recommend. I upgraded from my $50 staples desk chair which was terrible. The seat cushion broke does very quickly. The arms were not adjustable. There was minimal lumbar supports. So looking for a new chair I had a pretty good what features I needed. I went with this one because it was highly recommended on reddit and there's a $20 off coupon. Overall very happy with the chair. It's supper comfortable. I look forward to spending hours and hours in it gaming and doing homework.

Wanted to like it, but this product is seriously flawed
I had the chair for 2 days and in that time it experienced several annoying issues and discomforts. Starting with the positive, the seat is comfortable and the headrest is ok. The metal base assembly is strong too. The mesh back is ok but for the lumbar support which really jabs into your back. Though I was able to adjust that to a lower position and back, the overall contour of the chair doesn't support the lower back in a way that is pleasant. As for the negative aspects and why I'm returning it- the tilt adjustment tension is either on or off, there's no tension resistance, and this one just happened to get stuck in the recline position and the tilt "tension" knob will no longer adjust, it's just stuck in a recline position, so maybe I got a defective one. As for the design and build quality, the bolts which attach the back to the seat always come loose so there's significant play wobble which then forces you to get the wrench out and tighten things up - only it won't stay that way for long. The tilt lock and lift lever works ok for the lift, but there's no recline limiter so you're either sitting straight up or reclining way more than you'd like. I have literally spent just as much if not more time adjusting the chair and tightening the back back on as I did assembling it. My old Costco chair by contrast, though its uncomfortable it worked well for all these years. I am so disappointed because so many of reviews raved about this chair. Well, it's not at all what its cracked up to be. The poor design and build quality won't make it worth your time and money.

Much better than a gamer chair
I'd always wanted a good office chair for digital art and gaming. The go-to is always the gaming chairs that look like they came from a racing car, but after a lot of research I went with this one. I'm so glad that I did. It's very comfortable for long sessions, very customizable to fit your body and very easy to assemble. At first I wasn't sure about the mesh back support but it's so breathable and flexible, I'm totally sold. I expect to be using this chair for many years to come, I am very happy with this purchase.

Great office chair and customer support
I purchased this chair at the start of the year and have been very happy with the comfort and options. This offers the same comfort of higher value chairs but at a decent price. Half a year in, the reclining stop feature of the chair broke suddenly. I contacted the customer support and they sent me a new reclining mechanism within a week or so. Quick to respond and quick to resolve the issue. I am very happy with this purchase.
