Occer 12x25 Compact Binoculars for Adults and Kids

I bought these to take on an Alaskan cruise. A lot of people have bought them for the same reason and their comments helped me decide on these. I have a pair of Nikon Monarchs (M511) 10x42 that are excellent but they much more expensive ($300+). The Occer 12x25 binoculars are compact and easy to pack. They're also waterproof. They're just as clear as the Nikons but they are much more affordable ($30). Because they are smaller, yet similar in viewing quality of the Nikons, I will definitely be getting a second pair. They have eye relief eyecups meaning they twist in/out allowing for users to reduce the distance between their eyes and the lens. This is a must even though I don't wear glasses. Viewing with this feature is more comfortable and my eyelashes don't get in the way of the lens. Many of the small, compact binoculars don't have this feature. Many of the other binoculars feel cheap and more toy-like for kids. The Occer binoculars feel solid and very well made. The only thing that gave me pause was the magnification, once I used them. The Occer is 12x. My Nikons are 10x. The Nikons have more magnification. I would say the real numbers on the Occer are 8x25. Does this mean I wouldn't buy them again? NO. I'm going to buy a second pair for my son. I'll use the Nikons and my wife and son will use the Occers. If they want to view something with a little more magnification they can use my Nikons. For the size, easy of use, price, quality, and clarity the Occer 12x25 binoculars the best in my opinion. They fit the bill perfectly.

Purchased these for a recent Alaskan cruise and they did not disappoint. I used them from my balcony to get a better look at whales surfacing near my ship, on excursions to get a better look at eagles and eagles nests, and while viewing Hubbard glacier from my balcony. They are the perfect size to throw in my backpack, are easy to focus, did not fog up, and have a solid feel. Very happy with this purchase.

Great binoculars, quality, size and clear vision, but not easy to adjust in my eye frame and the vision circumference limits the image a little bit, need to manipulate very well to get all image frame. But overall is good product.

Good quality, compact binoculars. Perfect for throwing in a day pack. They were great for our Alaska trip. Bought 2 - should have gotten a 3rd pair as the one we already had ( different brand) were terrible. Would purchase again and recommend.

Wow, I thought I had realistic expectations as to the clarity of binoculars at this price point; but these Occers blew me away at how clean and crisp they are! I was replacing an old pair of twin tubed binos that got submerged in a lake, and figure for the price these were perfect if they functioned decently at this price point. To be honest, once I took them outside I was extremely impressed! I wouldn't call them disposable but I don't have to worry about them like ones that cost several hundred dollars more. If you're looking for a high quality but relatively inexpensive pair of binoculars, look no further! These will be going to baseball games and on hikes with me, they're absolutely perfect for my needs!

This review is for the Occer 12x25 Compact Binoculars. I own several pair of binoculars, although most are larger and more difficult to manage for children and people who are not use to working with binoculars in general. The Occer 12x25 binoculars are very light weight, the quality is fair for the price point, and the field of view is large, making them ideal for sporting events, nature walks and stargazing. The image is bright for having only 25MM objective lenses, with focusing dials in the center and right ocular lens (diopter focus). The eyepieces twist up and down for those who wear glasses, and those who do not. Be sure that each lens is adjusted to the same level to avoid eye strain. I normally turn the lenses down and back them up one turn at a time until they focus correctly for my eyes. I have a similar pair of Bushnell's that I've owned for over 35 years and still going strong. Both the Bushnell's and Occer Binoculars are constructed from rubber and durable ABS plastic. Overall these are good entry level binoculars for younger kids and adults just learning to use binoculars. If you do not have lofty expectations, these binoculars will do the job for both terrestrial and celestial viewing. I do not recommend using these binoculars in wet areas, or in environments with a high dew point. They are not nitrogen purged lenses and will most likely be negatively impacted by condensation.

These little binoculars are just as strong as the large ones we used for years (and lost). Very handy size; includes light strap for hikes, and case. No frills, not complicated. Good price.
