Perfect for Paw Prints and Spills
I really like having this as a supplemental mop for everyday messes. We have a galley-style kitchen that gets a lot of traffic since it’s the main route to the backyard, garage, and utility room, so there are constantly paw prints showing up on the floor. This is my second HydroVac. My first one stopped working within the first year, probably around six months in, which was disappointing. I contacted Shark support, though, and they were easy to work with while diagnosing the issue and ended up sending me a replacement. Unfortunately, they only had the light blue model available instead of the light green one I originally had, which was a bummer since the green matched my kitchen so well. Thankfully, I haven’t had any issues with the replacement despite giving it plenty of use. One of my favorite things is that it’s cordless, so I can grab it and quickly clean up a mess without having to deal with plugging anything in. The suction is also strong enough to pull up water really well, which is especially useful when one of the dogs knocks over the water bowl. It picks up muddy paw prints, kitchen spills, and standing water quickly without leaving me worried about moisture sitting on the floors. The self-cleaning feature is convenient and makes cleanup less unpleasant. For the price, I think it’s a good value for something I use as often as I do. I don’t think it completely replaces a traditional mop when it comes to a really thorough floor cleaning, but it’s incredibly useful for quick cleanups and keeping the floors looking decent between deeper cleaning sessions.

Clean the dirty water tank and rollers immediately!
This vacmop combo is fantastic. Simple, no frills effective cleaner. Super lightweight at about 8lbs, easy to maneuver, and the fact that I can clean hard floors and refresh my area rugs simultaneously is a win. Cleanup is surprisingly easy. Be sure to rinse the filter, empty and clean the dirty water tank immediately, and remove the roller to dry and wipe down the compartment of any residual debris. The solution that comes with it smells amazing. While is has a small tank, it is extremely efficient with water/solution management. While is lacks the bells and whistles of my Roborock Dyad Pro, the only real cons are the battery life/no swappable battery, edge cleaning, or air drying options or even a space for the brushroll to be placed on the base to dry manually. Fortunately I purchased a bundle with an extra roller. I was able to clean the 5 rooms of the first floor I need to before the charge ran out. Keep in mind that the self cleaning won't operate until it's recharged enough to power up. I really like cordless, but If you have a larger house, opt for the corded model instead.

Charging issues and short run time/Not dead
I bought this for light cleaning on a laminate floor in my kitchen/dining room. It is approximately 250 sq feet. I had intermittent charging problems from the beginning. I thought maybe it wasn't sitting correctly in the base. I thought maybe this was just a design flaw and dealt with it. Honestly, it was a pain to keep checking it, and adjusting how it was sitting in there. Even though it showed fully charged, it obviously was not. It worked long enough to clean a small area. but ran out of power, and it shut off. Again, I figured it did a portion of what I needed it to do, but was disappointed in the battery life. I'd recharge it and finish the other areas. I should add that the self cleaning function also worked intermittently which resulted in changing the roller often. I'm starting to think I received a lemon. I have not had this 6 months and do not use it more than a few times a week. Right before it died completely, while cleaning the same sq ft area, water started coming out of the vents, above the receptacle. It was obviously dirty water. (Yes, the dirty water receptacle was empty when I started). I pulled the receptacle out and put it back in, but was hesitant to try it without letting it "dry out." I let it dry out, even using the cool setting on my hair dryer, around the vents. 2 days later, I placed it back in the base to charge. The indicator light on the left side of the panel lit up as if it was still fully charged, then would shut off. I tried it again. It had limited power. It ran a few seconds, and shut off. The lights on the panel started flashing red. One indicator light says rug mode, and the other says receptacle full. I have never used the rug mode as I don't have rugs. The receptacle is completely empty. I'm the type of person who will not complain or send something back right away without troubleshooting it. I've been troubleshooting this for awhile. I've even watched various YouTube videos, but can't figure out the problem. Of course I do not have the box to send it back at this point. Guess I should have returned it immediately instead of assuming it was a design flaw, and had a very short battery life. I am planning on contacting Shark Customer Service. However, I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this?? Update: just got off the phone with customer support. After she connected to my phone via video, she watched me go through the various troubleshooting steps available to her. The final result was to buy another roller and a new plastic roller cover for something that has never worked properly. I don't believe a new roller (I have extra used ones than are clean) and a new plastic roller cover is going to solve a charging and short run time issue. And, of course the not running for more than 3 seconds now. But, I will also bite the bullet and follow the instructions so that I can call back again and go through another 30 min video call that probably will not solve the problem. I also showed her the problem of it lighting up in the base and then turning off. My advice: either don't buy it or send it back right away if you experience any issues. I will not be purchasing another Shark product.

Loved it when it worked
EDIT: Shark did send a replacement body in response to the problem with the sprayer. I received that body in January. Last week the replacement did the exact same thing. This time around with telephone support it did not take the hours it did last time. So maybe I just hit them at a very bad time last time? Anyway, the representative said not to worry, they will send a replacement unit, not just the body. I received email confirmation before I hung up and all was swell.... Until the next day when I got the email saying that that had been canceled. Back on the phone with customer service. Again avery pleasant and shorter experience than last month. I was told by this one that the reason the order for the replacement was canceled was that the model was no longer made. Instead they would ship me an upgraded version. An email confirmation was sent before I hung up the phone but I was a little leery. Were they cancel it again the next day? I got a little confused later in the day when a second order confirmation was sent for the replacement. Even more so that when it shipped I received two separate tracking numbers. Sure enough, today I received two new units. These aren't upgrades. They are identical units to the original that lasted almost 3 months, the second just shy of the month before having the same problems. Lest lightning strike me dead,of course I got back on the phone with customer service. I was told to just keep both units in case one went bad in a few months. That would save me the phone call for replacement. They don't have a mechanism for returning a duplicate shipment. Trying to return it would trigger the shipping of a replacement unit for it . I guess the purpose of this edit is to put it out there in the cosmos that we are not trying to steal from Shark and we did try to do the right thing. Shark can always find us through their own records and reach out. We don't need two so one of them is sitting unopened and it's original box and shipping box just in case. Raising my stars from the earlier review because customer service was significantly better when the product failed this time. I hope very much that one of these units will get us at least till October when the warranty would have run originally. It really is a phenomenal product when it works. To original review ---------- I really did love this when I got it back on October. Did a great job on the floors and was easy to clean. Until now. It no longer dispenses from the clean water bottle to the brush. We ran all the troubleshooting from the Shark support page. Bottle was in working order with no cracks. When you push on the tip, water comes out. Brush spins. Suction works. No red indicator lights. It's clearly something inside the unit. So you would think there would be some kind of support, right? Nope. Despite registering which means I have an account with shark, It won't let me log in. it says my password is wrong and will not send me a password reset. thinking maybe I only hallucinated registering I tried to create my account today. Can't do it because my Email is already registered to an account.... But when I click to ask for a password reset, no email is sent after several requests. Which starts several lengthy sessions of hold calling for support. Fun fact: your wait time is not an estimated ten minutes as per the recording, it's a half hour minimum (3 calls). And when you do get to an agent whether or not you have an account is irrelevant. Because you have to start from scratch. Name, address, phone number, email, model number, serial number.... And then you have to switch to video conferencing To repeat all the trouble shooting you aready did. I made the mistake of trying to call before work. So I had to skip the video conference and call back again later. The second time I called. We made it all the way to the video conference.... only to have the telephone call dropped. That call duration was 45 minutes. So I call back, eventually an agent comes on the line, Start over.....AGAIN. This time we actually make it to the end of the video conference. And they finally believe me that there is a problem with the spray. The agent tells me that they will replace the body and that a new one will be shipped to me at some point in the next few weeks. There is no ticket number that I can refer to if I had to call back but an email will be sent to me within an hour confirming everything. No email was ever received. All told, I spent a little over two hours on the phone between 3 calls. Despite receiving all of their marketing emails since I did register back in october, apparently I am only good for marketing emails and not emails for support. I have no idea if i'm going to recieve a replacement unit or how long I should wait before spending irrational amounts of time waiting for an agent to start over....again. This product was a great product when it worked. I absolutely loved it. I hope I get the replacement as promised but Shark support is absolutely sub par and does not have me getting my hopes up. We used to be Bissel people. But we got tired of the products completely breaking down within hours after the warranty expiring. Is this shark cleaner - for our hard floors - was absolutely superior to anything we ever had from Bissell. But if it only works for a couple of months And getting support takes hours, and even then you still aren't sure if they will make good on their warranty, you're better off going with Bissell. At least you know it will survive its own warranty.

Shuts down
I've had my vac 4 months. When I turn it on it turns itself off in less than 1 minute. The blue light says I do not have any clean water. I have filled and emptied the clean water several times. It won't stay on, so it is useless. Shark sent me a replacement….no hassle. I am thrilled that it’s working and I have a brand new one. I am disabled and pleased to be able to clean my floors in half the time that I have as before. Customer service easy to work with.

Stopped running after a month -- Great product -- POOR reliability
Pros: - Easy to use - Easy to clean (when it works) - Really gets the job done - Charge is good enough to do my entire ground floor in one go Cons: - Very small width so you have to go back and forth a lot in small rooms - Clean solution tank is small so you may have to refill in order to finish your job, especially if you plan on using the self-clean feature which requires solution - Questionable longevity - unit malfunctioned after only 30 days (see review below for more detail) Long review: When I received this vacuum, it was to replace a swiffer wet jet that I had been using on our hard floors up to that point. I needed something that would clean more thoroughly since our socks were still getting dingy even when I mopped 2x a week. That's why I got this device. When I used it, I was thrilled with how dirty the water was that it was sucking up, which means it was cleaning stuff that wasn't getting clean with other methods. It's easy to use, was fast to charge and the self-cleaning feature was great! I ONLY used the included solution that came in the box, and I was just about out of it and looking to buy more when the vacuum stopped working. I would turn it on and it would immediately turn off thinking that the clean solution tank was empty. I reseated the solution tank, made sure that there were no obstructions, but nothing worked. The most frustrating part of this malfunction was that it prevented the self-clean feature from working at all which made cleaning it between uses much more tedious and time consuming. Shark customer service made it right under the manufacturer warranty, but now I'm worried that the replacement they sent will do the same thing a month from now.

Great product I even have dogs just make sure you get warranty
This is great. It has broken in two years of use so I would make sure to get a warranty on it. I wish I would have.

Cuts mopping time in half
I have used the Shark AW 201 Hydrovac a few times and used it for a weekly whole house clean today. For the record, we have 3 dogs and they do shed, so I vacuumed with regular vacuum when I did the weekly clean today. our house is about 2700 sq. feet total. Here is my experience, pros and cons: Pros- It's very easy to set up and use for the first time. The directions are clear. The first time I used it to clean one room when the dogs came in after a rain (muddy paw prints on the floor). I didn't vacuum first but I had vacuumed earlier that day. The muddy prints came up easily. The floors looked good when I finished. I have used it to clean partial floors a few times and it's been great each time. I cleaned the whole house today and I did vacuum and sweep before using the Hydrovac. I was able to clean all the floors in the house with one charge. I didn't time it, because I do floors as I clean each room, so I didn't do all the floors at once. I only had to refill the water/solution once and empty the dirty water tank once while cleaning. When I finished cleaning, I emptied the tank again and added more water for the self cleaning cycle. I ran it 2 times through a self cleaning cycle just to be sure it was clean. I am very happy with it. I would guess it save me an hour or so in mopping the whole house. Being cordless it's so easy to grab and start using. Also there's no cord to have to move and plug in from room to room. Oh, and the floors did dry quicker than it does when I mop. Cons: There is a small gap between the floor and baseboard that the Hydrovac doesn't get. Today I used a mop and went around the rooms to clean that gap. Since I was only mopping a small area of the room, I used the kitchen sink to clean the mop between rooms. It didn't take long at all. So far that is the only negative I have. I will update in a few weeks if anything changes.

Works well and customer service is good
It does it job, I only use it to clean around now. Had an issue with it (Detector was saying that I didn't have any water/disinfectant in the tank when it was not the case) but contacted the customer service easily and they sent replacement parts that I just had to switch with my original unit
