After being frustrated trying to get the hook/loop fasteners on my greenhouse window flap to work, I decided to install snaps. This set appeared ideal, and while I won't need 400 snaps to secure the greenhouse window, there will be many other uses for these in the future. Not only does this set include 400 snap sets (each set includes 2 button tabs, a plug and a socket), but also a screwdriver, awl, crimp tool and replacement setting parts. For my installation through the greenhouse wall, I located the snap positions, pushed the button tab through from the back, pressed on the socket and had a helper inertial backstop the tab with a 4# engineering hammer. Then using a small ball-peen hammer and the replacement press pin indcluded with this set, I was easily able to flatten the pin on the button tab. The snap socket was easily attached to the greenhouse flap using the included crimp tool. Yes - I mashed a couple with the hammer setup, but the crimp tool worked perfectly - all of the sockets were installed without damage. I could NEVER have done this with a metal snap set, and these plastic snaps hold very well. I am Very happy with this purchase.

This is GREAT! It comes with great instructions, a huge variety of snaps (pieces to create snaps). And the presser is great and so easy to use. Snaps can be very tight though; I had a hard time undoing some but, I'd rather have them tight and not loose.

I wanted a set of Kam snaps for small projects I give as gifts. These are good quality and the variety of colors are nice to have. The pliers work fine but take a fair bit of hand strength. If you are doing these regularly I would recommend a tabletop press. The kit comes with a bundle of good quality ziplock storage bags to put the pieces in after opening the package. It works fine but I decided to go buy an inexpensive tackle box with all the little bins to keep these nicely organized. Overall I’m pleased with the product and would recommend it to my friends.

I know that plastic is never as good as the metal kind, but these still frustrated me. The tools in the kit seem to be a good quality, all solid metal, good plastic and rubber. The snaps themselves are almost to strong. There have been times I was sure I had set them solid, only to have them go flying, or staying stuck to their other half, pulling free from the fabric and leaving a stretched hole. These are fast to install, I'll admit, but the time I spend testing each one makes that point mote. While I understand these are a more dollar friendly variety, I didn't think I would lose a third of them just during installation. I won't be buying the snaps again, but I am glad I have the tools. They're nicer then what I could find in the craft store near me.
