Worked really well in chopping down 12+ ft pine tree that was blocking the driveway. It only took 2 bars to cut it down. Battery took around two hours to charge.

I bought this saw for my dad who is 76 and got tired of seeing him pull the rope on his Farm Boss saw. He farms and is constantly cutting trees we were skeptical about battery saws but this one is amazing. Couldn't find many reviews but I'm sure it's about to blow the competition out of the water. Cuts like a gas powered saw and the battery last forever. I highly recommend this saw.

I bought this saw for my wife, because she can't start the sthil gas saw I bought her! (got tired of her coming to have me started for her.) CAT what a pile of crap. The reviews seamed pretty good and the few videos I watched all raved how well it worked. I almost bought an extra battery for it, but figured I'd wait and see how good it was first, good thing I did! 2 hours in and it just stopped, pull the trigger and it would just click, and no it wasn't the battery! Sent it back to Amazon for a full refund and now were back to starting my wife's gas saw again...oh well she's well worth it

Saw works really well when the blade is sharp but it needs to be sharpened frequently. Definitely not for anyone planning to do lots of work in one day.

The charger makes a noticeable humming sound (think hair dryer on low speed) when charging. This noise is the enclosed fan keeping the battery safe and cool when charging. There is a led lighting column on the battery charger that provides information and current charging status while the battery is recharging in charging cradle. It takes approximately 1 hour to do a full charge – after battery is fully charge the battery charger automatic goes in trickle mode while battery is left in the charger cradle, this is to prevent overcharging or creating any damage to the battery. The chainsaw has instant on off action mode and the sound of the motor engagement is a solid buzz sound typical of a gas-powered chainsaw with lower intensity of sound but not with power as this chainsaw can do anything a professional grade power chainsaw can do without the hassle of gas, fumes, frustrating maintenance, and upkeep. My pending home DIY project will be to cut down several over-grown (Tall) palm trees that line my pool deck. These overgrown palms will be replaced with smaller trees and various plants… and my new CAT Chainsaw will be the perfect tool to get this job done in due time. Recommend Purchase/ Buy if tired of dealing with gas guzzling, maintenance intensive power tools and want to join the new technology of battery powered tools that have optimum power and are user friendly.

I had ordered this chainsaw not knowing we were getting ready to have a huge storm that knocked down a 50 foot pine tree. My CAT saw was to be delivered on a Sunday. On Saturday I cut up all the branches with a gas powered chainsaw that kept giving me trouble. Hard to start. Hard to restart and then completely died on me before I could get to the trunk part of the tree. Fortunately the next day my new Cat chainsaw arrived. I charged up the battery and was absolutely amazed at how well this worked. In the first picture you can see the tree I needed to cut up. In the second picture is the tree cut up on one charge. At the very end I had to recharge the battery but those are pretty be logs to cut through. It was so smooth to use. The chain was still cutting right through it at the end. I do a lot of landscaping on the side but only need a chainsaw a few times a year usually for much smaller jobs. My gas powered chainsaw is getting throw away. For people who aren’t professionals that need a chainsaw to run for hours, this is definitely the way to go. No messing with gas and oil mixtures. I could not be happier. Mine came with the 60v battery that is a beast. Great tool to add to my collection.
