They look like books!
Iโm happy with these magazine holders. I read through most of the reviews ahead & decided I wanted the look of books lined up with these holders more than paying credence to the complainers and not purchasing them. I didnโt care what the titles were on the holders (yes Shakespeare is misspelled) & even though itโs probably not necessary, it was really easy to cut up a template from the Amazon box these holders were shipped in just to support the bottom of the inside of the bottom of the box a bit more. See my photos. Snip off a tiny piece of each corner of the template to make it easier to slide into position at the bottom of the magazine holder. These holders are made of normal weight cardboard and the colorful pictures on all sides are glossy. I agree it would have been a small bit easier to put together with a 1-2-3 step guide, but thatโs about all it took to build them - 3 folding steps. I decided Step 1 is to pre-fold in or down about a half inch on the long side (without the indentation) but donโt close in this side yet; fold in both side tabs; fold in the long side thatโs away from you next on top of each of the side tabs; and next fold down the long side nearest you and fit the pre-folded edge or piece into the others in the opening, without letting the side tab pieces pop out. There you should have a completed magazine holder. Once you put weight in it it should be fine. You can tape the bottom if you feel itโs necessary but I think the look of these organizers is whatโs appealing. They do look better in a dark bookcase or shelf, in my opinion.

Better then the other company's
These were perfect for disguising spiral notebooks that i need to save. I ordered from another company that was all wrong. Nothing on the spine, just on the short end. This company has both ends decorated and look really nice. Yes, they are cardboard, but better than spirals. The colors are true to old book style and I fit everything i needed to into 2. These are keepers

Great Aesthetic, Could be a little Sturdier
Would like these to be sturdier, but they'll work. Love the design (books) and great for organizing all of the papers on my husbands desk in a good-looking way. Not really a good explanation of how to fold these, so I ripped one tab when trying to figure it out. Instructions would be helpful.

Very lite weight. Looks great
Just received. Looks just like pictures. Ordered 6. Flat cardboard. As I gently folded out to shape Seam came apart...super glue fixed it. No instructions how to assemble...what a pain but got it together. Will need to seal bottom with packing tape to make sturdy. Which I will do. If you need something to look good, not put heavier paper in it and not mess with it much, would be a great display piece. I will not buy again.

Beautiful and useful
I am very satisfied with this purchase. Just what I needed to store (and disguise) my collection of choir books. I have nice bookshelves and beautiful books but those thin, multi-color choir books were so very distracting! These decorative magazine holders are just what I needed to get my bookshelves looking like a beautiful library again. They are a good weight cardboard and easy to assemble. Yes, they have a spelling error and the graphics could be more sharp, but still I am pleased with this purchase. I must say these have the potential to be soooooo much better (ie. heavier construction, sharper graphics, SPELL CHECKED, matte finish, dark interior, embossed, gilded, ect.) but then the price would be more. So there you go. I will be buying more to hide distracting things in my other bookshelves around my house and studio.

Waste of money, thin, not as described, and no directions on assembly.
Waste of $20. They're not matte, they're glossy. And flimsy. I read every review looking for a clue as to how to assemble. Which flap goes first, next, next. One reviewer tried to describe the process and made no sense to me, referring to which side is "nearest" to me. Most reviewers say you need tape to reinforce them. I don't know yet because I'm waiting for a reviewer to tell me how to put them together without damaging them, because they are rather thin cardboard. Update: Presuming the little tabs go in at same time, it wasn't too hard to figure out the rest. The little one go in LAST. That's the only way the indentations make sense. But once you tuck the little ones in they don't go to sleep unless you tape them down. Use real sticky tape or one will always sneak out. Better yet buy something that doesn't need assembly. :/

Very difficult to put together
Title says it all. Very difficult to put together and a little flimsy. Pretty cute but that's all. Not really worth the price.
