Worst hair color I have ever used! NOT LILAC at all, no purple tones whatsoever. I lightened my hair to level ten. Left on this product for two hours, it turned out bluish-gray!! Seriously! This has now messed up my base, recovering from this will not be easy! And let’s talk price for the tiniest jar of hair product I have ever seen! $15 is a RIP OFF! I will NEVER buy anything from this product line again. This product SUX!

I bought the pastel iris to touch up my hair before my friend's wedding. I LOVE how it turned out! it's a beautiful blue-based purple and it seemed to make my hair softer too. the only thing I didn't love about it was the consistency of the dye; it's pretty thick compared to what I've used before (Lime Crime, Good Dye Young, Matrix, Arctic Fox, Punky Colors, Ion, Manic Panic...I've tried it all) and that made me a little nervous at first, but it has good coverage and smelled good too, so that made up for it. I was also outside in 90⁰ humid heat all day the day after I dyed it, and despite my excessive sweatiness, the dye didn't run at all! one 4oz pot was exactly enough for my hair, which is thin, shaved on the sides, and just past my collarbones in the long parts. pro tip: if you're going to use a pastel dye, MAKE SURE YOUR HAIR IS EXTREMELY LIGHT BLONDE FIRST!! my natural hair is dark brown, and I had to bleach it and tone it until it was almost white for pastel purple to show up correctly.

Be cautious of this product as it doesn't seem to stick to my hair? It faded within 2 days and turned a pink color. It was not worth it. May work for freshly bleached hair but mine was still pretty light and faded to the sun or something. I definitely washed with cold water and let the dye sit in my hair long enough.

I usually use Arctic Fox or Ion dye, but unfortunately Sally’s hasn’t had hardly anything in stock lately and amazon didn’t have the color of Arctic Fox that I wanted, so I got impatient & thought I would try this Lunar Tides. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. Read the other reviews and listen to them unlike I did. As soon as I saw this jar of dye I could tell that it was not as good quality as other dyes that I have used. I ordered the iris color & it was a darker purple than I expected (it was supposed to be pastel) however the color was also translucent rather than opaque, which I thought was a bit odd. I tried to return it, but apparently if the sell is through a third party seller than you have to pay for your own shipping. In this case the shipping was more than the product, so there was no point in returning it. I’ve learned my lesson never to buy through a third party seller again. Amazon is not trustworthy enough to buy things that I can’t return. So I did end up trying this dye. The best way I can describe it is that the texture seemed more watery then creamy like other direct dyes. So when you apply the dye it pretty much disappears in your hair. Basically the color looks dark in the jar but is very light once it’s applied, so it really doesn’t dye your hair. I’m not sure what they make it out of, but it’s very low quality.

My stylist and I paired up for this toning experiment combined with minimal low light to add some dimension to my somewhat drab naturally silver hair. The crown is untouched and lilac was woven sparingly throughout with some henna low lights added to the bottom portion. No chemicals and the result is stunning, i get compliments all the time :) Toners are nice but they don't last, Lunar Tides gives a hint of tone throughout for a month now and counting. Will definitely order more for another application when this one fades. Henna fades slowly so no need to touch up low lights anytime soon

I got the iris purple because I wanted a nice light purple color. It arrived safely but noticed the name was pastel iris rather than iris purple as listed and when I opened it it looked more like toner than dye. I have level ten hair and after applying and letting it sit for an hour it just toned it. It works well as a toner but not what I wanted.

Little bit darker in the hair color to apply to is much more than if it is bleached.

Result was after completely saturating hair and leaving on for an hour (packaging said 35 minutes). After washing with cold water it only lightly tinted a couple of places. It seemed odd right off the bat the "dye" seemed more like a purple conditioner and didn't at any point develop meaning it stayed the same color it applied as when typically a dye will darken as it develops. Would not recommend unless your hair is at a level 10 and you're looking for a very light tint.

Added no colour to my hair, like none. I followed all the instructions and got zero results.
