Was easy and saved me a lot of money

Got sick of paying Sprint (later T-Mobile) crazy monthly fees. But wasn't excited about going through the conversion myself (without a store clerk/tech there to do it). But I have to say, it wasn't bad at all! First, Mint is a T-Mobile sub-carrier, so I was reassured that I was not "going far" in my case. (this doesn't really matter) Second, setting it up is easy. You install the app on your phone and create an account. You stick the chip into your phone. You tell the app your chip number. Hit a few more Next Next Next buttons, and boom, you're done. The whole thing took about 5 minutes. I did 5 of these in one evening. 4 of them were done in 5 minutes. 1 of them took about 15-20 before the system picked that person up. Not sure why, but who cares. It works great for everyone, now. The price is fantastic. Note that it's an introductory price. It went up by about $5/month after the intro period was over. But this is still WAY cheaper. Coverage is great... it's uses T-Mobile's network, so it's as good as their network is in your area. Supposedly, as a sub-carrier, T-Mobile reserves the right to slow you down when things get congested, so their main customers can have priority. If this has ever happened, I've never noticed. I say, go for it. Bandwidth is 4 gb/month, which is fine for more users. I use less than a gig per month because i'm always in wireless places. The wife walks the dog on the trail and listens to podcasts & stuff, so she uses all of her 4 gb/month. You can buy more, but it can get pricey, like $10 per extra gig. If you don't buy it, your data use is slowed WAY down when you run out... technically it still works, but it will feel like the 56k modem days. So decide if the 4 gb is enough for you. There are 5 of us, and only 1 of us even comes close to using it all each month. The app isn't very detailed. It's cute, modern, even a little edgy in style. But it didn't NOT give you detail on your bandwidth. It will tell you your total, and dates when it will replenish, but that's about it. Probably good enough for 90% of the people out there. I would like to know more about what apps or types of data I'm burning through, but I suppose you can get a lot of that off your phone if it's at all modern. I'm loving Mint, and highly recommend it.

Mint mobile isn't worth the money. They are the worst in customer service and communication. They'll trick you into raising your plan making you think they're giving you more data for free then won't let you go back to your original plan as they change you for what Was Added For Free

I have been using Mint Mobile for over two years now, and to be honest, I have absolutely no complaints for the price. You really cannot beat this value, and I plan to keep using it indefinitely. The only minor downside is the coverage in certain areas. The data speed noticeably drops or gets very slow when you go underground, like in basements or subway stations. However, considering how much money I save every month compared to the major carriers, that is a compromise I am perfectly happy to make. Bottom line: If you want a budget-friendly plan and don't mind occasional slow speeds in dead zones, this is highly recommended.

Easy to handle very good

If you are thinking about it just do it. It’s easy to use and authentic. It was compatible with our devices and we’ve had it for a few years now. You may need extra support to get the internet running but that was only the case with 1 out of 3 phones. Overall very flexible and freeing experience

First - Mint Mobile is a MVNO (mobile virtual network operator) powered by T-Mobile's 4G LTE network. We got an unlocked LG phone for our grandson for Christmas and he was OK with limited data as long as he could use the phone with wireless, at home and hot spots, like one of hi friends (see my review of LG Stylo 4). T-Mobile had good coverage in our home area - Phoenix and grandson is happy with T-Mobile coverage in his home Denver. Mint setup and activation was painless - insert the SIM card (can't remember if we just used the adapter that came with Mint or if the phone had one - physical size thing). Power up the phone and follow the instructions which came up and that with the Mint SIM card. I don't think it took more than 1/2 hour. You will have to setup a Mint account for billing, checking your usage, etc. We went with the special 3 month plan, $15/month for 2GB/month. So far after almost a month grandson happy with it. When 3 months end we'll probably go for the 1 year renewal of same plan, same $15/month if paid for a year in advance. This assumes plans and pricing don't change. The grandson has to send us $15/month - what a change :-), getting money from him. He's a Junior in High School and can afford to take on some of his own expenses - blessed with a good one. So after several weeks of looking at various plans for him, Mint came in at about the lowest price if paid for a year in advance and so far would recommend you check it out. Ask your friends or coworkers if they use T-Mobile and if reception is good - if so, go for it. Note, I've read that T-Mobile will throttle speed on Mint if their data traffic gets too heavy, but not an issue with our grandson since he will use wifi wherever he can. No experience with customer service, not needed, so no rating there. No monies paid for this endorsement but wold be willing accept some ;-).

Great product,great company to deal with.Employees are well trained and knowledgeable. Easy set up.Would recommend this product all day long.

You have to activate it immediately (I wasn't aware when purchasing). Bought it for an upcoming trip and it wouldn't activate when I needed it. Rip off. Didn't get a replacement either. No other sim card company is this unreasonable.
