YONICO Router Bits Crown Cap Molding Large Elaborate Cap 1/2-Inch Shank 16114

They worked great for making crown molding.

I purchased the crown molding bit along with the architectural bit (Yonico 16101 10 Bit Architectural Molding Router Bit Set 1/2-Inch Shank) back in October and had the opportunity to try it out couple weeks ago. Specifically, for the crown moulding bit, the cap bit is disappointingly dull. At first I thought that maybe I was trying to take too much wood out so I lowered the height of the bit. Mind you, I was using this bit on soft wood and not hard wood. Even while trying to take less than 1/4 deep cuts, it was just too dull. Then I thought maybe I was using too much of the diameter of the bit and tried 1/2 diameter and the same thing. I literally had to push down on the wood against the bit and go at a very slow pace, and it took multiple passes at the same depth to finally get the wood groove cut to the depth I had set it at. Disappointing results with some of the other bits I used from the other sets mentioned above as well. Extremely disappointed and I wish I had tried it out sooner so I could have returned it in a timely fashion. Would have rather spent the extra cash to purchase bits that cut the way they should. These bits feel extremely dull!!!

I bought this bit to gouge out a rounded spot on the underside of bench boards for my son's Eagle project. It served its purpose. My only complaint was that it didn't leave a completely smooth surface (I used it on a router table, so it should have been doable). But since it was on the underside of the bench, it didn't really matter.

Great quality in a nice box. Clean cut. Be mindful that the cove bit is 2.75" which may exceed the diameter of the throat in your router table. Add a 3/4 "shim" on your router table and only go through the throat with the shaft of the bit.

Very precise cuts, have not used them that much to know their longevity but so far they have performed as expected

Yonico router bits are hands down best bang for your buck. You can spend several times this for the same quality.
