Problem Solving and Comprehension

Original Source
Whembey's original work (with Lockheed in the original edition) on Think Aloud Pair Problem Solving (TAPPS) has been "appropriated" by several subsequent authors in a variety of fields, most recently applied behavior analysis. This text (the 7th edition) reflects the results of successive refinements of the original problem solving methodology. It lays out the TAPPS procedures in simple and straightforward detail and provides a wealth of examples of applications. The material presented here is sufficiently detailed to allow for replication by the reader and provides a good point of reference for critical thinkers to assess the fidelity of procedures that have subseequently been derived from TAPPS.

Perfect for learning problem solving skills!
I originally found this book for graduate research, but enjoyed it so much, I purchased for my own library! Especially useful to me was the TAPPS method described in this book. This book is very accessible and engaging for almost anyone wanting to improve their problem solving skills, but for K-12 teachers, an excellent resource.

Substantive
This is a good text for developing problem solving techniques in the abstract. The book focuses on its specific method and reinforces that method through multiple examples, which can get a little repetitive. It is recommendable for students of logic, mathematics, etc; anyone looking for real world applications will have to fill in the gaps on their own.
