Jounjip Kit works excellent and great customer service
This welding kit is set up real well for plastic welding. The welder gets very hot and makes welding plastic much easier with better flow of the rods. I repaired a large black trash barrel (one with flip lid for trucks to raise up and flip over to deposit trash). My barrel ended up with about a 12 inch split of the lid from the back corner heading towards the middle. Needed to repair this crack or it was just going to get worse and these barrels aren't cheap. I used the silver tape, to seal the top side and then used the black polyplaz rods with the included wire mesh and larger triangle tip to weld and seal the underside. On the top side, I created a groove with my dremel tool along the crack and then used the boot tip with a PP black rod to fill in the groove and flattened the the plastic to create a relatively flat surface. I then used an orbital sander just to smooth out and to practice. It's ready for a quick paint (not needed but once again just to humor myself) and the trash barrel looks so much better and the lid is now rigid and feels like there never was a crack. With regards to customer service: When I got the box, I noticed it was missing the smaller triangle tip and I got a hold of customer service quickly. Jon was so helpful and said he would get a welding tip right out. He did and had the tracking number for me that day. If you are price comparing, I think you will see that this kit is much better quality and the items included deliver better bang for the buck. I added some photos to show work in progress. I will do some final touches to smooth out and blend some paint in (really not needed for this trash barrel but just to use some more tools! Pictures show the wire mesh on the rough underside but on the top you can blend in with the boot iron and fill the crack with the PP rod. Did some rough and medium sanding and it looks like a used trash barrel and is as strong as when it was new.

Great product, even better customer service!
The welder itself works well. It gets to temperature fairly quickly, then does the job or repairing plastic pieces or items. The stand for it could be a little more stable, but that's a minor thing. Including the screen mesh and tape in the kit is very helpful for repairs. I have fixed a number of items, mostly automotive plastics. I hadn't used it too much when the tip became stuck and I tried to remove it. I ended up pulling out the heating element. Apparently, there is a small screw that holds the "insides" together and that must have fallen off. I reached out to Jon and the company and asked for help. After a short and very amiable back and forth, he offered without prompting to replace the iron and ship it to me at no charge. I received the new iron today, in perfect working order. I can't stress enough that a company that does GOOD should get good reviews. I would not hesitate to buy from Jounjip, and encourage you to as well. They make a good product and back it up with GREAT customer service. Thanks to Jon!

Brass is soft / weak, but still works.
Works well. Not sure if it's an brass metal quality issue, or just the nature of brass under heat, but the brass tip bends pretty easily, ending up at a 90° angle. Bending it back leaves it cracked. So be careful on the pressure when using.

Excellent tool
Excellent kit, been using it for over 2 years now and it gets the job done everytime and this was my first time doing plastic weld. The tip heats up in about 4 minutes and is ready to use but can get really hot and i have to be careful not to melt other plastic. The different heads are practical and allows or getting into corners

Where has this been all my life
This thing is amazing. I tried to make my own out of a soldering iron, but that was a bust. The tips that come with this heat up perfectly. The shape of them make it easy to smooth the work out. There is no temperature control, but you really don't need it. I use spent staples to act as rebar across the cracks. It takes a little while to get the feel of the tool to get a good looking repair, but it really is worth it. How many plastic objects I threw out, because no glue, or epoxy would hold. This came with a lifetime of plastic welding rods (with normal use). The customer service is fantastic. I called because there wasn't an instruction book . An actual person answered the phone, and he spoke English. Within a half hour, I had an attachment on an email with the entire instruction booklet. Put this in your cart now. WARNING. AND THIS IS IN THE BOOKLET. DON'T TOUCH ANY METAL PART BEYOND THE PLASTIC HANDLE WHEN PLUGGED IN. IT GETS VERY HOT !

Effective Polypropylene (PP) Welding Tool (Deluxe Kit)
I bought this to repair a polypropylene belly pan from a Miata, figuring it'd be great practice as the part won't be visible and could be easily replaced if ruined. Repairs included a long split, two small holes and filling in two enlarged bolt holes in mounting tabs so I could re-drill them smaller. Overall I'm very pleased with the kit. The repaired areas feel as strong as the undamaged areas, though they will NOT win any beauty contests. Repairs will probably never be pretty, though as my technique improved they became less ugly. The aluminum tape came in handy when I accidentally melted away a curved portion. I applied the tape to one side of the repair, approximating the original curve, then welded in PP rod to replace it. One nice feature of PP is it's easy to sand, though obviously take care not to sand through your repair. The tool heated up fine - similar to a soldering iron - and felt sturdy; no danger of bending or breaking the tip from pressing moderately at the plastic. That said, if you have to press hard, it probably means the plastic hasn't melted sufficiently. Read the included instructions: they're a great starting point. Beyond that, they key is practicing - ideally on scrap pieces - to refine your technique. Tips: * If possible, clamp down pieces so the repair doesn't warp or separate before plastic hardens. * When embedding wire mesh into plastic, have a metal "poking" tool handy to hold mesh in the plastic until it sets. Otherwise it curls up out of the plastic. Embed the mesh small portions at a time, switching to opposite sides of the repair until it's embedded completely.

Great kit to have. Works great.
Tool works fantastic. Surprisingly plastic doesn't stick to heating end. Easy to use when folowing instructions. Use light pressure, let it slowly melt in. For those that managed to break or bend the tool. Let the tool do the work. Let it warm up, it doesn't get to proper operating temperature instantly once plugged in. and expect it to be ready to use, give it time.
