Parrot Approved Break-In Material: The Ultimate "Fruit Loops"
My parrot is completely obsessed with these Versele-Laga NutriBird P15 granules. In fact, he loves them so much that he will actively try to break into his biscuit tin when he has run out. These seem to last months, so make them good value for money. We have aptly nicknamed them "Fruit Loops" in this house, although to be entirely fair, they are in no way, shape, or form any kind of loop. They are just solid, colourful extruded granules, but they do the trick brilliantly. The listing mentions the strong tropical scent, and while some people find it a bit much, I actually really like the smell when opening the tin. More importantly, it gets the bird off a messy, fatty seed diet and onto something proper and nutritious. It also creates a fraction of the mess at the bottom of the cage compared to traditional seed mixes. If you have a medium or large parrot, this stuff is fantastic. Just make sure you clamp the lid down securely on the biscuit tin, or your bird will stage a heist.

The best diet to meet nutritional needs
Having an oven-ready parrot (plucker), I wanted to get provide the best diet possible and you just can't do that without looking at science diets such as this! I moved Elvis straight from a seed diet to this and he's gone from strength to strength, from a weedy little rescue bird to an 18 year old bruiser. I know he's getting everything he needs from this, the food is sealed, always clean and no "extra bits" you can find in seed (and no dust!). The different colour and shapes are appealing to him and I had no trouble moving him onto it, I highly recommend it!
