one of my favorite stories
I love this book. It's one of my favorite stories. Tells the story of a young hyena and how she deals with some not-so-nice other animals. I think this is a great book for a couple of reasons: 1. it tells a great story with a good lesson and 2. it's about an animal that is often disliked by humans for no reason. People tend to dislike hyenas, but they are no different than any other predator. This story lets kids get to know that hyenas have feelings too. I love that this author, Janell Cannon, often has stories about animals that you usually don't see in stories - like Stellaluna (about a bat) and Verdi (about a snake) . Pinduli is a great book.

Great book!
I was looking for a series of books for my daughter, who is 11 and in special ed. I was looking for books which would highlight animals - which she adores - and teach her something at the same time. As we had read "Stellaluna", by the same author, we looked forward to recieving this book with great anticipation, and were not disappointed. The author cleverly weaves the sympathetic story of Pinduli, a young hyena who is picked on, with a moral lesson as well. Also, we learned of different habitats and creatures. Now Pinduli is one her favorite books! We have ordered more books by this author, including "Little Yau", and have never been disappointed. The combination of the beautiful art and writing makes it easy for the reader to connect with the charaters in this book.

Beautiful book with great message
This is a beautifully written book with wonderful illustrations. The book has a nice message about treating people the way you want to be treated, but it's done in a very subtle way. I read it to my first graders and they loved it, but I think older kids would get a lot out of it as well.

Super cute book
Super cute book for kids. We had other books from this same author and had to get more- the kids love the illustrations and the stories are all neat. Plus every book has an epilogue with educational information about the animals in the books for older kids

Gift for a 5-year-old
I had read Stellaluna to my second grade students for years. I passed the book on to my nephew and he loved it. Next I got him Verdi and he was enthralled. This is the third book by Janell Cannon and it is just as great as the others. I like how she takes an animal that is not as popular as a cute puppy or sweet fawn and makes it into a well loved character. Nice lessons about respecting others also.

La tenerezza!
Purtroppo in inglese, ma i disegni sono cosi' belli ed esplicativi che non serve la parola scritta! Un'altra ottima opera di questa autrice!
