GTS is now the best Gran Turismo of all time!
*Updated Review as of 12/22/17 Not hyperbole at all, and no, I"m not even a super fan of the series. I generally skip every other GT because I feel it's more of the same. GT1, GT3, GT5 and now GTS are in my collection. I can honestly say, especially after the update, this is already the best GT game and will continue to get better. The one line reviews about it's cons are really doing a disservice to the great work PD has done. Cons - Needs to save your overall progress in the game offline, this can be annoying to people with shoddy, internet it's to deter cheaters in Sport Mode - Not quite there with commercial everyday cars we love yet, DLC keeps adding new ones, but it'll be a while before we hit 300-400 cars - PSVR mode is very limited - That's it!! Pros - Best handling racing game on consoles (do yourself a favor a get a wheel, it's amazing!) - Best online racing on consoles (the system rewards driving clean and fair, it's not about winning) - One of the most impressive graphical showpieces for a 4K display - December update added what we all missed from GT, Sunday Cups! And they will keep updating with more races - Scapes and Livery editor are welcome editions that add a lot of customization and personality to your cars - So far, all the DLC (Modes/Cars/Tracks) are free! Really, PD announced this at launch, the game is a service, and will constantly be updated over time. I get that some folks might have been disappointing at launch, but only a month later, and they've already added a substantial single player experience, not to mention the initial campaign was already a good 15-20 hours of SP modes that actually taught you how to drive and gifted you with cars the more gold medals you got. I've had the game since launch and I've only played a tiny bit of MP because I want to collect Golds on everything. The game has been on sale throughout the Holiday period and is absolutely a steal at $35 and $40! The racing feels so good, and it's the first experience I've had online where everyone is purposely not trying to bump into you and race cleanly. In fact, in higher levels, racing online feels like racing against good AI, because other players don't want there precious driving rating affected, they don't ram you, or slow down on purpose in front of you, none of that usual online mess. But hey, even if you are too afraid of Sport mode, the regular content is here for you to dig into, and it's never looked, felt, and SOUNDED better. Finally a GT game with good sounds lol. Enough ranting, just go and play it for yourself.

GT Sport is definitely the best and the closest simulator I've ever played in my ...
First of all I must say, GT Sport is definitely the best and the closest simulator I've ever played in my life. I played any game you can think of, and this game brings another level and physics that brings you very close to reality. However, I bought a VR as part of this release... And I have to say, this is totally not for VR. There are not enough content/modes you can play with the VR. Besides... The graphics of the game drops by a lot when you put the VR on... So totally.. this game is not for VR. Another good point I found out is this.. a lot of people Amazon and in many other websites saying that the game is not what they thought it will be like. I bought specially for this game the G29 with a nice stand... I tried playing the game with the regular remote... And I found out that it is not even close to the same experience I had with the wheel. So practically I will say... If you don't have the money for a wheel and a stand.. don't even buy this game, it's not for you. But if you do have the right set-up, you're going to enjoy in another level. A 4K TV will add the HDR mode which will turn the image into some real picture that keeps you always in shock. Overall, great game for the right set-up. Terrible game for no set-up. Simple as this.

The Art of Racing
Preface: I have played every flagship title of Gran Turismo extensively except for GT1. I've been with the series since I was a young child and have grown to love this game franchise. Gran Turismo Sport is the start of a new generation of Gran Turismo. It focuses heavily on the racing aspect of the sport and less so about Journey like previous installments. With all the sections in this being an integral part of the game, it's best to go over each area of the game. -Graphics: It's pretty easy to say that Gran Turismo Sport is simply a beautiful game to look at. Even when you first start the game, you are thrown into the sheer beauty of this game from the Scapes pictures to the small presentations, everything just seems to have this sort of polish that has become a staple of Gran Turismo. Things aren't any different on track either. The light of the sun shining down on the cars is a sight to behold as each crafted car rounds a bend. The game manages a somewhat stable 60 FPS though it can drop when multiple cars are in an area and dust is kicked up. The track environment is probably the most disappointing aspect of the graphics as the backgrounds look blurry and just lacking the sharpness the rest of the gang has. Thankfully, your attention won't be or shouldn't be, back there that often so you won't realize it too often. -Sounds: Let's get this elephant out of the room now; no, the sounds are not on par with the other two games are part of the Big 3 (Forza Motorsports 7 and Project CARS 2) this year. However, credit is given where credit is due and boy do they deserve credit for the sounds in this game. It's quite the improvement over past installments. With additions like a revamped transmission whine and exhaust crackling and popping from the car. While certain changes in elevation will cause the amazing chassis rattling noise. And the detail for each camera view having unique sounds with the cockpit view being the most notable. Of course, they can improve by adding depth to the sound and making the engines sound more alive but this is a great start. -Cars: Gran Turismo Sport has the smallest selection of cars to date out of all flagship titles. Most of the cars are race cars due to focus on the FIA championships. To give you an idea, for those that don't know, the FIA is the overarching governing body for motorsports all over the world. They are a major partner for Polyphony Digital and Sony to have for thus game and with the FIA championships being huge focus right now, that is the reason for the heavily race focused roster. That doesn't mean that the cars aren't out of this world. They took a quality over quantity mindset to this and cars prove this with the immaculate detail they possess. Just wish the selection was bigger, which is planned to happen during the life-saving of the game. -Tracks: The track selection is another aspect that took a bit. These are not different than the cars, however, in the sense that it isn't completely terrible. The tracks are very well made and nearly a quarter of them are original tracks. The environments, as previously mentioned, aren't great but some places are better than others. One track is next to a coast and really helps the track atmosphere pop. Most of tracks are really a blast to drive and race on with some very technical sections that require more focus than others. -Physics: The most important part in a realistic racing game, the physics in Gran Turismo Sport are improved and some of the best around. Not completely for it's accuracy, though it gets that done very and can be quite unforgiving sometimes, but for its sheer accessibility. This is truly when you can see the "easy to get into, difficult to master" saying takes shape for this game. The two gripes I have is that "snap oversteer" is very noticeable on the rear wheel drive cars. Snap oversteer is suddenly oversteer when applying less than full throttle and the car fishtails. And that all the front wheel drive cars feel pretty similar. -Career: The most controversial aspect of Gran Turismo Sport, the career mode is not as logged as it once was. It is separated into three sections now. Driving School is the normal license tests that have become almost synonymous with Gran Turismo. Mission Challenges is where the bulk of the single-player experience lies, beyond Arcade Node's custom races. This is where you will have scenarios or simply just challenges like knocking over cones, doing a sprint race where your tires and fuel are a factor or even a full on endurance race with 30 cars on track. It really is fun and puts you in very realistic situations. The last section is Circuit Experience where you can. GT through every track sector by sector within a time limit to really get an understanding of the track before doing a full lap. -Online: The online in Gran Turismo Sport is great. The Sport, where all the major races happen (e.g the FIA championships, other online championships, and daily races). This mode is setup very nicely. Daily Races is the main thing that will happen there for the time being and thy are setup nicely. There is a sort of qualifying when the race entry isn't available. Once the race entry opens, you enter the race and you are placed in the same solo qualifying session until the race starts. The race are pretty close and once you get out of the early rankings, the races are very clean and respectful. The normal Online Mode, however, isn't that good. It has unreliable servers like previous installments. People can still make custom lobbies and setup them exactly how they want to with the multitude of options available. -Features: Gran Turismo Sport isn't lacking in features with Scapes, their photo mode on steroids and a fully fledged livery editor. Scapes is really something to behold. There are over 1000 areas across about 50+ venues where you can place your garage of cars or just one car. Scapes is special because they are just photos take with experimental cameras made by Sony. However, these cameras are special because they hold the data for the lighting of an area. Creating photos is easy and making look lifelike is may possible through the large amount of options and settings. The other major feature is the Livery Editor which is something that has been requested since Gran Turismo 5. This Polyphony Digital's first livery editor but you wouldn't know that with how detailed it is. Liverys that could pass for an actual race team can easily be made in Gran Turismo Sport's advanced Livery Editor. One thing that is sorely missing from Sport is dynamic time of day and weather. -Verdict: Gran Turismo Sport is the best way to start a new generation of a franchise. It improves on every fundamental aspect of racing games and is trying to push something that is missing from console racing games. Competitive racing. Is Sport for everyone? Of course not. It only for those that are fans of racing or want to get introduced to competitive racing. Most of the previous reviews I have seen point to the fact it doesn't have a proper Campaign. The game was announced in 2015 with an information explosion happening in May of 2016. Since then, there has been sporadic information drops on the game. That's about two years of time to research the game. There was also a Closed Beta which allowed for more information and finally, there was a Demo just last week that was open for four days. The Demo had almost everything available to play. Buying a game is a major investment and every game purchased should be researched, no matter how the franchise has existed because you never know when the game could change. Or not be exactly what you expected.

NOW HEAR ME OUT.
l will list the pros and cons for the game, but if you want a short read: ALL BAD IS MADE UP BY THE GOOD. Pros and cons (starting with cons) CONS: A LOT LESS CARS. gran turismo 6 had i think around 1200 cars.(correct me if im wrong) this however has a LOT less cars. NO MORE TUNING SHOP. honestly this isnt too much of a con, considering you CAN upgrade your cars using the level up in car settings, but it doesnt cost money, it costs mileage points. A LOT LESS TRACKS.there are not very many tracks. the number is so small it makes me sad. no more Daytona, De La Sarthe, Spa, not even the special stage where the track is straight for like 9 miles. honestly very dissapointed. LONG LOADING TIMES. loading times are not that bad but it still is a little bit annoying. LACK OF CAR DIVERSITY. all cars are either race cars or sporty street cars. with only a small number of crappy hatchbacks or whatever. AND there is only ONE car that is older than 2009. ONLINE. the game is only online. and it sucks. the driving school, mission challenges and some other thing that I forgot the name of is not online however. neither the arcade mode. NO B-SPEC. I am very lazy. i like to just set a driver on a race and then go do something else while the dude is racing. well, I can't do that anymore. PROS: MILEAGE POINTS. some people might not like them, but I, however, DO. you get them from driving. the longer you drive for, the more you get. its kind of a new currency. you can use them to buy new paint colors, like for example chrome. and you can also get different decals, driving suits and helmets, special cars you can't get from the dealership, driver poses, and rims. it is actually VERY cool when you view the game as NOT gran turismo 6. GRAPHICS. now i thought the graphics where going to not be as good because i only have a standard PS4. but I was VERY wrong. the graphics are awesome. not amazing, but MUCH better than gran turismo 6. CAR AND TRACK QUALITY. following on the whole graphics thing, there is an amazing amount of detail to each car and track. DRIVING SCHOOL AND MISSION RACES. these are thing you can do NOT online. they are actually pretty fun. ARCADE MODE. arcade mode is awesome in this game. before, it was just racing for fun. now, you can earn money, daily miles, mileage points, and experience points from arcade mode, AND you can change the penalties, number of laps, how many minutes/hours you want to race for, number of cars, what position you start in, difficulty, mechanical damage, tire wear, and fuel consumption. its awesome. GAME FEEL. I think this game feels awesome. it would probably be better if i had a wheel but whatever. RACING FLAGS. if you, or somebody else crashes, you will see a yellow flag go up. if everything is fine, its green. AND the AI racers will slow down near a crash. just a cool little feature. NEW TIRE TYPE. in the past, the best tires you can get where racing:soft tires. now there is racing:super soft tires. its pretty sweet. LIVERY. it is awesome! SUMMARY: I could go on and on about this, but I don't want to spoil too much. the whole thing with the upgrades is you CAN upgrade the car. you have to go into car settings, and you will see either one or two things that say level up. one is for upgrading power. and the other is for weight reduction. you can't upgrade your cars with money however, it takes mileage points. you dont need to buy better tires for your cars either, its just there and you can switch to it. READ THIS: I had a problem with the game screen not completely filling the tv screen. the solution is you have to exit the game, go into playstation settings, screen and audio, and adjust the thing to fit your screen. in the game you can earn XP, mileage points, and I think even money from completing achievements. playing with people online is ok. its not the greatest. when online, you can only use the car you are currently using. you cant change while in the server (at least i dont think so). overall, you should buy this game. it IS actually fun. ITS NOT AS BAD AS PEOPLE SAY IT IS IF YOU KEEP IN MIND THATS IT IS NOT GRAN TURISMO 6, AND THAT IS IS STILL A VERY NEW GAME AND COULD GET BETTER WITH UPDATES AND STUFF. OH AND IT DIDN'T NEED TO TAKE SO F###ING LONG TO GET HERE. IT LITERALLY TOOK A WEEK AND A HALF AND I DIDN'T EVEN GET THE PRE ORDER BONUS I DESERVE. I PRE ORDERED THE DAMN GAME WHERES MY BONUS?!?!?!?!??!?!?

These poor reviews are because of being uninformed
Ok first of all 90% of these bad reviews are from in educated people that clearly don’t know how to research before they buy anything. Yes this game is designed for online championships. But guess what that was not a hidden fact of the game, if you researched this game even a little bit you would have known that from the beginning. Yes it’s not like the other ones yes it doesn’t have alot of cars. But that’s how it was designed, and these people giving a bad review for a game they didn’t research is their own fault. The game for what it was designed to be is fantastic, you cannot judge a game for what it wasn’t designed to be. That’s like buying a beetle and getting mad because it couldn’t outrun a Ferrari 599 evo. This is a wonderful game for what it was designed to be official partnership with the FIA and you could find yourself in Italy at the end of 2018 claiming a trophy if you work hard. It’s the closest thing to iracing anyone in console will get to. If you like the single player experience and don’t care for online yes this isn’t for you. But if you want to compete and like class racing this is amazing. People say forza 7 is better but you cannot compare the two they are completely different games serving different purposes. With all that said please know what you’re getting. Those reviews are from people throwing tantrums rather than judging a game for what it was meant to be from the get go.

which certainly is something that people do not like, the career mode requires much more techniques and ...
UPDATE: so it seems like Sony has noticed the weakness of this game. and ready to realease the update 1.06(november) and 1.07(December) that would contribute a lot to the game experience. the Career Mode(all kinds of FR/FF/4WD challenge and so on) will be Back!!! and 80( ferrari f40, enzo, and more) more cars will be added very soon. for those who are confuse and struggle. my review is going to help you a little bit perhaps. I am a huge GT5 fan and I have spent a lot of time on GT5. I can understand why people give it low stars. because there aren't as many cars in GT sport as in GT5/6. which certainly is something that people do not like, the career mode requires much more techniques and it typically trains you to be a professional driver( which explains why this game claim itself to a an ultimate simulator this time). But! the moment I play the GT sport I sense the improvements right away. every car in GT sport has unique feature and I can see that game designer put countless efforts in inspecting the selected cars in real world. each car is totally different from others. even the LSD, weight distribution, dynamic weight distribution can be felt through your PS4 controller(not racing wheel, controller). I do have a racing wheel and will certainly try it later. the driving experience is way more realistic than GT5 and more fun! ( do not worry, you can still use controller, just need more refined skills :) ). it is not a game to collect cars. it is a game to make you race better. the graphic is certainly better. but the gist of this game is the driving experience. it feels like your hand is touching the race track(u can feel the roughness of road surface for sure, the N-ring circuit is typical). for your interest, this game can adjust height, weight, brake and front/rear downforce balance. LSD, transmission ratio. this is the game for those who want to be closer to professional in real world.

Disappointed...
Disappointed Quick back ground check… I have been playing GT since 1998 and have a copy of each and every installment. I bought them sight unseen and GTS was no different. Some versions were better and some not AS good. I loved starting out each game with virtually no cash allowing me to purchase a next to nothing vehicle (e.g. CRX) in which to start the crusade. We know the drill… you race, race and race more to earn enough cash to either upgrade your first car or hopefully enough to get to that next level up vehicle. But you knew you had to put the time in to get to where you wanted to go. You learned to love your entry cars because they were tweaked and you knew how they handled. As you gained experience you got to larger races which had larger paydays… this allows you to purchase more expensive cars. You respected others for putting in THAT time to get THAT car and have it set up properly. There were used old cars to sift through and purchase. Motors to rebuild, motors to increase power to, oil changes and car washes. All gone. I think this is a control mechanism from the designers so that you can better group vehicles for racing perhaps? I guess the prior version of lining cars up using their “PP” was terrible? Use power to weight ratio then? The point I am trying to make is that something changed with the creation of this game. Clearly, this is at the direction from the top when they sat down to design this game. Gone is the day of spending time in the game to build your collection and making your cars competitive with your friends or online. Its like they made this game for those that want “instant gratification”. In the first 3-4 hours of playing GTS, I had 12 cars already worth over $2m. Its like they are afraid people will not purchase this game because you have to WORK at it. But through that process, you build experience, gain cash and increase your car list. Now, lets give you everything and get you racing NOW! It is like they made this game to cater to the millennials. They want to play it… they want to play it now before they “squirrel” and move on. But the downside to this approach is that PD is now alienating their core base that want a “simulation”. Their focus is on getting in a car and racing… not the journey it took for you to get THAT car to the track for THAT race. I purchased the Limited Version that gives me the “starter pack” of 8 vehicles. I would get $1m in game credit. The code I received and redeemed gave me 3 cars and $500k. So that was a lie. The in game physics appear to be the upgrade we were all looking and waiting for so that is a plus. All vehicles have full interiors now, which is great. They are very well done. As an American, it is fun learning to drive a RHD vehicle as opposed to the LHD we have in our country. I like that you have to gain experience with everything you do in the game. Once you gain enough experience, you go up to the next level. Depending on your level, you get access to different things in the game or access to the more technical tracks. I like this because again, you have to build your driver up in order to play with the big boys on the big tracks. Along the way, you learn how to “drive” so you gain experience, go up in levels and learn the tracks. Really a win-win situation for player development. The number of cars at the release date is offensively low. I think I heard something around 162ish cars? I would argue that 90-100 are “race cars”. The remainder are civilian vehicles that are for purchase. So clearly PD is focused on getting people online and racing NOW. Their focus was to get race cars of all classes into everyone’s hands so they can get online and race NOW. See the instant gratification summary above. No hard work, just advance to third base now and play the game please. There are tests to complete and once you complete those, you are given “gift cars”. Instead of a run of the mill or general vehicles, you get average cars up to some highend cars worth a bit of money. With each passed test, you gain mileage, experience points and $5k-15k in cash. So you can build cash QUICKLY. Again, don’t work for it and lose interest, have it ALL NOW and keep playing please. I think I purchase the $253k Porsche GT3 in about an hour or two. This game is completely online now. Long gone are days of cup racing to earn money. Long gone are the days of allowing you to run your car offline to learn how it handles, learn the tracks and then take your chances online. Anything you do offline isn’t saved until you can connect to the server. In the few days I have owned the game, I have seen the “server down due to maintenance” screen twice. If the server is offline for maintenance, this game is dead in the water. You can do nothing with it. Any races you race or win, money earned etc is pointless and will go unsaved. This is due to the lack of connecting to their servers to save your progress. So in the end, the car physics and in game graphics are great and what you would expect for the PS4 game. Unfortunately, that is where the enjoyment ends for me. Sadly, the removal of being able to add parts/upgrades to a car to make it better or faster is gone. You purchase the car and the power level is IT, no more! You can adjust your suspension (full race customization of prior versions), you can use the factory transmission ratios or select the customizable gears and set them. You can mess with the brake bias, the differential settings and downforce if applicable. You get EVERY category of tire available in the game once you purchase the vehicle. No need to save up and buy tires to make your ride better. Weight reduction for vehicles is also gone. (have it ALL NOW, don’t work for it) I gave this game 2 stars out of 5 because of the game physics and the graphics are great. Deductions are for lack of adding parts to your vehicle, lack of content/cars, being 100% dependent on their servers to play the game or have it down due to ‘server maintenance’ and the have it all right now mentality for the millennials. I wanted a Race Simulation where you can build a profile, gain experience, earn some money and collect cars to run against friends or online racers. You appreciate your rides more. I pre-ordered this game sight unseen. I wish I had waited and I WILL wait if there is ever another GT game in this series. If you are a fan of this franchise, do NOT purchase the game now. Wait 6-12 months for PD to get their act together and complete their half baked project. They had years to work on this game and it is “disappointing” at best. Wish List for Next Version: Start with $25k forcing you to buy a used vehicle and maybe some upgrades. Have everyone start the game as a young driver who has to gain experience, build up their car, get to larger races to earn more money and advance. THAT was the “simulation”. Desktop of the game includes your garage, new car dealership row, classifieds (used vehicles), Tuner’s garage, drag strip for earning cash, enter races/cups for cash/experience. Used cars that you buy CAN suck requiring your to overhaul everything in the car (lemons) to make it perform. Tune/add parts to vehicles, oil changes, car washes, dyno runs, compression testing. Leads to adding parts to build power, rebuild cylinder head(s), rebuild engine block or complete motor. Increasing the power accelerates the need to maintain/rebuild. Keep the wheel purchase list, make you buy new tires, paint calipers, body colors etc. Add ignition upgrades, fuel system upgrades. Find or determine a good cycle (hours in the game) for a player to run through in order to learn the game, gain experience and get to larger cars/tracks/races/cash. Be inclusive so that you attract people of all interests. Bring back the local cup racing, regional races, national races, international races. Set up a proper drag racing strip where you can get paired with another online racer and run against one another for $1,000 prizes. Have the expected number of vehicles available for people to look at or purchase. We don’t need 20 versions of a Miata but having multiples of RHD and LHD cars from Japan, USA, Europe…

Somewhat disappointing - good physics engines and appearance.
So, first the good... The cars look beautiful, they handle very well and while limited in number, the available cars are quite good - with distinct handling, improved engine sounds etc.. I enjoy the experience of driving the cars and as a simulation of driving, the game is excellent. The photo locations are beautiful and varied, though many controls have gone from intuitive to maddening. Photos are excellent and realistic. Replays are excellent and sound is much improved. The Sport mode can be fun. I find that as I've started racing that the racing itself can be exhilarating and fun - better than I expected. Just don't expect to win a lot of races unless you're quite skilled. The bad... Except for the very limited arcade mode, the game is online only. I've spent a LOT of time where the server is "down for maintenance" (this seems to be improving) or waiting for the tutorials to load, only to have them stop midstream. My high speed internet works just fine with Amazon Prime and Netflix viewing. Not sure if it's my equipment, but even when the server is working, the delays can be frustrating. And it's somewhat ridiculous that you can't use the photo mode, buy cars, do virtually any racing or even save when off line. Yet it still takes 60 GB of space. The career mode is basically non-existent and the single player mode is more or less an afterthought - strange given the cost and development time for the game. It's kind of nice to get so many free cars, but there's little feeling of accomplishment, and upgrades are limited and dumbed down. It took me a long time to figure out that even though cars are selected for arcade races, you can click on the garage icon on the left and use any of your cars - maybe this is obvious to most. The menus are poorly laid out, confusing, and since my television is only an enhanced definition instead of a full HD, I can't benefit from much of the improved graphics. More troubling is that the typeface is so small and fuzzy it's almost impossible to see the writing from my normal seating position. The number of tracks is very limited as are the number of cars. One can only hope that other tracks like Circuit de la Sarthe and Laguna Seca will be forthcoming. While I appreciate that all the cars are complete with detailed cockpits, I miss the variety. It was fun to own both classic cars I've loved in the past, cars I've owned and those I might actually be able to afford in the future. With all the work done to develop a variety of excellent tracks in GT 1-6, it's incredibly disappointing to lose so many of my past favorites. 5 stars for the physics and car modeling. 2 stars otherwise. The racing itself is pretty good - the game just feels incomplete. I've always felt that the Gran Turismo franchise reflects a true passion for cars and driving. Much of the fun of the earlier games has been lost in the desire to create an online franchise that I'm not sure anyone was really clamoring for. Maybe there will be a real Gran Turismo 7 that is more faithful to the original vision - if not, I may consider buying an Xbox and Forza 6.

The code for the limited edition DLC doesn’t work , waste of money . It says that it is not available for the region . The region on the PS4 is UK and the case on the game indicates region ALL so it should work . The expiry on the voucher says 10/17/2020 .
