MikroTik Security Guide: Hardening RouterOS and RouterBOARD Networks

I often come across Tyler's website when searching for Mikrotik-related things and figured I should buy his book to get a bit more in-depth learning and to support him also.I thought of myself a relative beginner but I already knew most things in this guide so I did not get a lot out of it. So maybe I'm just not as much a beginner as I thought.4 starts because, for me, Tyler's writing style works very well and he is easy to follow. -1 star because I expecting a little more on firewalls since it's a part of hardening in today's world.If you have been working with home routers and have typically always let the router do whatever it does and you just bought your first mikrotik, this would be a great start if you want to lock it down.

A nice basic guide to securing mikrotik routers. Could have offered a bit more depth to firewall configuration, but overall it was quite good and worth the eight bucks.

Gives you some tips and Keeps it readable. I'd like more on monitoring and alerts, and centralized authentication across mikrotik administration.

There are a lot of tips and ideas that the author brings to the table. I liked that he references the actual legal requirements that it takes to be compliant with things like HIPPA. Hope he continues writing more!

This book describe a simple configuration MikroTik.I dont find in this book any advanced features which are in MikroTik.

Helpful guide for my library

Really good. I used this to secure a MikroTik Routerboard Hex. I feel confident that the router is secure and the book is very easy to follow. Thoroughly recommended. I wish Tyler would do a best practices guide for Unifi/Ubiquity equipment too.

I'm sure the content of the kindle version is useful, but not if you actually have a kindle. The book uses a different format which is not supported on e-paper kindles.

The book brings some basic security things, which are nice to read but also not very in depth. For about 9 € it's okay to look through the book, but if you want to learn something in detail, it's not explained. E.g. I was hoping to get more knowledge about VLAN but it's only 5 pages (including illustrations). Don't expect to much.

Trata los concepto básicos de este sistema operativo pero es bueno para empezar en este mundo. Recomendable aunque este en ingles.
