CeraVe Healing Lip Repair Balm with SPF 30, 0.15 Ounce

This is my go-to for sun protection for my lips. It is broad spectrum, unlike many other SPF-rated lip balms that I've used such as ChapStick Green Apple Lip Moisturizer Green Apple, 0.15 oz and Blistex Medicated Lip Balm, SPF 15.15 oz. SPF ratings can be a little misleading because they only refer to how much the product prevents sunburn by blocking UVB radiation. SPF by itself tells you nothing about how much it protects you from UVA rays which result in wrinkles and photoaging. Broad spectrum means it defends against both UVB and UVA.The first thing I love about Cerave SPF lip balm is how smooth it makes my lips feel and how easily it glides on. While I like BURT'S BEES ALL WEATHER SPF 15 LIP BALM because it uses natural mineral sunscreens (not chemical sunscreens such as in Cerave lip balm and others), it's water resistant, but it is only SPF 15 and is thick and not nearly as easy or pleasant to apply. Plus, the mineral sunblock ingredients can appear chalky and white on my lips, since they are the same minerals used to make white paint.The biggest plus, however, is that it's flavorless. I have tried other broad spectrum SPF lip protectants such as Hawaiian Tropic Tropical Sunscreen Lip Balm, SPF 45+ 0.14 oz and Banana Boat Sunscreen Aloe Vera with Vitamin E Broad Spectrum Sun Care Sunscreen Lip Balm - SPF 45, 0.15 Ounce and THEY TASTE AWFUL! If you lick your lips with these on, you get a horrible bitter taste on your tongue that makes you wonder why you would use that stuff near your mouth. Cerave healing lip balm with SPF is a huge upgrade from those other products.This one may cost a little more than the others I've mentioned, but it's by far the best. I'm a bit of a lip balm addict and never go without, and have tried probably 50+ different kinds throughout my life. This one wins, hands down.

This lip balm was very interesting to me since I started using the CeraVe lotion. I love how it has SPF for the lips. Many people would forget to apply SPF on their lips because it does not seem like something that can really be affected by the sun, but since there are balms for the lips for that formula, why not? It has a very soft texture and makes your lips feel great.

This tastes like sunscreen a lot; you cannot ignore it. It is very moisturizing and smooth, also water-resistant. The stevia is nice I think, mild sweetness, but unfortunately does not help the chemical sunscreen taste at all. I really can't stand to wear it, but it will be ok for at the pool or beach when I have to have lip spf. For everyday, I can't tolerate it.

Protects my lips and heals them when they do get chapped from weather or dehydration. I just have a difficult time with the flavor. I still keep using it though because it works so well. This brand is one of my favorites for sure in all of their skincare.

nice, light, not sticky or weirdly waxy or goopy. i have been looking for something like this, as my lips dry really, really easily. I got tired of feeling like i look good but my lips are just old lady crinkly icky, so i recently purchased a very expensive hyaluronic acid based lip lotion that is, well, totally fabulous, but it is uber expensive and you are supposed to put it on 3 times a day. So i looked around for an alternative and i found this cerave product. i am using the cerave as well as almay lip essential treatment to make the expensive stuff last longer and potentially not have to buy it again. I do keep on top of applications. these items are working and i am happy. I will probably buy this again. I am kind of a product junky, i look at ingredients on everything and will probably test other things out, but i can say i like this and its a good product.

This lip balm has an awful bitter taste. I bought it because I was trying to move away from the lip balm that Cerave sells that is like a cream tube and you have to use your fingers to have it applied. So I decided to try this one which also includes SPF 30. But oh my, the moment you put the product in an awful bitter taste comes over your whole mouth, it's so strong that it may even make you gag....I waited a couple of days after that first application and decided to give it a second chance. So I applied it again and the same disgusting bitter taste came back. This time I had to wipe it out, too strong of a bad flavor to endure it for a second time.I don't know if you can get a refund on something like this, but at least I wont be buying it again!!!

This product has no flavor and no beeswax which makes it perfect for someone with skin allergies to other ingredients! I am allergic to Bee gum and fragrances. Natural or organic do not mean a thing when allergies affect you. This item does the job.

I am very happy with this product. It's the first thing that has helped my callused heals. I go barefoot mostly so my heals take a beating. I put this product on my heals when I go to bed every night and have had great results.
