Can you wash a dog while wearing these?

You can if you want to use heavy wet leather welders gloves. As,far as animal handle ming it more for holding and protection from biting.

Are these gloves suitable to handle concertina wire (razor wire?)

I work with wire and I would use the gloves. They are lined on the inside with heavy cotton and made with leather on the outside. However, the fingers are very bulky and it would be difficult to manipulate the wire.

Can these be washed? Have had mine for a few months and they smell like rancid oil

Well I have not tested the cat issue but these gloves are really thick and go to my elbows. So far iguana no bites or scratches from iguana. You can also work in the brush with these. I was surprised of the quality for price
