How do you determine what size bicycle to buy?

This size is good for 3,4, and 5 year olds. We bought the smallest size for our grandson who was three at the time we gave it to him

Can a 5 yr. Old ride on it?

Depends on the height of the 5 year old. I actually got this for my 3 year old and it's a little big but it still works for him. He is almost as tall as his 5 year old sister. We got her the same size and it fits her great. She is a little taller than average for her age.

Can a six year old ride it?

Depends on size, like my 3 year old grandson can ride it now but by next year he will to big for it. He is tall for his age, where as my other grandson, when he was six he could have because he is small in size. So it just depends on there size and height. If you look in the description, it should maybe give you some guidance

Do the tires come prefilled with air? Or do you have to fill it?

Only enough to keep the tires and tubes in place. You will need to fill them up more in order to ride the bike.
