EDIT: seller sent out a newer model with correct white gear and I can confirm the robot now functions as it should and is a great product for kids to enjoy and experiment with different movements of robots. —————— DO NOT BUY! As mentioned in many reviews already, the white gear isn’t large enough to reach the smaller adjoining cog on the green gear part, therefore can’t connect and the wheels of the robot will never turn. This isn’t user error this is a manufacturing fault and the product shouldn’t be sold. I can only think that other positive reviewers haven’t paid attention to the wheels not spinning and have just let their kids build it and thought the final build looked good. Either this or they received functioning gear boxes. I’ve added an image to show the fault. I’m out of warranty now as it was bought for a Christmas so just wasted money.

Great educational toy with lots of variety. The 12 different models keep kids engaged and help develop problem-solving skills. Instructions are mostly clear, though some parts can be a bit fiddly and may need adult help. Build quality is decent for the price. Overall, a fun and worthwhile STEM kit for kids aged 9+ and a lovely birthday gift.

I bought this solar robot kit on Amazon for the children I childmind, and it has been fantastic! The instructions were easy to follow, and the children really enjoyed building the different robots together. It’s a great way to introduce STEM learning while keeping them engaged and having fun. This was a brilliant gift. My son loved how he could transform it into different things. Any kid 6 and above would really engage with this toy.

This was a Christmas present for my 10 year old daughter. The instructions are certainly challenging and most definitely need adult assistance, but manageable with some patience. However, as others have reported, we have a gearbox with incorrectly sized gears. I have taken the gearbox apart multiple times and I am certain we have not made any build errors. The green and white gears are just not the right size to mesh with each other, and so the wheels do not turn. I can't find any way to contact the seller to request a replacement part, so the robot is useless!

Really versatile and really good value. Lots of parts to keep track of but the amount of stuff you get in the box and the possibilities are great. You’ll need some patience to get it ready to build but that’s part of the fun

This arrived quickly with all instructions but they are very small pieces. A child may struggle to build without adults help. The robot looked OK when built but did not work when placed at a light source. I would not buy again.

Habe dieses Produkt als Geburtstagsgeschenk für einen 8-jährigen Jungen gekauft. Der Aufbau ist sehr schwer und nicht für diese Altersklasse geeignet. Auch die Verarbeitung ist nicht gut. Das Solarpaneel funktioniert, aber der Roboter bewegt sich nicht, da die Teile zu „schwer“ sind. Ich würde dieses Produkt nicht weiterempfehlen.

We bought this for our grandson. It suggests for child of 8 years old. But this item is much to difficult for a child even after 10. It soon becomes en item for grandpa, and he found out the wheels which are built the essential motor were to small, they can not fit to each other so that they can't work together to carry out the basic function. It is a useless item and we are very disappointed.
