Rating: ★★★★★ (5/5)As a photography hobbyist, I’ve gone through a few tripods, and this SmallRig 72" aluminum tripod is by far the most solid one I’ve owned in this price range.It’s lightweight but very sturdy, even at full height. The flip locks are fast and reliable, and the fluid head is a great bonus—panning is smooth and steady. I’ve used it with my DSLR and it held up great with no shake or drift. Handles heavier lenses too.The tripod folds down compactly, and the included case is well-made. Setup is quick, and the overall build quality feels premium. While it doesn’t have some advanced features like a monopod option, for everyday photography—landscapes, long exposures, and portraits—it’s more than enough. It's easily adjustable for when you need the extra height too.Highly recommended if you want something dependable without spending a fortune, I paid ~£70 which I think is a bargain. Of course if you opt for a carbon fibre model it will be much lighter but even at 1-2kg it really doesn't weigh much.You get a lot for your money with Smallrig and this does not dissappoint.

KISS. Keep It Short & Simple. Well made tripod, much lighter them my last one, keeps my Air Rifle nice and steady and perfect for my telescope.

Quality product and very adaptable, very compact to carry around just incase it’s needed. Tripod or monopod, with camera and phone brackets what more could you ask.Only thing I’d say is it could do with a little handle to turn the head and it’s a bit of a fiddle to switch from tripod to monopod. In the end I just left the other two legs attached, and just had one leg extended.

An ideal travel tripod but use with understanding! I needed a travel tripod to hold a 4K JVC camera (1.2kg) for a 3 week trip to the Philippines for a semi professional shoot. Weight as an issue as I needed to keep hold baggage weight to 23kg. This tripod is well made and can double as a monopod. I liked the small hook to add stabilisation weight. I did remove the head and bought a Smallrig CH3 video head instead, the video head was fine but you need to start a pan at a point before you need it - it's certainly not a fluid head! With the supplied head it's an ideal travel tripod for a stills camera - I certainly pushed it's limits by replacing the head and using a large(ish) video camera on it but I got the job done and would recommend the tripod.

The actual tripod itself is good, quality is nice, sturdy enough, has lots of tools and spare parts and seemingly good value however my main gripe was that out of the box new it had some scratches on one of the joints and also a washer was already bent out of shape when I removed the monopod part.

To be clear from the beginning, this tripod deserves 5 stars in the price and aluminium category! Comes with a great head and extends way above my needs. Versatile, sturdy enough for a heavy camera, monopod thing it's a bonus although I cannot see myself using it. Great case and comes also with phone holder. On a heavy side, I would keep it in the car rather than attached to my bag. Overall very pleased. The extra discount was a pleasant surprise.
