Can someone please list the actual inner dimensions of the dome (width x height)? Thanks!

When I received mine, I measured it very carefully. The inner diameter of the one I got was 5 11/16 inches (14.4 cm). I didn't have an very accurate way to measure the height, but the inner usable space is a little more than 6 1/2 inches (16.5 cm) from the top of the base to the bottom of the dome.

At what height do the sides start to taper for the dome

It starts to taper at about five inches.

Can you please verify that the “black wooden base” is solid natural wood, and not mdf (medium-density fiberboard). thanks

I wish I could say for sure but the product is painted black so it's hard to tell. It does have a decent weight to it as opposed to some mdf.
