Player's Kit Guitar Polish and Scratch Remover by Eternashine, with Cloth

Giving this 5 stars because it performs exactly as advertised. That said, it absolutely *will not* work on scratches that go one iota beyond the finish - it either works amazingly well or not at all depending on the scratch, and it can be a little hard to tell in advance which category a scratch is in. My guitar actually had some shipping damage in the form of scratches all over the back of the guitar - I took a discount rather than returning it - and I hoped this product would clean up most of the damage, if not all. Well, it did clean up a lot of it. The lighter scratches are *gone*, and after not much work at all. The finish is shiny and appears new on most of the guitar's back now. However, two quarter size spots it just could not do anything with at all. One of these scratches I had a feeling would be a problem, because it's more like a gouge in the top-coat - there's actually no top-coat left in this one spot. I guess I hoped this stuff might "lift" some top-coat from somewhere else and spread it back out, but it didn't. The second area is just filled with what look like tiny little scratches (from a loose staple, which caused all my damage), but I guess they are just a tiny bit too deep because the scratch remover didn't even lighten them. I redid this area several times because it looks like it should buff out, but I got nowhere. I'm happy with this purchase because I was able to at least clean things up by about half - there are still these two noticeable spots that it couldn't get out, but the back of the guitar's not just a complete mess like it was before. If this product can't get a scratch out, though, I doubt any similar product can - the next step would have to be professional finish work, which is expensive. You may as well try this first.

Awesome, Awesome stuff. I recently bought a Gibson Les Paul Less + Unfortunately they shipped it with the pick guard on it, needless to say the pick guard scratched the paint underneath where it was placed. Since I loved the figure of the finish I refused to send it back however I tried everything I could find to try to take out the rubbed dulled finish (not so much a scratch as a worn dulled area of the guitar under where the pick guard was) anyway nothing I tried worked until I used the #1 bottle of guitar player"s kit the worn out/dulled scratched area came out shinning like new the first time I tried it and if this stuff had cost $100.00 it still would have been worth it because that guitar with the original Gibson Tuner is bound to be a collectible as Gibson has replaced all these auto tuners with standard non tuning keys. I was literally at a Guitar Center when there guitar technician was completing his last Gibson guitar key replacement, when I asked why he was doing that to the 2016 guitars he informed me that Gibson had him replace all the auto tuners with standard one's the Tech also stated that more then likely anyone who had original auto tuners with the Gibson name on them would more then likely have one of few that retained that option. Anyway back to the player's kit polish I applied it once then wiped it off immediately as suggested by the manufacturer and the defect was gone just as easy as that. I mow wish I would have taken a before and after picture to prove this (too late now the dulled area is gone) and i'm not willing to scratch a probable future collectible Gibson to prove my point. Just trust me this works awesomely. shake it well rub in well on the effected area then wipe off immediately with the cloth it comes with or something just like those. Good luck removing scratches and defects, oops nevermind, if your using this stuff you don't need any luck just remember not to let it set for hours like those who have complained about it have just shake the bottle apply rubbing with some force like you want the defect out and wipe clean. Don't let it dry or set on your Guitar!! I am sounding like a commercial even to me but I don't work for this company or have any interest in them other then there produst does work. One more thing it takes very little of this stuff to work so don't smother the effected area it's mot necessary. Enjoy your new scratch free guitar.

I'm amazed at how well this worked. I bought a Gibson acoustic used and then found a pretty deep scratching it. It wasn't deep enough to cut into the wood so I figured I'd give this a shot. I was blown away. It's incredibly close to looking new.

First of all THANK YOU, THANK YOU. I never write reviews of products. I have literally bought hundreds of things on Amazon and this is the first time I have ever felt compelled to write a review of a product. I just relocated to Washington State and have been slowly taking out my guitars out of storage and cleaning them up. I found my 1984 Fender Strat that I had not played for some time. When I opened the case, I remembered why i haven't played it. Staring me in the face was physical evidence of my stupidity. I once attached a guitar to Midi pick up on this guitar. Yeah, stupid decision number one. (Seriously, a 30YO Strat?) I attached it with some double sided tape. After years of using this guitar as a midi controller, i decided to take the pick up off. Well, the tape stuck to the guitar pretty good. So to remove the remittance of the tape, I decided to scrape it off with.... wait for it...a razor. Yeah, stupid decision number two. Well I was left with a lot of really horrible scratches. I just put the guitar in the case and left it in the closet. Fast forward to last week. I saw a video for this product on YouTube and was amazed at the results that were shown. Intrigued, I did some investigation and read all of the comments that people have left after having tried the product. All and All it had fairly good reviews and decided to try it. After I ordered it I took some pictures of the scratches and I was convinced that nothing, I mean nothing was going to rectify my mistake. So to be honest when the package arrived today I entered into the project with realistic expectations, the scratches were deep into the finish and there were a lot of them; all that I could expect is that it would look better. Well I am happy to report that after 4 applications, the scratches are nearly gone. Not all gone, but mostly gone. Before you just looked at the guitar and the scratches would jump right out at you and make any guitar lover wince. Now, you have to look for where the scratches were and what you see is more indicative of what you would see from a 30 YO guitar. I am going to keep at it because the more I use it the less I see. I also tackled the back of the guitar and removed all of the belt rash and random small scratches. I LOVE this stuff. My recommendation is that if you have surface scratches on your high gloss finish, then you owe it to yourself to try this stuff. Read the instructions and go to town. They don't promise miracles and neither do I. All I can say is that It worked on my tragic case. Thank you Eternashine!!!!

I got this kit to remove some light scratches on some fairly new guitars. The first guitar I tried it on was a brand new Jackson RRT-5 Pro with a gloss black finish, it had some light scratches on the upper fin, perpindicular to the edge, and some dull areas around the control plate, from mishandling at the factory. I mainly used the compound in the red bottle to remove these scratches, it took several applications and some elbow grease, but I removed them all successfully. Maybe I got a bad batch, but the blue bottle seemed to add more scratches than it removed, as well as dulling the finish, though a few applications of the red solution removed all of that and restored the gloss perfectly. I was really satisfied with how it worked on the gloss black, the red polish really added a ,mirror like, luster as well as removing the fine scratches. The second guitar I tried it on was a two year old ESP LTD MH1001NT with a transparent black finish, it had pick scratches and lots of fine scratches on the top of the body, from were I rested my arm in playing position. These scratches were a little deeper than on the Jackson and were more difficult to remove, but I was able to remove most of them. Again, I mainly used the red bottle for this and it added a deep glossy luster to the clear finish. I know I could polish out every single scratch if I spent more time, but I was satisfied with the results. The last guitar I tried it on was an ESP LTD EC1000 that was relatively new, but had some fine scratches near the edges of the body from handling. This guitar also has a clear poly finish, an awesome violet and green burst, and I got similar results. Most of the scratches were removed and the same, mirror like, luster. In conclusion, I think it was worth the money. I succeeded in removing most of the scratches and all three guitars looked better than new. The best results were on the gloss black Jackson, which is impressive considering how hard it is to keep gloss black scratch-free. These were all fine scratches, most only visible at an angle with the light, so I don't know how well this product would work on deeper scratches. I deducted one star because I wasn't impressed with the performance of the blue compound, in my case I didn't need it anyway. One other thing I didn't like was the supplied microfiber towel, it left little, tiny fibers on the guitar that were hard to get off. I used my own detail towels and some microfiber waxing sponges with better results. Be prepared to spend some time on this, this stuff works but it is not something that can be accomplished in five or ten minutes, though the end results are worth it.

I bought this to remove some fine scratches on my Goodall acoustic guitar. A friend of mine who also has some Goodall Acoustic guitars used it on one of his with great results. He highly recommended it to me. It comes with a tube of Red polish and a tube of Blue polish. The Blue is for tougher larger scratches. It is a little coarser than the Red. But since the scratches were fine, I didn't need to use the Blue. I should add here that it is vitally important for your to "Read the directions COMPLETELY before use!". This is is always a good thing to do. Don't get it on any plastic parts. I don't know what will happen. The directions just say not to. It helps if you understand what polish is and is not....so don't go overboard rubbing on a deep scratch. No polish can fix a scratch that goes all the way through to the wood. And it won't fill dents and dings.....Don't even try. I rubbed a little bit in and started polishing with the microfiber cloth that comes with the kit. The first application got most. I then repeated it and got the rest of it. WOW! It is amazing polish. A little bit goes a long way. Again, READ THE DIRECTIONS COMPLETELY BEFORE USE!" Test it on a small area first. I would also ask the luthier or company that made your instrument about using this if you are not familiar with the type of finish that is on your guitar. And for other questions, you should also ask Eterna Shine's customer service people. I found them very responsive and helpful. Eterna Shine's maker recommends that if the instrument in question is a valuable collector's item then one might want to consider that other collectors might want those scratches to be there and removing scratches could DECREASE ITS VALUE. Back to my Goodall Acoustic, it looks amazing!!

I recently installed a new set of pickups into a pickguard for my minty fresh galaxy black Ibanez RG2550. While trying to get the pickguard back in place, one of the long pickup screws dragged across the top of my guitar about 1" right next to the pickup hole. While the pickguard in place about 3/4" stood out as this ugly white scratch. It didn't seem very deep, but you could easily feel it with your fingernail. I was especially sad about the scratch because it was right in a place where I could easily see it while playing, reminding me of that fatefully sad event. Fast-forward I did a little internet researching and bought this product. I started with the red and blue on the back of the guitar to check for hazing or anything. Neither caused a haze so I thought ok I'm good to go. I used the blue product about 20 times, in total 30 minutes or maybe a little more. Reduction in scratch depth about 70%. I felt like I could keep going but I got a bit lazy, and my hands were sore. However, worth noting, the scratch is essentially invisible now unless you view it at the correct light! The product especially took away that fresh, white scarring of the scratched gloss finished. The scratch can no longer be felt by my fingernail. Hallelujah! All in all, it takes some muscle, but I think even with medium depth scratches it could be worth a purchase. The product will round and smooth the edges of the scratch and make it less ugly. That's a definite. As for me, I'm happy!

The product is truly amazing! Unlike a lot of the users that have purchased the product to remove scratches from their prize guitars, I purchased it in the hope that it may resolve the tarnishing a pitting on my guitars caused by me using a Deet based mosquito repellent before doing an outside gig in swamp like conditions. With mosquito repellent applied minutes before starting the gig, I used my custom shop relic Fender 1963 Strat for the first 6 songs then switch to a custom shop Gibson 335 1959 Dot reissue. The Strat took the hardest hit; the lacquer was dulled and pitted on the right side of the body. The 335 fared only slightly better with less pitting. Miraculously came across this 'Guitar Scratch Remover Polish' and started with the 335. As recommended, read the instructions from end to end and watched the online videos to give myself the best chance of suggest. With in 10 minutes of polishing hard (as per instruction), the 335 was blemish free and shining like a jewel. Applied the same techniques to the Strat which had the worst damage. It took a little longer to start seeing the progress but after 25 minutes of hard polishing, the tarnishing and pitting was completely gone. Unbelievable !! I have just placed another order for the larger bottles, in case I ever need it again - hopefully I won't ;) So for you fellow guitarist on the verge of depression due to damage to your beloved axes and in desperate need for a solution, it works on Nitro thin skin lacquer (the Strat) and nitrocellulose lacquer (the 335).
