Next best snack to raw fruit! Kid-friendly, too!
Lunch and breakfast are challenges for our family of four during the school year. We're running three different schedules, so opportunities to eat breakfast and lunch together are on the weekends and holidays. We pack fruit into our sons' lunchboxes but it isn't uncommon for a bruised apple or banana to return untouched. (The bananas wind up in bread and the apples go into salads or curries.) Still, we're on the lookout for healthy, practical foods to fill their lunchboxes. The morning rotation goes something like this: oatmeal, cold cereal or granola bars, bagels and fresh fruit, and, occasionally, leftovers. The lunch rotation: sandwiches, granola bars and fresh fruit, leftovers and, occasionally, a hot lunch from the school cafeteria that never meets our son's expectations. (It should come as no surprise that we regularly prepare a breakfast - eggs, bacon and toast - for dinner.)It was with keen interest that I purchased That's It Apple and Cherry Premium Fruit Bars on Amazon. The bars have a chewiness like fruit leather and a mild (natural) sweetness. I like them best with hot coffee or hot tea. I nibble a bit, roll it around on my tongue and let the fruit flavors release. The sour bite of cherry is followed by a mellower apple.Taste satisfied, I wanted to compare the bars with two other brands we had in our house. That's It Apple and Cherry Premium Fruit Bars -- Calories: 100; Fiber: 3g; Protein: 1gIngredients: Apples, cherries* Fruit (natural energy boost)* Vitamins A & C and Beta-Carotene* Non-GMO, Gluten-free, Vegan, Kosher, Diabetic friendlyApples:* low in calories* rich in dietary fiber which decreases cholesterol levels* no saturated fats or cholesterol* vitamin-C* Beta-Carotene* good source of B-complex vitaminsCherries:* low in calories* has melatonin which helps you sleep better and fight jet lag* minerals: potassium, iron, zinc, copper and manganese* Lutein and Zeaxanthin for eye health* high in antioxidants such as anthocyanins, which have anti-inflammatory and anti-aging propertiesCOMPARISON #1: Nature Valley Sweet and Salty Nut Granola Bars -- Calories: 170; Fiber: 2g; Protein: 4gIngredients: Roasted Peanuts, High Maltose Corn Syrup, Sugar, Rolled Oats, High Fructose Corn Syrup, Palm Kernel Oil, Crisp Rice (Rice Flour, Sugar, Malt, Salt), Wheat Flakes (Whole Wheat, Sugar, Salt, Malt), Fructose, Peanut Butter (Peanuts, Salt), Yogurt Powder (Cultured Whey Protein Concentrate, Cultured Skim Milk, Yogurt Cultures), Canola Oil, Water, Maltodextrin, Salt, Nonfat Milk, Soy Lecithin, Color (Yellows 5 & 6 Lake, Red 40 Lake, Blue 1 Lake and Other Color Added), Natural Flavor, Almonds, Baking Soda, Honey, Sunflower Meal, Mixed Tocopherols Added to Retain Freshness.COMPARISON #2: Quaker Soft Baked Cereal Bar, Banana Nut Bread -- Calories: 140; Fiber: 5g; Protein: 6gIngredients: Whole grain rolled oats, soy crisp rice (soy protein isolate, rice starch, rice flour), brown sugar, invert sugar, oligofructose, almonds, water, polydextrose, vegetable shortening (canola oil, palm oil, palm kernel oil), sugar, freeze dried bananas, glycerin, whole oat flour, dried pureed bananas.Contains 2% or less of oat bran concentrate, dextrose, corn syrup, fructose, modified food starch, corn flour, sodium alginate, malic acid, salt, dried whole eggs, malted barley extract, calcium carbonate, natural flavor (contains coconut), sodium bicarbonate, soy lecithin, pecans, alpha tocopherol acetate (vitamin E), niacinamide (vitamin B3), natural mixed tocopherols, vitamin A palmitate, thiamin mononitrate (vitamin B1), riboflavin (vitamin B2), pyridoxine hydrochloride (vitamin B6), cyanocobalamin (vitamin B12).COST BREAKDOWNBased on the lowest price available on Amazon.com (including the Subscribe & Save program):* That's It: $1.37 per 35g bar ($0.04 per gram)* Quaker: $0.42 per 42g bar ($0.01 per gram)* Nature Valley: $0.39 per 35g bar ($0.01 per gram)In summary, That's It Apple and Cherry Premium Fruit Bars are 3-4x more expensive than the Nature Valley and Quaker brands. That may seem strange but there's an inverse relationship between the number of ingredients and the price.I read the health benefits listed on the company's website: That's It bars are non-GMO, gluten-free, vegan, kosher and diabetic friendly. The company states that the fruit used has "the lowest glycemic index levels. By keeping your blood sugar low and constant, you will feel full longer and therefore eat less."So, Nature Valley and Quaker bars are cheaper but you're more likely to eat more than one and with each you'll consume an ingredient list that includes high fructose corn syrup, glycerin, artificial colors (Yellows 5 & 6 Lake, Red 40 Lake, Blue 1 Lake), and vegetable shortening.Yeah, I'm switching to That's It Premium Fruit Bars, too.Rating: Five stars

Go To Snack for Parents & Toddlers Alike - Healthy, Guilt Free, what's not to love?!
That's it. Apple + Pineapple has quickly become a household favorite for both my two-year-old toddler and myself. This guilt-free snack has won us over with its simplicity and deliciousness. One of the standout features of this snack is its pure and short list of ingredients, containing nothing but real fruit. It's a refreshing change from the heavily processed and sugary snacks that are all too common nowadays. What brings me immense joy is seeing my toddler routinely reach for That's it. Apple + Pineapple in the snack cabinet. It's a testament to the snack's quality and taste that even a two-year-old recognizes its appeal. As a parent, there's nothing more satisfying than knowing that my child is reaching for a snack that not only tantalizes their taste buds but also nourishes their growing body. That's it. Apple + Pineapple has become a go-to snack option in our household, and I couldn't be happier with our choice. It's proof that simple, wholesome ingredients can make for an incredibly satisfying and health-conscious snack choice for the entire family.

Love the product. Shrinkflation is definitely happening.
I am a teacher and I rely on these bars for lunch. I like most of the flavors and feel that I am eating a healthy meal in between my classes. I recently bought a new box of bars for the beginning of the school year. What I noticed immediately was that the individual package size was the same, but the actual bar was about 3/4 of the size it used to be. I'm disappointed that I am paying the same amount of money (if not more) for less product.

My absolute favorite fruit snack. A little pricey, but so delicious. I will continue to buy.

Tasty, Healthy, and Consistent
These That's It bars are great! However, I would say that the pineapple flavor is minimal, as opposed to other products. Still, I like them and will buy them again.

Other flavors are better
I like this product in general but this pineapple flavor is not one I can recommend. I end up spitting out little pieces of hard pineapple skin. Pineapples can be hard to clean but they seem to do a good job on canned pineapple, so why is there bits of rind in my fruit bar?

OMG. These are great. Why didn't we have these ages ago?
After reading lots of reviews, we got a box of the Apples + Cherry. Wow. So good. We split one to try it, and everyone was impressed. Not long after that my kid went back for one, saying how amazing they are. They remind me of fruit roll-ups, but thicker and without the chemical smell and taste.I'm ordering other flavors in the hopes that they're good, too.
