I received the “maker” for christmas and it doesn’t appear to have any blades. which blade do i need to buy for cutting vinyl and where can i find it?

You need either the Cricut Fine Point Blade (Rose colored housing) or the Cricut Deep Cut Blade (Black colored housing). The Deep Cut is the most efficient. They can be purchased at Amazon, Michael's, Joann's or wherever Cricut machines are sold.

Does this fit for the cricut explore air 2?

I believe it is only for the cricut maker

Are protective caps available for the Quick Swap tips?

All the tips that cut have caps. The engraver and embossed do not have caps
