This will definitely give you that clicky "Pantera" bass drum sound.
I play thrash metal and always struggle with hearing my bass drum especially when playing fast double bass. I read about this item and decided to try it. It's very strange initially as my plastic beater just tapping the plate makes a distinct weird click. When you actually play the bass drum, full hit, you hear the click attack backed up by the actual sound of the drum. It is very reminiscent of Vinnie Paul's bass drum sound on their recordings, especially Far Beyond Driven.I had used plastic click pads years ago but they would eventually crack and then break the drum head. The adhesive would wear off and the pad would fall off so I stopped using them. Because this is metal, it will not crack and break the drum head. I did see others mention that the adhesive wears off as well, so as you can see by my picture, I used gorilla tape around the plate as well as the adhesive to secure it to the drum. .I have had many rehearsals with it and it still sounds great and is held secure. If you don't play metal, I would NOT recommend this as even soft hits will be clicky. We don't have ballads or any song that isn't heavy, so this works wonderfully for me. My bass drum now cuts through the other sounds in the room so that my double bass work can be heard. I know it will sound amazing mic'd as the old plastic click pads I used long ago did.

Great sound, stays glued on, and is pretty durable
I've been using these Danmar metal pads for about a decade. The most recent one stayed on my kick drum head for about 2 years, before it finally cracked. I keep the springs on my pedal extremely tight, and have very strong legs, so these are definitely very durable. I have never, ever had an issue with these pads coming unglued. They always stick very well. I will say this though - this is a very extreme sounding product. The metallic click is very loud, and probably would sound bad to people who play genres of music other than rock/metal. I like to use the plastic sides of my batters, against the metal, which gives me a click sound that almost sounds like I have electronic triggers. This allows my kick drum to be heard loud and clear, even without a microphone. It does affect the playability and the bounce of your head, but you'll get used to it very quickly. I Can't imaging playing a kick drum without this pad, now that I'm so used to it.

You will either love it or hate it
The media could not be loaded. It gives you click but it takes some getting used to with its rebound. It’s super abrasive on its own. I can see where some players would like it because it does give you a trigger like sound, but it completely takes away dynamics. You can barely tap it and it will really sound like you are kicking hard. If you play metal this will make you cut through. Without guitars blasting though this thing sounds really gross. The adhesive does come off after not too long and you are stuck with either having to tape it, glue it back on and ruin your head or trash it 🤷🏼♂️ Not worth it, especially if you are playing with your kick miced.

A trigger click without the trigger money
I was hesitant to try the metal click pads from Danmar at first, thinking it would sound like crapola. I was dead wrong. Mic'd up, my bass drum now sounds like its triggered. Nice, even strokes, a nice punchy click, and still enough depth to sound like a real bass drum, not a digitally made sound. If you play any genre of metal, be it death metal, hardcore, black metal, or whatever, I suggest getting one of these pads.I do also suggest as well, getting a better adhesive though, as the pads are pretty heavy, and have a tendency to fall off after a good 3 hour bash-fest.You can read all you want, truth is, you arent going to know unless you try. I suggest to try this pad. Especially if you want a nice punchy click, and cant afford triggers, or dont want to have your bass drum digitally altered.

For live performance and home recording these do a great job. Strictly acoustic though
For live performance and home recording these do a great job. Strictly acoustic though, they do sound like metal hitting metal. If you are in a loud band and play in acoustically challenged places, these will give you an edge if not mic'd during practice because they cut through all sound. If you mic them and the sound guy knows what he is doing, they sound really cool. For home recording... they solved ALL of my problems. Just put a proper EQ on them and raise the low levels just a bit and they sound great.

I love it.
I like it. I use mine specifically for recording and it gives my kick drum a nice click sound on the track. It's perfect and everything I ever wanted.

kick pad
It sounds like a sledgehammer hitting a railroad tie, if you're into that sort of thing. Too Clicky for recording but cuts through a live band setup great.

You need one if you play hard!
The best disk available. Your bass drum will cut through anyrhing w/this disk! I use Danmar wooden beaters and the sound is incredible live and on recordings.
