Can you play this with Season 1 and Season 2 sets?

Yes! Marvel Dice Throne is completely compatible with both season 1 and season 2. It’s also compatible with Dice Throne Adventures. I just started a campaign with Spider-Man! The only product for Marvel Dice Throne that hasn’t been made are the miniatures of different heroes that are used for Dice Throne Adventures but the cardboard standees look great and do the job.

Can you practice solo are the abilities hidden or known ??

While not a solo game (there's no solo game mode), you could technically play solo by simply playing yourself, against yourself. It is, however, meant to be a multi-player game. Also, the abilities are not hidden, but clearly written on the character cards. There are cards that you can draw that contain upgrades to certain abilities.

Where do you start? Is there a “base” game? Do you to play seasons in order?

This is a stand alone game. No need to play ‘seasons’ in order. You battle amongst characters, each character has its own ‘box with components: cards, dice & tokens. Can even use a Marvel character to battle against any other Dice Throne characters.
