Turning off the winding coastal road and seeing the old farmhouse surrounded by cranberry vines ahead, Lilyโs breath catches in her throat. Itโs just how she remembers it. But pushing open the wooden front door for the first time in decades, itโs clear everything has changedโฆ When her estranged aunt Dahlia dies, single mother Lily Lindgren is surprised to inherit the family home and cranberry farm. Returning to Dune Island for the first time since Dahlia admitted to a terrible betrayal that shattered Lilyโs trust in her family, sheโs ready to sell up and finally create a stable future for her little boy. But her high-school crush and farm manager Jake Benson is determined to stop Lilyโs planโฆ After helping Dahlia turn part of the house into a local produce store, Jake shared her dream of making the cranberry farm a community hub for the island. His stories about Dahlia, and how much she had missed Lily all these years, make Lily question if she was wrong to never forgive her aunt. And when Jake joins her long walks over the sand dunes, thereโs an undeniable sparkโฆ could a move to Dune Island be the key to her and her sonโs happiness? But then, clearing out Dahliaโs bedroom, Lily finds an old picture of Dahlia that stops her in her tracks. Just when she was making peace with Dahliaโs memory and learning to trust again, Lilyโs heart is shattered to find she was keeping another secret. Can Lily trust Jake to tell her the painful truthโ or will she run from Dune Island again for good? An utterly beautiful beach read about family secrets, finding yourself, and learning the true meaning of home. Perfect for fans of Carolyn Brown, Barbara OโNeal and Mary Alice Monroe. Cranberries
Lily's story was an absolute page turner. The story was engaging, and focusing on someone close to you resignated with me. I could relate to the grief Lily was going thru.

Annoying Main Character
I kept waiting for the dramatic reason the main character had not only left her home and never come back, but also refused to speak of it, gave up her passion for photography, and was selling her birthright. It should be horrific, right? Turns out she thought her aunt had an affair. Seriously? That shaped her entire life? The way she leapt to conclusions and acted so dramatic over normal teenage stuff, things that were very run of the mill, just made me not care what happened by midway through. If anything, I was hoping some other person would come out of the woodwork and be the real heiress to the farm. Quick read; I won't bother with the sequels.

Very good story
A little slow at times, but it all came together in the end ... Characters were developed and believable. Helped me realize how much some people let what other people think about them affect their lives... and also how WE let what we might believe about a situation [without confronting truth] affect our lives too...

Redemption
Lily returns to Hope Haven thinking she knows the past and wants to leave it in the past, buried by her anger. Fortunately, her time there allows her to learn that the past seen through the eyes of an adult and with facts she never knew can put much of that anger to rest and create a happier future for her and her son. I gave this 4 stars because of the editing errors, not the story. I really enjoyed the story, even if I was sometimes annoyed by Lily's stubbornness. Hope Have and the Cranberry farm seem like places I would like to visit.

I'm ready to move to the island
While there was a lot of crying in this story, the location and the cranberry bogs were sparkling. There was just enough tension. The end was unlikely, but I'll buy the next book by this author.

Nice and easy
This is the third book in this series by the author. I have enjoyed reading all of them and have downloaded another two to read at a later date. The characters are relatable as are the way they are dealing with feeling and situatIons. Grief affects each and everyone of us differently. I don't usually like American stories as I don't know the country and I like to think / read about places I've been to or would like to visit in the UK.

I did enjoy reading this book and delving in to life on Dune Island. I had a feeling it would all end happily and I wasn't disappointed.
