MAJORITY Bard Bluetooth Internet Radio with DAB+, 100W 2.1 Speakers

Providing you have a (small amount), of technical knowledge, e.g. you how how to input a WIFI password, this is very easy to set up! There is the option to press the WPS button on your router, but as that wasn't near where the radio was situated, I inputted the password. Once you've got it connected, it's easy to work everything else out. The user manual is also very clear. I'm impressed by the quality of such a small music system. It produces good, clear sound, the graphic equaliser allows to to alter the sound to suit your requirements. The DAB radio works well with the antenna The favourites/presets are easy to set and use. It's not worth bothering with the podcast feature!... It only stores the current episode of the podcast you're listening to, and does not allow you to subscribe to a series. You can easily listen to podcasts on the radio by streaming from your mobile phone via Bluetooth. The Bluetooth works well. I listen to audiobooks and music from my mobile. I haven't used the Spotify or USB features. The screen is clear and easy to read. I think this is excellent value for money 😊

Majority Bard review The moment I saw the Majority Bard I was struck by its sleek design and the way the interface looked on the front panel. The Bard looks powerful and the whole unit oozes quality. It looks very modern and will sit comfortably in any home. I just had to purchase the unit straight away, I was sure it was perfect for me. My expectations were - good quality sound with ease of use and many features. Those expectations were surpassed with awesome sound and a host of features that are really easy to use. I do listen to lots of classical music as well as pop and vintage music which are kept on an Ipod and my phone as well as a USB stick - now I just use the one machine to listen to all of them. The other major thing I listen to on a daily basis is the radio and with over 25000 stations globally to listen to, it did not take long for me to fill the favourites list. It was simplicity itself to find all my favourite stations like Radio 3, 4, Classic fm, Smooth Radio, Jazz and all my local stations. They were all in the prescanned list so I only had to save them. The DAB radio and fm radio seem to have an endless list of stations and as yet I have not found a station that hisses or drops out. As you would expect the sound is amazing on both DAB and Fm. The quality of the sound is superb with a powerful bass which enhances the sound experience. Instruments like the cello sound wonderful, deep and rich. There is an equaliser so one can adapt the sound to a preferred taste. Once you download Spotify which is easy – it can be used as a remote control to listen to music and podcasts which run smoothly without buffering problems. I also downloaded the UNDOK app which you use as a remote control for the unit on your phone. Both apps work really well. It did not take long for me to explore the podcasts. I loved immersing myself into stories and lectures to relax. The Bluetooth function works seamlessly with my phone and Ipodcreating a truly immersive sound experience for me. Setup was easy and the unit comes with a quickstart guide to help if you need it, you can also download the full manual from the internet if you need to but I have not done that yet because everything was so easy and intuitive. Overall I would say this is a fabulous purchase, well worth the money. I have not found one thing to criticise yet and do not expect to either, recommended with 5 stars.

This internet radio is the one i would highly recommend Looks,,,,very good and sleek looking . Sound,,,,excellent Sound quality . Volume,,,,loud enough for what you need and on full volume doesn't distort . Set-up,,,very easy to set-up and navigate around the menu . Remote,,,,nice in hand and has everything on it you need . App,,,,the app works very well and surprisingly all the Features it has in the app . Bluetooth,,,,play music from your phone or tablet the Bluetooth works very well and it get good distance . Was looking for a DAB+ radio as alternative to FM which was driving me nuts with poor signal. Looked at Roberts STREAM94LBK which has very good ratings, but, I didn't really like the retro design. This Majority Bard has all the same major functionality and it's both smaller and less expensive, so I decided to give it a try. Overall : Highly Recommended- I've no regrets. It has both DAB+ radio, internet radio, streams via Bluetooth and plays music from USB storage (+ FM radio, alarm and can stream Spotify). It's not hi-fi quality, but, not really needed when main use is for radio and it's certainly powerful enough. Couple of negatives they should work on - 1) It's a pain that it only plays MP3 files and that USB storage has to be suitably formatted - much better/easier if it accepted wider range of music compression formats so I could move the usb storage device between devices (car, laptop, home cinema amplifier, Fiio player etc) - would also be nice that it shows more track information and the album art like it does in my car and on the Fiio and 2) only accepts bluetooth input - so e.g. it can stream music from your phone - whilst it would be great if it also had bluetooth output so you can connect bluetooth headphones. I haven't found any equivalent device which has this functionality built in - which is something of a glaring omission since; eh, hello; who uses wired headphones these days? This device has only been on the market a short time and seems to be almost a secret - since there is almost no information and a complete lack of reviews on the internet, yet, my feeling is they are really on the right track. Given I can get internet radio and connect bluetooth headphones with my phone - then do I need this? Well, yes - it can fill the room with sound, it's easy to select stations, has DAB radio and an alarm - it's really very convenient and useful. Given the size, design and price then these things can be forgiven, but, if they were addressed then this would make an already excellent product absolutely outstanding.

I was attracted to the Majority Bard as I already have several other Majority audio products in the house and have been impressed by their price/performance ratio, exceeding anything that's available in Currys/Argos at comparable prices. When I received and unpacked my Bard media system, I was first of all impressed with how well packaged it was, and with the quality and tactile feel of the remote control; similar to that of my Denon hi-fi system. I had a quick look through the Instruction Manual, however I often like to figure out tech on my own before consulting the book. Firstly, I set up my home Wi-fi network with the Bard which was quick and easy using the WPS button on the side of my router. Within around two minutes of unboxing, I had the unit up and running; eager to start looking for exotic radio stations utilising its internet radio feature. Having found several radio stations with a minute or so that I enjoyed in Spain some years ago, I was immediately impressed with the '100w stereo sound' as stated on the specs - the stereo speakers and top-mounted subwoofer may be quite small in size, but thanks to the amp they pack a very sturdy punch. The placement on the sides of the unit may frustrate some audiophiles, however this size of stereo system is more intended for ambient/party/kitchen/bedroom listening in my opinion, and it will do an excellent job of that - it is more than loud enough to be heard at the other end of the house when at 3/4 volume on my bedside table. As mentioned, the unit has access to the thousands of internet radio stations across the globe and tons of DAB+ radio stations in the UK, which can be easily searched either on the unit or via the excellent UNDOK smartphone app, which grants slick remote access to the vast majority of the units feature. I already have some of my favourite stations stored in the 40-strong 'Preset' list for each radio type! I also utilise the Spotify Connect feature regularly, which was previously only something I could use with my home assistant speaker, which sounds nowhere as good as the Bard. Spoilt for choice with connectivity, I also tried out the bluetooth and aux-in features which work flawlessly as expected. I've yet to try the USB function but I'd expect it to work well, going by how good the interface is and how well the UNDOK app works for selecting tracks, radio stations and sources. Since I am using the system in my bedroom at the moment, I did try the Dual Alarm function out of curiosity and thanks to the auto-updating clock, it woke me up with my radio station of choice exactly when I needed it to, though it did take me a while to switch it off in the darkness of a 6am rise.. I'm sure this will not be an issue once I become more familiar with the button placement. In summary, I'm extremely happy with my Majority Bard; it's small but mighty.. small in dimensions but mighty in features and sound. There's definitely a place for one in every home!

I bought the Majority Bard music system to replace a Panasonic Tuner/CD/DAB/Bluetooth system which become defective and made streaming by Bluetooth a very poor affair. The Bard is solidly built with a correspondingly reassuring weight that gives it a sturdy feel when placed and as a result the controls on the face are easy to operate , though the remote control is probably going to be the most used interface for me. Setting-up the Bard is very easy , pretty much plug-and-go , with music available within seconds from all functions. I will be using the Bard as a dining room music system, that readily & swiftly allows guests to stream their own playlists, apart from that most probably I will make plenty of use of the DAB radio for music. I like the 2.4" screen which assists the selection process and provides track information. I am less likely to use the FM or Aux-in modes but it's handy to have them. The FM aerial is neatly stored at the rear of the system and is generally out of view. I am pleased with the sound , which is an improvement on the previous Panasonic unit , it's ideal for the size of the room that I will use it in , and I intend it primarily for background music. There is a good bass element to the sound especially given the size of the system itself. I have seen some comments about the power output rating of 100w , of course sound systems have more than one way of specifying output, all I can say is that the power output for me is absolutely fine . The system is mains-powered only , and again , that is fine for me. I had a Creative Sound-blaster Roar as as a well-built portable/mains Bluetooth speaker, that had good sound but the built-in rechargeable battery failed in less than 24 months , which is very very poor. The Bard has a 3 year warranty (by registration) which is SO much better than Creative offered. All indications are that this system is going to do a good job for me, by being versatile, well built and having a good sound for a small system.

Great internet radio. Easy to set up, it automatically takes you through a set up wizard for the core settings when you first switch it on. Connecting to WiFi via WPS was quick and easy, and the connection has been 100% solid over the week I’ve had it so far. Sounds great for the background music I use it for - warm but clear. It can sound a bit muddy if you switch on Loudness, but leaving this off and a tweak with the bass and treble settings has got it perfect. There’s a button on the front that gives you quick access to saved stations. If you need to search for internet stations, the on-screen keyboard is actually surprisingly quick to use with the rotary control on the front, better than I expected. The unit is more compact than I had assumed - which is great as it doesn’t take up much kitchen worktop space - but it sounds bigger than expected.

A well made, sturdy, sleek and minimalist unit. The good :- 1. As I indicated the sound for such a compact unit is excellent and predefined equalizer settings along with the one the user can define as required (broken down to bass, treble & loudness) round out the 2.1 sound admirably . 2. The minimalist facade is just that, with a pleasing aesthetic.. 3. The unit is well made and sturdy. 4. Internet & FM radio work straight out of the box. 5. The Aux Line in works as expected. 6. The user interface be it from the provided remote control or the unit based controls is straight forward and utilitarian. The bad :- 1. DAB+ radio is useless here in Ireland. The seller should know this & include some information regarding the lack. 2. Spotify. To use spotify you must start it up on another device (desktop, phone) & then you can control it from the Majority. So really not a proper implementation of spotify on the Majority. 3. Bluetooth connects easily and integrates well with existing Bluetooth devices but not with older Bluetooth devices. For example I have an older i-pod classic 6 with a Bluetooth 2 module which integrates easily with my laptop, desktop and Aukey Bluetooth speaker but not with this unit. Still it does sound great when connected via the Aux Line In. Another issue is that you can't connect to Bluetooth headphones. Overall a disappointing purchase especially when the price point is taken into account. If it were an appropriately priced great sounding Bluetooth speaker, you could connect your music, fm & internet radio via Bluetooth from your desktop, phone. As it stands I can't recommend this unit.
