I've got four Brightech floor lamps that all look pretty much the same but have different types of switches (continuous dimmer vs. three-step dimmer vs. on/off) and finishes (black, silver, white). I use all but one of them daily, and they've collectively been great, which is why I keep buying them. (Well, that and the fact that my apartment has lousy lighting.) This one, though, which is arguably the fanciest, was acting out for a couple of weeks—not always turning on when I tapped the switch, and sometimes going into what I call Tantrum Mode, where it'd be just barely lit for hours and then might pop up to full brightness when I was nowhere near it. Whee! I had begun bracing myself for having to beg for support, as of course it's almost a year out of warranty. So I want to point out: If this happens to you, follow the troubleshooting steps on Brightech's website! These are: “1. Try plugging your lamp into another outlet. When doing so, tap the power button just once and wait a few minutes, the LED capacitor may need time to warm up. 2. If you have another lamp from Brightech with the same adapter, try using that adapter with the non-working lamp to see if that helps. 3. Try disassembling and reassembling it.” I'd already tried steps 1 and 2 (if #2 fixes it, note that you can find third-party adapters on Amazon for about $10; this one worked for my oldest lamp: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07W63LWW6), but I hadn't thought of number 3, and that's what did the trick. It's back! It's happy! It's like a whole new lamp! Is it a design flaw that the connections inside the lamp can get out of whack while it's doing nothing but just standing there? Maybe, but I wish everything in my apartment were so easy to fix. I'd still recommend the Sky family of lamps to a friend, and if one of my four finally goes kaput, I'll probably replace it with another one of the same.

Brightech SKY 30 Flux LED Torchiere Floor Lamp - Energy Saving, Dimmable & ADJUSTABLE COLOR TEMPERATURE- Modern Tall Standing Pole Uplight Lamp Light -Living Room, Dorm, Bedroom & Office -Alpine White I bought this to replace a halogen lamp that failed. As it was heavy, hot, and dangerous, requiring a metal and glass shield around the bulb, I went with the LED. I chose this one because of the options to use at three different color temperatures. It works, it looks great, and I really like the color temps changes. Highly pleased. Now, for two cons. The small one is its height. I am over 6 feet tall and the lamp is apparently just 6 feet. So the light would get in my eyes while standing near it, but it has a swivel LED light that can be tilted away from the room, so this is not a serious problem. But I would recommend making the lamp 6.5 feet tall in the next edition. The bigger problem is that the instructions are one page, mostly a simple illustration. There was no indication that the connection for the light control to the power cord was easily damaged, so when I tried plugging it together the same way the power cord and base connected, I bent the small pins in the control connection. I wrote to the company and explained what had happened, and to my surprise, they promptly offered to replacement part with some additional guidance on connecting the control. When the part came, I was easily able to connect it correctly and get the light working. So FIVE STARS for Customer Service. Thank you, Brighttech. ONE STAR for the instructions. There really needs to be an inset explaining how delicate the control connection is and how to gently slip the connection together, so some other idiot doesn't damage his new lamp.

Good modern replacement for an ancient 300-watt incandescent that was also a space heater, like it or not. The old one buzzed annoyingly at the dimmer setting we preferred; this one is perfectly quiet and no touchable surface is more than warm to the touch. On the other hand, this one is not designed to dim to extinguished - it is possible, but apparently not at this price point. Ours is placed in a corner not terribly convenient to reach. It can be turned on by a wall switch that is accessible, but if a variation with a remote control had been available we would have chosen it. This comes with a color-selection control, as do many rivals. If color is controlled by mixing two banks of LEDs, I'd prefer forgoing the color changing capability and having a brighter one-color lamp.

I've purchased two of these lamps and I'm considering purchasing a third. They're so easy to set up, and add a lot of very needed light to my apartment. The dimmer and ability to switch between warm and bright light is a very nice feature, especially in the evenings. The cord is pretty long, and the light itself can be angled in any direction. Due to the way it's positioned upward, it projects a great deal of light though. One lamp alone has added enough for a fairly large room. One light did start to flicker and I reached out to customer service to see if it could be repaired. As it was apparently within the warranty period, they sent me an entirely new lamp. I was very impressed, and it added to my confidence in purchasing additional products from them. I know there are other similar lamps out there, but these are really great, and I highly recommend them.
