0-30-697"Tylon" Tape Measure, Black/Yellow, 5 m/19 mm

I really liked this centimeter-only tape measure I bought, as it will be useful for occasions where I need precision on the right side of the tape. That said, I’ll always keep a tape measure with inches on hand, too, since I really like using them. It feels like high quality, with a rubber body and clear printing of the numbers and lines—a great purchase. The only thing I didn't like was that annoying barcode sticker they put on the front of the tape to identify it—it’s impossible to peel off completely. I like to keep my tools looking good, but that sticker left it looking messy.

What a great little tape (I got the 5 meter). I went to my local hardware store and they had no metric tapes, not even combined. It was all inches. I did a lot of Amazon searching before I found this one. Stanley makes a great tape. My 25 foot tape is Stanley, so I trusted the name. This is my first metric tape, but probably not my last. I might pick up the 8 meter in the future. UPDATE: Collect them all! I had my 5 meter tape for a while. Loved it. Got the 8 meter. Is this Stanley's toughest, most premium tape? No. Does it need to be? Well, are you a contractor, carpenter, or construction worker? If not, then you don't need to spend twice as much on a Fatmax. These Tylon tapes are great for around the house and yard and very affordable.

Not sure why it's so hard to find a metric tape measure in the States. I believe this one shipped from Australia, so it took a bit to get here. However, I love having a durable tape measure that does not require me to do a bunch of conversions.

Working in CAD design in metric makes life much easier and having a measuring tape that goes well beyond my small metric rulers has made measuring to make designs much easier. Solid build with a small and handy size at a great price. It has been very helpful.

Mostly good. Kind of small, but it is only a 3 meter tape measure. I would have preferred a wider tape with larger numbers because my 70 year old eyes like large print. The case is solid enough for occasional home use, it's small enough to comfortably drop into a pocket making the belt clip something you may want to remove to do so. Someone mentioned "it's a darn toy" referring to it's "cute size" I guess and yes, it was my immediate reaction as well. BUT here in the States, where we show our exceptionalism by embracing some English king's idea of a logical system of measurement, it's hard to find tools for the measurement system all but four countries in the whole world use. SMH Thankfully Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin and Alexander Hamilton decided to use a metric system for our currency and dump the then existent weird English monetary system. They did not choose to adapt metric weights and measures, so here we are. Too bad. Stanley tools (an American company??) made this particular tool in Belgium yet though the measuring tape ONLY has metric measure ( as I wished) it still put ONLY American measurement on the case to add to whatever metric measurement showed on the tape if one had measured an inside length. That marking is very small and completely useless to the tool. Stars off for stupidity.

Perfect for any precise work. I use it mostly for 3D printing needs and I'm starting to switch more of my life over to metric as it is way more precise and easier to work with.

Als ich das Standley Maßband in den Warenkorb legte und es 3 Tage später auspacken durfte, wurde von meiner Frau erst bemängelt, wieso ich denn Geld für ein Maßband ausgeben, wir haben doch 2 da, und die sind doch in jedem billigen Werkzeugset dabei. - hat sie Recht. ABER: Die Qualität von Maßbändern die irgendwo dabei sind oder die man "halt so daheim hat" ist nicht mit dieser zu Vergleichen. DAs Gehäuse ist zum einen um Welten robuster und die Oberfläche ist sehr griffig, mit Gummierung und von der Form einfach wahnsinnig ergonomisch und deutlich besser handzuhaben als diese 0815 Dinger. Es steht auch ordentlich von alleine, bei vielen eine wahre Zitterpartie, hier absolut nicht. Zudem gibt es einen stabilen Gürtelclip und auch die Materialstärke bzw. die Beschaffenheit und Qualität der Skalierung auf dem Band sind einfach deutlich hochwertiger. -> man arbeitet damit einfach lieber und der Preis hält sich nun wahrlich in Grenzen. Ich finde es war ein toller Kauf, empfehle jedem, der ein gescheites MAßband mit ordentlicher Ablesbarkeit, guter Funktion, guter Ergonomie (sowohl in der Hand als auch beim abstellen). Alles in allem ein gutes Produkt mit angemessenem Preis. TOP!

¿Qué se puede decir de un metro Stanley? Calidad de toda la vida, este modelo tiene el exterior de material plástico frente al "clásico" de metal niquelado. Se refleja en el precio pero no tanto en la solidez del producto, que es magnífica, ya que el plástico es de muy buena calidad y da muy buena sensación en la mano, tanto el tacto como el agarre. Igual para uso intensivo en obras y ese tipo de trabajos vale la pena gastarse más en el modelo metálico, como metro para uso ocasional en el hogar, este va sobradísimo y debería durar toda la vida. Me ha resultado curioso que la indicación de lo que mide el cuerpo del metro venga en sistema imperial (pulgadas) en lugar del métrico (centímetros), no tiene mayor importancia, pone 2 3/4 pulgadas que son 7 centímetros, pero los modelos para el mercado europeo, y que además la cinta viene en sistema métrico, debería corregir eso. No le voy a quitar las 5 estrellas por esa tontería, pero creo que merece la pena comentarlo, y si llega a oídos del fabricante, pues a ver si me hacen caso... :)
