This thing packs a PUNCH and HEFT.
***Warning: Review by a DIYer home mechanic, not a "day to day" professional mechanic.************************************************************************************************************************The Good:Very powerful. Forward. Reverse. Don't matter. With a DEWALT 8AH battery pack on power setting #2, this thing unscrews 22mm wheel nuts and 21mm caliper bracket bolts very easily, even the ones with orange Loctite.Power setting #3 it's overkill most of the times to tighten anything and unscrews anything violently.Don't get distracted or this thing it's going to smack you and your wrist HARD. 😂The built-in LED lamp emits enough light to see everything in front of the wrench in the dark. The variable speed trigger it's a must have on ANY impact wrench and here it works flawlessly. The pistol grip feels good on a bare, oily, dirty hand but much better and safer (stronger grip) with leather or rubber gloves on, as you should be equipped to begin with before start using this tool.**********************************************************************************************************************The Bad:It's heavy. DEWALT claims 7lbs w/o battery. If you're planning on using it for extended periods of time and if you slap a big 8AH battery pack like a did, it's just going to get worse. Not a problem for me as I went in knowing that.Under prolonged heavy use you WILL physically destroy your batteries. The high power and the resulting vibrations are a double edged sword.I try to minimize the problem by grabbing the battery with one of my hands when using the wrench.DEWALT does not make the battery bumper, a.k.a BATTERYGUARD(TM) standard equipment, however, they'll be happy to sell it to you as an extra. That tells you that they know there's a problem but feel it's not critical enough yet to hurt their sales and tarnish their name. Time will tell.Don't trust the PRECISION WRENCH(TM) mode, use your own hand feel judgement and experience and you'll be better off. I tried it, then went over it with a manual wrench to assert my suspicions and felt it was way off when it came to applying the correct amounts of torque on different fastener types and sizes. The "run off prevention on reverse" feature did work as advertised but I see it more as gimmick than a true helping feature. JMHO.*******************************************************************************************************************Final Thoughts:If you need a powerful and reliable cordless impact wrench, be it at home and even at the shop, you won't be disappointed with this one.👍

Powerful, Reliable, and Worth It — XR Makes a Difference
This is an excellent impact wrench and easily one of my most-used tools. This is the XR version, not just a standard 20V MAX, and you can definitely feel the difference in power, torque, and overall performance. It has no problem breaking loose stubborn bolts and handles heavier-duty work without hesitation. The tool feels solid and well balanced, even with extended use, and the build quality is exactly what you expect from DeWalt. Battery life has been great, especially when paired with XR batteries, and the tool delivers consistent power without bogging down.If you’re deciding between a regular 20V MAX and the XR line, this one is absolutely worth it. Reliable, powerful, and built to last — highly recommended for both DIY and professional use.

Very impressed. Super powerful
This impact wrench is super powerful. I was very impressed when using it and got the job done easily. It takes out lug nuts, bolts and nuts like butter.

good power and value
I have many of the 20 volt tools to include 2 smaller impact wrenches - they did not have the torque to remove some bolts on my tractor - got this one - no issue - bolts/nuts came right off - worked as designedgood tool - it is heavy but what do you expect...would get it again
User
Brutally strong
This Took the tightest of lug nuts off as if they were only hand tight, the speed it took them off was so fast I wondered if the lug nuts were tight at all, it a great looking tool also, and the size is good to carry in your car instead of a lug wrench, a set of impact sockets makes it compatibility, with any car.a charged battery is all you need and changing tires is not longer a tiring knuckle busting job

Powerful and reliable impact
Powerful and reliable impact wrench with strong torque and a brushless motor. It’s durable, easy to handle, and perfect for automotive and heavy-duty tasks. Great performance for the price.

Great, but has an issue, read description. Other than that still gets the job done!
Works great. However sometimes it vibrates like crazy at full throttle if you have any size extension on it. I don't know if it's because of balance or brand of extension. But ruled that out when I used a Pittsburgh Tools extension then a Matco extension, same thing happened. And I don't mean it vibrates like its supposed to when taking bolts off, I mean, the whole entire gun and battery vibrates for no reason. Didn't do this for the first couple weeks of work (dismantler at junkyard). It still works and is very effective in breaking the bolts (and sometimes literally haha), so it still gets the job done 👍.. vibrator is annoying though. But oh well, idk if it's a DeWalt thing or not. My little 12v does it too. But my DeWalt power ratchet doesn't do it at all, the power ratchet is flawless. Back to this gun, the value for money is good, and will save you $ compared to Snap on and other unnecessary priced brands.

High quality.
Built very well. Heavy weight gun. No issues with it. Very powerful. I like the speed settings so you don't snap off the bolt on install. If you don't have strong arms then stay away from this as it weighs a little more than others.

I think you could jack up a house with this thing!
I have a 3 foot breaker bar that I used to change the wheels on my Bentley GTC. That thing is torqued at about 110 ft lbs. Still takes a bit of effort to do it by hand, and you need to have the car sitting on the ground, not in the air with the wheel loose when you're trying to take it off manually. If you don't, the wheel will just turn. I'm not weak by any means, but using the breaker bar as opposed to this thing is a night and day difference.I bought this DeWalt, and I'm able to pull the wheels off in seconds, with the wheel in the air, and it doesn't budge. This thing has so much torque, it feels like you could pull a house off its foundation with it. They aren't cheap, but they are incredibly effective.I set it for 100 ft lbs to put the wheel back on, and then I just go over it with a torque wrench to bring it up to 110. It's a matter of seconds. The only thing you need to ensure is that you've got the lug nuts screwed in a few threads before you start on this, otherwise you'll destroy it if you cross-thread it. And you could probably cross thread it all the way down to 500 ft lbs of torque...I love this tool! Make sure you get at least a five amp battery pack for it.
