OK, number one, it's a Spyderco, so you know the quality is going to be there, just like their customer service will be also. The Spyderco Para 3 is just about the perfect size for carrying in your pocket, not too big, not too small. The CPM S45VN blade came in "factory sharp", which means be careful, always. I have 3 of the Para 3 knives with a different blade steel in each, and I do tend to favor this one mainly for the abuse the steel can take. I admit, I am not fond of the camo scales, but with a little YouTube searching you can find ways to change their color. The CPM-S45VN is a step forward from S35VN in corrosion resistance and edge retention, is a little stronger and more corrosion resistant than S30V with similar sharpness retention, and the steel is more corrosion resistant. It is a relatively hard steel, but can be sharpened with nearly any standard sharpening device, which makes it a steel that most anyone that sharpens their own knives doesn't have to go buy something special just for it, saving you money, and in the end, having a working pocket knife that will save you money over time, even with a lot of use, that's just what I want in my pocket.

I have only ever purchased Paramilitary 2's from Spyderco (which I love) but after trying this knife, I must say that it's the absolute perfect next step for me and perhaps anyone else's entry point into Spyderco knives.It's razor-sharp out of the box and both the S45VN blade and G10 camo scales are top notch quality.This knife is a keeper and a mandatory addition to any collection or for EDC.Highly recommended!

A bit thicker than mt other Spydercos, but a very nice knife

This knife has been through the ringer more than once I carry it everyday I use it to cut straw blankets ,felt for rock beds, wires, I even used it to cut down an old tire did phenomenal. I had to use it to tighten the bar and chain on my chainsaw. And don't get me started on how often it's been dropped. As u can see the scratches. After 1 year it's been more than a knife for me.

I’ve been buying SpyderCo knives since the mid 90’s. I Was a grunt in the Marines then and a suburban grunter now. I have a PM2 with the digi camo G10 handle, but people wince and jump under desks when I use it at the office. That’s where the Para 3 comes in. It’s the PM2 but less run for hills when you take it out to use it around commoners. I was nervous about the authenticity buying it on Amazon, but it’s the real deal and it, like all new SpyderCo knives out of the box, is razor sharp out of the box. If you can part with cheddar, it’ll cut your cheese. Man that’s cheesy

Perfect folding pocket knife. Great steel and very sharp blade with sharp point. G10 grip is great to hold. Jimping on both sides of blade keeps finger and thumb from slipping. Compression lock is strong and easy to release. Love the cammo grip. Large lanyard hole nice. Not too big to be intimidating, but large enough to get lots of jobs done. Love it!

The Spyderco Para3 is an amazing everyday carry knife with one exception, that exception is the pocket clip. The pocket clip is terribly placed for tip up knife carry. The clip’s placement causes the knife to ride far too high in the pocket. I’ve ordered an MXG deep carry clip to remedy this problem, however if Spyderco would have designed this small but very important detail better it would be a non issue. If you’re a tip down kind of guy or girl then this would be an excellent choice to order and throw right in your pocket.
