I purchased this camera after extensive searching and reviewing multiple videos. The camera comes packaged very well and when taking it out of its box, I was impressed with the immediate feel of quality. It's something that you can touch and know it is solid and well made. I charged the camera for 2 hours as suggested and then went into the setup which is very easy to follow. In connecting the unit inside my car, I used the suction mount, knowing that when I found the right place to position it, I would probably need to use the 3M glued mount. So far the suction has held through much heat and a lot of vibration. I also purchased the cabin camera with this unit. It mounts solidly into the mini HDMI connection and gives great interior shots with it's 170 degree field as well. The only possibly complaint I could have is the magnetic connection holding the camera to the mount is too aggressive, causing the mount to swivel each time the camera is removed and necessitating adjustment again. That said, the camera is made in the UK with distribution and customer service in the US. I contacted them with questions before purchase and they were fast to answer and had excellent skills in handling questions. I would recommend this camera to my friends and family with no hesitation.

This dashcam does exactly what it promises. First, the installation on my windshield was very easy and it was simple to find the proper placement of the dashcam to ensure that my recordings included the maximum information of all my trips. The ability to remove the dashcam when not driving is a great benefit and with the power being supplied to the attached base it is a huge plus and very convenient. The recordings are high resolution and the ability to attach a rear camera by just clipping it into the dashcam without any extra installation is a plus. I also enjoy the recordings having my exact speed and location on the map. I've added a rear camera and the picture quality has remained high. Adding the rear was extremely easy to do and it's a secure fit. The smartphone application that goes with the dashcam makes it easy to transfer files and watch the selected recording. All in all this was a great investment that adds a non biased recording of all events, with all critical information, for that "just in case" event. It is the perfect addition to my new car, and to any person's car that wants an added set of eyes.

This camera didn’t even last a month for me. Stopped working just after the return date. It’s junk asides from the recording abilities. This is the 2nd one I’ve been through. The first one’s battery swelled up and leaked. The 2nd one just stopped working out of nowhere. Won’t turn on. This car is garage kept so there is no issue with it overheating. What a piece of crap this is. Do not buy this product.

Been on quite a journey with this cam. Ordered a 322GW in January. For some reason I was sent a 522GW instead, but I never noticed the discrepancy and hardwire-installed it anyway. Immediately noticed some problems, as the camera would not pair automatically with the app and I would have to unpair and pair again to get it to hook up. Then the cam would do odd things, like recording 2 hours of video while parked with the engine off, or filling up the 32gb Nextbase sd card and stopping rather than looping over old files, or locking some files for no reason. I turned off the parking mode so it wouldn't record the inside of my garage. Finally it lost the date and time, showing it as 2018 and I was unable to enter the correct date. Got on with Nextbase CS (very responsive I must say) and it turns out that A) the battery is bad (in a brand-new unit!) and B) they'll replace it, but will only send me a 322 since that's what I originally purchased. So now I have to downgrade to (hopefully) resolve all the issues I've had with this. Since the 322 presumably uses the same app and firmware as the 522, I'm only cautiously optimistic. I've also told Nextbase that it's unacceptable to have users constantly reformatting the sd card to be sure it's working. This is a reliability issue that should be addressed in the firmware. Otherwise you can never be sure whether the cam is actually recording, or it's filled the memory card and stopped. On the plus side, the cam takes very nice, clear and detailed video when it's working. I realize it may be confusing posting a review of a 522 here, but since this is the one I actually bought it's the only product I can review, at least until I swap the 522 for a 322.

I ended up with 2 of these dashcam's. The first unit came in and I was not happy with 3 min of battery life. I was worried that parking mode would not have enough battery when the car was off and parked. I ordered a replacement hoping that the battery life ould be better on the 2nd unit. It is not, it is the same 3 minutes. When you figure that the files are 1 min in length, 3 minutes of battery should give you enough power to capture video. Based on the quality of the unit and the ease of use I decided to live with the 3 min of battery and cancelled the return of the original unit. Overall I am very happy with this unit. I have not had an incedent in park mode. note: I have added the rear facing camera. This definatly adds to the reduced battery life. It sticks to the windshield great with the supplied adhiesive. The suction adapter lets go after several hours. Yes, I cleaned the area prior to installing in the window.

Very nice little dash cam. Easy to set up and thankfully I've had no occurrences to test its camera. Nice peace of mind!

The camera video quality is nice but the app is completely non-functional for retrieving videos. I have to reinstall the app from time to time because it just hangs. Once reinstalled it connects to camera but will never stay connected to WiFi long enough to retrieve videos. The connection just goes up and down even if not connected to CarPlay. Good news is, videos are easily retrievable from the SD card via your computer. Trash the app and focus on cameras. We have both front and rear cam on 2 vehicles and the videos are really good. Install was easy (one self installed and one professional). If you want to use with your phone then go somewhere else but if you want a good quality camera where you can retrieve from the card via your computer then this is a good choice.

Better than the 622 gw. Don’t never buy the 622 gw. I bought it upgrading the 322 I had but was worse in quality of everything about it. I decided to go back with 322 and never looked back at the 622.
