Let me help you out by helping you understand a few things.1. It is not intended to connect to your garden hose! There are no photos or descriptions that would even lead you to believe that! A SS braided supply line hose like for your sink is 3/4 FNPT (Female Nominal Pipe Thread) , that is NOT the same as a hose thread. Your garden hose will not work here. This product was meant to be mounted to a wall and connected with hard pipe or a supply line.2. The float valve is rated for 30-50psi. Your leaking float valve is because your pressure is too high! Stop writing 1-star reviews because you suck at plumbing! If your supply pressure is too high then install a regulator and you will be fine!3. Algae grows where water flows. Clean your bowl out and it won’t be dirty any more. Some reviewers have had bulkheads installed with ball valves for draining and cleaning. BRILLIANT!If you are an unskilled person or you jacked up the product by screwing a connector on too tight just do us all a favor and leave your opinions out.If you want to connect this to a Garden hose by a 3/4FNPT x 3/4 Female Hose adapter. If you don’t know what that is find a plumber.My experience: mounted it to a post and hard piped it in with copper. Ball valve for isolation, check valve so I don’t contaminate my hose water with dog slobber. It has worked perfectly for 6 months with no problem. I had issues with the thing leaking but before I spewed my hatred on the vendor I checked my system. Aha! My regulator was set too high. 75psi is too much for this product and 125psi is way too high. This little guy let me know I had serious issues elsewhere and probably saved me a blow out in the house. Pice of sand stuck in my regulator. I rebuilt it (house regulator) and now my house is safe and the water feeder is not leaking. Float valves are cheap and can be replaced if or when they go bad. At $28 the bowl is forever and the float valves are easy swaps.

I set this up in the dog run for 2 German Shepherd sized dogs and the dogs really like it and it works great. It's heavy duty and the metal design prevents them from chewing it up like the plastic versions. I would definitely buy it again and gave it 5 stars. All the valves are protected by the metal flap and the fitting can be switched to the other side if you want which is a nice feature. I didn't have to adjust anything, it worked and filled perfectly right out of the box.That being said, there are a few notes. The fittings is 1/2" so you have to buy an adapter to attach it to a garden hose. Not a big deal to me. Also, it doesn't come with mounting hardware but does have mounting holes you can use with your own hardware. It was a little smaller than I expected, maybe 1/2 gal capacity but that doesn't matter since it refills as the dogs drink.Also, this does not come with a drain and, once mounted, isn't the easiest to clean. Still not a big deal for me, but a factor to consider...

So much better than the plastic automatic water bowls. However, I did need my plumber to help with the setup. Also, had to attached a 4x4 post to the back so the occasional racoon couldn't push it of the patio and into the flower bed. Great for cats, dogs, house pets. Stays relatively clean, just wipe out occasionally with a paper towel.

Since it's supposed to be installed on a fence post or something similar, I followed the advice of someone in one of the comments - screwed it to a scrap piece of 4x4 wood and set it on the ground for my dogs. It fills QUICKLY!! Exactly what I needed for my 4 dogs. They run the yard together and all want to drink at the exact same time. While this is too small for them to all be there at once, it refills so quickly that there's no waiting time between dogs. My old waterer took forever to refill! I am having a lot of trouble with the plastic hose attachment leaking, though. No matter what trick I try, there is seepage. But the water loss isn't exactly a big deal, considering how much the dogs splash out while they drink anyway.

This water bowl works just as described and actually is the best one I've ever used. Setup was extremely simple. The stainless steel kept their water cool even during the hottest of our North Carolina summer days.It is very easy to keep clean as well. I've used other similar type devices and the floater was always an issue and prevented them from working well. Because of my past history with those other problematic devices, I always still peak to make sure it is still working and has clean, cool water in it for "my Boys". It has NEVER failed. TY for such an amazing product.

I purchased a stainless steel automatic water bowl in April of 2017. It worked great, and I would clean it out every week by picking it up and turning it over while rinsing out the bowl. That bowl died in August of 2018, so I looked to buy a replacement. I didn't find any better bowls on Amazon, so I got this one again. Although it is from a different seller, it is the exact same product. I've compared them side-by-side and they're indistinguishable, so I feel comfortable comparing them in my review.To use this automatic waterer, I had to buy a 1/2" NPT (F) to 3/4" NH (F) water hose adapter, so know going in that the waterer doesn't fit standard garden hoses out of the box. Also, the fitting was loose, so I had to use a lot of thread tape to make the seal water-tight, so you'll need that as well. Once you have those two things, installation is pretty easy. Turn on the water, and the bowl works automatically. The water fills the bowl until the float rises and shuts it off, similar to how your toilet tank works. The water level is less than half the height of the bowl and it isn't adjustable. I would like it if it filled up more. When the water is emptied, it fills back up quickly and stops like it is supposed to. My dogs and goats have never had a problem drinking from them.The only flaws I have found with this product are the lack of adjustment for the water level and the connector is made of plastic, so it will break if you aren't careful. Even with those flaws, I bought a second one because it was the best I had found on Amazon for the price. 3/5 stars.

Our back yard is fenced and pretty large, and our dog spends a lot of time out there in the summer, he loves it... we have other dogs over for playtime or for boarding, reasonably often too, so there was a constant need to have fresh water available outside, and inside. We kept refilling the bowl on the deck, but then we installed this guy right here, and now we don't have to worry about evaporation, or about them knocking it over, there's always fresh water available. We clean it, of course, but even that is a cinch because we can scrub the bowl and flush it right there with water available to do the job, and it's screwed right to the side of the deck so it's not able to be knocked over.

Perfect waterer. I bought 1 for sheep and 1 for pigs. Works perfect. But...you will most likely need an adapter that is threaded inside...bought at any hardware store. Otherwise this is way cheaper and same quality as those found in farm stores.
