I recently installed the Govee Smart Recessed Lighting 6 Inch in our living room, and it’s been a game-changer. The installation was straightforward, and the lights fit perfectly into the existing fixtures. Once set up, I connected them to the Govee app, which was intuitive and offered a plethora of customization options. I was looking at the local hardware stores for some recessed lighting options, and everything was just so mundane and boring. Then I thought about Govee and all the other Govee LEDs I already had at home and wondered if they had any recessed lighting options, and they sure did. And actually the same or slightly cheaper than the ones at the store. And obviously being Govee, I knew they would have a lot more flexibility and options. The install was easy, they give you everything you need, even push in wire connectors, although I used my own Wago connectors. I bought a 6 + 3/8” recessed lighting hole saw kit for the ceiling, and while it did work, I would say that you should probably just use a 6” one because the one that I used made the holes a bit too big and the Govee lights barely cover the whole thing. Of course the Govee app is great. The brightness is good if you use the illumination mode, and you can choose the Kelvin of the white. Also never had any issues using Google Voice commands with Govee products either. Overall, a great idea for recessed lighting if you’re bored of the same old stuff from your local hardware store.

These were a great addition to my Govee collection. I started with underglow for my vehicle, then lamp lights, to the recessed lights. I love that it can be controlled with my Alexa app as well so I'll have all of my smart items in one place. I absolutely love the color change with them for our movie room, dining area, and closets. Cool to set calming lighting. Install was straight forward and simple enough for me to install myself as a women, so that's always a plus. I started with my downstairs, but am now purchasing again for my upstairs. Awesome lights!

Govee Smart Recessed Lighting 6 Inch – Wi-Fi & Bluetooth RGBWW LED Downlight These are really the heart of my Govee lighting ecosystem. I currently have more than 30 of these installed throughout the house, and they’ve been working great. I use them in several different ways depending on the room. In the living room they work with the TV backlighting as part of a “TV time” routine. In the bedrooms they allow easy changes to color temperature and lighting modes depending on the time of day. The routines are where these really shine. For example, in the morning I can turn on just a single recessed light when letting the dog out so I’m not lighting up the entire house. They’re also great for seasonal and outdoor lighting. I use them on the front porch for holiday colors and on my covered back patio for softer mood lighting, especially when bugs are bad and I don’t want bright white lights attracting them. After about a year of use I haven’t had a single light fail, which is impressive considering how many are installed. The only small quirk I’ve noticed is that after a power outage the lights all turn on when power is restored, so the whole house lights up until the routines reset them. Overall these have been very reliable and are a great option if you’re building a larger smart lighting setup.

I simply connected the provided wire nuts to my existing wiring, then plugged the light fixture directly into the junction box. The entire process for each light took me less than ten minutes. Perfect addition to set the mood in your house. I bought these to replace some larger can lights i had. The install is easy as long as you understand the most basic principals of electricity and can match colored wires. I had to buy some adapter rings because these were smaller than my original can lights. The colors these cover is amazing, you can use the full spectrum or just use bright white or warm it up on a cold evening. the bright white is clean, crips and bright enough to keep a dinner party lit. I like to have mine set to blue when watching movies but have it set to red when napping at night. The app is so nice and allows you to use the camera to color match objects so you can get a precise color! I would recommend govee products to anyone looking to set up a smart home.

I installed these in our living room and wow, what a game changer. We have GOVEE smart lights on the outside of the house and the wife was hesitant to put them inside as well. Well after installing them she has seen light - literally. Interfacing with Alexa is amazing as you set the color temperature and brightness levels from your own couch without the need for the Govee app. The Govee app is nice too. We used it to set up lighting for movie night and used it to make a Halloween light show inside the house for when the trick-or-treaters came to our door. I took off one star because they did not install flat in the sections of our ceiling where there were floor joists. They stuck down about a 1/4" and required some creative wood working to make them fit flush to the ceiling. Other than that, installation was breeze and setting them up couldn't have been easier.

Mesh seamlessly. Have these throughout my house and no complaints. The app is great and I’m loving the features.

There is a delay for these to turn on as others have noted... it's not at the speed of light folks. But they look good, install easily, put off nice light. They are damp rated, i couldn't find that info in the description, but it says it on the lights itself. Happy with them so far.

I set these up in my music room, with the knowledge of how good my other Govee products are. The physical swap with my original LED flat lights was almost effortless. Ie. pull the old ones (spring loaded clips just like new ones have) out of drywall ceiling (used a slim blade to get a pry started so I could continue with my fingernails, removed house wiring from old control boxes, pulled entire assemblies out (nothing bolted down inside ceiling), installed new control boxes (~5 mins each), plugged new lights into control boxes, installed supplied clips into each light, re-inserted back in ceiling. The rest is easy with the App. Found each light via bluetooth to hook up to my wifi, named each one 1-4 for easy recognition and singular control if wanted, grouped them together as a 4 pack for that room, also grouped my Govee TV backlight in that same room (picture shows an example of them grouped in a monotone red). The App gives you hundreds of colors or "scenes" if you want it to be dynamic, themed, or simply monotone. You can also just turn them on for work lighting along with the typical range of white colors... and they're brighter than my original dumb ones. I have to say I'm impressed with my Govee products and will continue looking at their growing lineup.

These were quite easy to install. My installer took about an hour to do all four and most of that was because the builder did everything in the dumbest way possible when installing the original cans. I just needed to remove the cans from my original pot lights. They covered the space perfectly. They work well through the app, the light switch or Alexa. I’m very happy with them in my living room. I’m definitely considering the flat lights to replace the horrible dome ones the builder put in.
