This is perfect for my growing plant family! I recently got a money tree (named Monet) from Aldi that needed a new pot, and this was the perfect fit. It's provided plenty of room for the tree to grow exponentially Monet is very happy in their new pot and is thriving. I love that this comes in a pack of two, so I was also able to repot my Christmas cactus (Merey) at the same time. The moisture retention seems to be good, as I have not had to adjust the watering schedule. As far as ease of use is concerned, it's a planter. There was nothing I needed to put together or do anything special to in order to use it. I would buy these again And yes, I am one of those people that names their house plants! I am by no means, an expert plant person, but these pots have allowed my plans to continue growing and add a lovely touch to my living space

Needed to repot my christmas cactus in my kitchen window. This fit perfectly and allowed my christmas cactus to breath and grow more. Will buy again in larger size next time. Appearance is beautiful and simple at same time. Its easy to wipe down and drain.

One of the most convenient features is the self-watering design. The system cleverly keeps plants hydrated by drawing water from the deep reservoir at the pot's base, reducing the frequency of manual watering. This makes these plant pots ideal for those with busy schedules or those prone to over or under watering their plants. However, it's worth noting that the pots do not come with the string necessary to wick up water into the soil, which is a slight disappointment. In terms of usability, there's a bit of a learning curve when it comes to watering these pots. They require a small-tipped watering can to add water to the dedicated slot without any spillage, which may not be readily available to all users. This minor design limitation might lead to some inconvenience, especially for those new to self-watering planters. Despite these minor issues, the QCQHDU Self-Watering Plant Pots offer a stylish and practical solution for housing and nurturing a wide range of plants. While the lack of a provided wick and the need for a specific watering tool detract slightly from the overall user experience, the overall aesthetic appeal and functionality of these pots make them a solid addition to any indoor or outdoor space. These pots work well for my plants. They look nice in the room I have them in. I will definitely purchase them again for more repotting projects.

To start: That tray on the bottom is not for excess drainage. I have no idea if it has any use beyond aesthetic, however, there are many pots on the market that have a similar color change for a detachable tray on the bottom. The tray on those pots is used for bottom watering or to collect water drainage after the soil is fully saturated. This tray, while it looks identical and is detachable, is maybe 2mm deep. So, effectively, it has no extra drainage capacity. I specifically bought these pots so I could limit water leakage on watering days so I was a bit disappointed when I assembled the pots. That being said, they do work as pots. They hold the soil and water well without bending or being too flimsy. The colors are true to the pictures. They're easy to assemble and are very light weight, so, if you're putting them on a shelf, you don't have to worry about extra weight from the pot. If you're looking for something that's cute, light weight, and sturdy, this is a good option especially for the price. If you want something that can store water in the bottom, either to catch drainage or to "auto-water" your plants, this is not the pot set for you.
