Wensilon (300 pcs)#8×3/4" Phillips Truss Head Wood Screws Stainless Steel 410 Quick Metal Self Tapping

I’ve been really happy with this screw assortment. I ended up using some of them in pressure-treated lumber on a garden planter project. I know 410 stainless isn’t generally the preferred stainless grade for that application since it doesn’t have the same corrosion resistance as 304, so that was my choice rather than the intended use of the screws. The tradeoff with 410 is that it’s harder and stronger than the more corrosion-resistant 304, which makes sense for a self-tapping screw like this. The quality control on the set I received was excellent. The threads are clean and sharp, the Phillips heads are formed well, and I didn’t run across any noticeably defective screws. They bite and grip the material nicely, and the self-tapping design makes them convenient for all sorts of DIY and home repair jobs. Although I always pre drill a tiny hole when install screws in wood. I also really like the truss heads—they sit nicely against the surface and look a little more finished and pleasing to the eye than a standard screw head. It’s nice having several lengths on hand instead of buying a separate box every time a project changes, and everything comes together as a useful little kit. Overall, a good variety, nice appearance, solid grip, and very consistent manufacturing. Definitely something I’ll keep around for future home and shop projects.

Works great

I bought these screws to use on a bourbon barrel project. Any time I purchase hardware made in China, I worry about the quality. These screws are very impressive. Often times screws of inferior quality will break off at the head when torque is applied. I’ve installed over 100 screws already and not a single one snapped off (and I’m using a Dewalt impact driver). I would definitely recommend these.

Awesome Purchase

I use these in tandem with 1.25" washers to secure wire mesh around my chicken coop run. They look well and install very easily. Why 4 stars and not 5? A few (less than 2%) of the heads twisted and broke right off when installing into wood. I would still recommend these. losing 2 -3 in a box of 250 is acceptable.
