Get behind the scenes access to your psychiatrist's mind
Ever wonder just what the heck it is your psychiatrist is basing your diagnosis off of? This is it! If you get previous iterations like the dsm4 or dsm3, you can also learn to see how the diagnostic criteria has changed over time, and you can only imagine if not foresee the downstream consequences of such thought patterns being propagated across individuals pursuing a career in the field of psychiatry.

Good Content, Needs More Functional Binding
Working in the CD field so don't need a full sized DSM. The book meets my needs, is concise and clear and the size is right. The one complaint I have is that most everyone that wants to use this book would prefer it to be spiral bound. I brought it to a printer and had them cut the spine, punch it and spiral bind it, which was only $6, but there was so little spine that important information is cut off in some places. For the high price we pay for this small little book, they can at least spiral bind it to make it functional.

A good guide
I have access to an electronic copy of the DSM-V and needed something more handy to refer to in a hurry. This book was it. It is a more compact version of the full-sized DSM-V and contains much of the information of it's bigger brother book. It is handy and fits nicely in a book bag pocket where it is easily accessible and much more easy to handle than the larger, hardcover edition. It is also great for students who can't or are not able to fork out the $100+ of the DSM-V.

Flexible and nice for the experienced clinician.
As a predoctoral intern, I contract between offices a lot throughout the city I'm doing my work. It was difficult lugging around the DSM-5 with everything else I need, so it was really nice getting this minature version. It fits perfectly in my messenger bag, and has all the criteria listed for current DSM-5 diagnosis. It doesn't include details like longevity of disorders or cultural differences, but if you've been practicing in the field long enough--this is a nice must-have for your clinical work. Whether you've your own office, or travel like I do--it's small and compact. Little bit of an issue with the spiral binding, as you need to make sure you re-adjust it, to prevent the pages from spilling all over the place, but I still give it 5 stars as it is well worth the price.

neue Kriterien
Es sind halt die neuen Kriterien der Amerikaner. Suchtkapitel ist ok, Spielsucht als Sucht anerkannt - ansonsten Impulsstörungen wie bisher.

Awesome
This book has been referred to us for our internship at the Master's degree level. It comes very handy during fieldwork, due to its portability. The cover and the pages are quite dull, as I believe it must have remained in stock for too long. However, it's in a good condition with clear printing.
