Sheaffer Viewpoint Calligraphy Maxi Kit: 3 Fountain Pens with 3 Nibs, 20 Assorted Ink Cartridges, Instructions, and Tracing Pad

I have used Shaffer calligraphy pens for years. I really like you can see the ink level. But it seems the quality isn't as good as a long time ago. There pens just seems very light weight and the metal on the nibs isn't as strong. Seems like they are too flexible and not as precision as they use to be. Also, the reason I bought these is because fairly recently I had purchased 1 of these and I was try to clean the not and ruined it. You use to be able to pull the metal part off to clean the nib really good and they don't come off anymore, at least I couldn't get it off and bent the metal.

I'd seen a lot of calligraphy items by another maker, but couldn't find Shaeffer, which I had many years ago and really liked. After I tried, and mailed back, another set by another mfr., I found this Shaeffer set. At the first touch of the nib on paper, I remembered the hours of enjoyment I had 20 years ago, learning calligraphy on Shaeffer pens. From the first forms I tried with these, I knew I had made a good decision. So glad they still make these wonderful pens. The set is awesome, with lots of cartridges in several colors. I'm looking forward to reclaiming my calligraphy skills.

As some other reviews have said this set does leak and skip (especially for lefties), but it’s definitely bearable. If you’re just starting out with calligraphy and don’t wanna spend a lot of money before you start to actually get good, this is prefect for you. My only real issue is it didn’t come with more sample writings for I had to look them up online.

I learned calligraphy for addressing my own invitations. I had a difficult time finding a pen that achieved the same look as the ink pot nibs. I just hate the mess of the ink pots! This is the closest thing you can find that will still achieve the beautiful thick and thin lines similar to that of the quill and ink pot of calligraphy!! Trust me! I bought multiple products!I also loved their provided inserts which was an added bonus!! For reference, one ink cartridge was enough for me to address 35 invitations and it is still half full. And I have a bunch of wonderful colors now as well!!

These are the first pens like this that I've ever bought or had in my life and I'm in love with them I've always had a want for pens like this and I find them so beautiful they write so smooth and well colors that come with them are vibrant as you can see with the blue or green whatever color that shade is along with the purple and the red

Had a Calligraphy job to do and my pens were so old I decided to go with the ease of pens with cartridges as to the ink pens that you fill a bladder from the ink bottle. I like these as they are a wider barrel and easier to hold and control the pens. Nice set at a good price. The cartridges are a bit pricey though but it comes with quite a few but only 1 black one.

I used my first Sheaffer calligraphy pen over 30 years ago. Recently I purchased several different calligraphy brands, just for fun but was disappointed. As a result I then specifically searched for the Sheaffer brand. The brand has been around forever and they are still great quality.

I got this as a gift and I love it! I have wanted to try calligraphy as a hobby, especially when it comes to writing cards or making gifts for people! I wish it came with more detailed instructions and a more "how to" for actually doing calligraphy. I still give it 5 stars because it has replacement ink for days, in many colors, and includes multiple writing tips- so as a set, it's great!

I bought this after visiting amazon looking for ink refills for a Sheaffer Calligraphy kit I bought 15 years ago and which I use for writing cards on Birthdays and at Christmas. A pack of ten refill cartridges would have cost me £10 while I got this whole set for £9.99. This set contains twenty refill cartridges (which is what I was looking for) as well as three pens, an instruction book and a small pad of paper, so I effectively got the three pens and the paper and ten extra cartridges for free. What's not to like. For a beginner this would be an ideal set to try out calligraphy to see if you would like it before committing maybe more money and starting off a new hobby. The pens are not great quality but they do feel nice in my hand and the nibs seem to write well. The nib sizes are roughly 1mm, 2mm and 3mm italic nibs. A tip when you throw away the packaging - there are ten cartridges on the front of the packaging and ten more on the back where you can't see them.

I wanted a selection of broad nib pens that allows the ink to flow without restrictions, these popped up on my radar through research and YouTube, well the brand did. After a little search I found this product, I'm very happy with the pens and yes the ink flow is second to none. Highly recommend these to beginners and pro's alike.

They write very well, however they have holes in the sides which are uncomfortable when held, in turn it makes them difficult to hold and use I wouldn't suggest them for beginners for that reason.

Brilliant!! Great set, easy to use and refill.plenty of ink (20 refills various colours).includes excellent book with tips and different font examples, history and posture positions + advice for left handed people. All so included is a practice pad.

I thought I was going to love this set more than I do I like the range of sizes but when you write the ink doesnt flow fluidly from the pens
